Steven Gerrard for me. One of my favourite players the way he plays and his never give up mentality

Lampard for me. The most under-appreciated English footballer of his generation. Mr reliable.

Over their careers, Lampard. Currently, Gerrard.

Lampard easily in terms of career.

More intelligent player, better technically and better passer/vision.

His 08/09 season is one of the best of any english player.

By the way, there has never been a more overrated performance than Gerrard in Istanbul.

Frank Lampard 08/09 stats:

20 goals/19 assists. 131 chances created in the PL.

Second only to Xavi in chance creations in all of Europe that season.

Saint, it was hilarious how he didn't even get nominated for player of the year that season. Along with Alonso he was the best performer in the league and they ended up giving it to Giggs

Just never understood the fuss. Decent headed goal, blatant dive for Liverpool's penalty equalizer and other than that, offered no real quality but got himself around the pitch well. You'd think he came up with some outrageous Maradonnaesque efforts with the way the media went on about him.

Exactly Bats. That was his finest season in his career. His creativity was at an all time high and he found the perfect balance in scoring and creating for teammates.

If Anelka and Drogba were more clinical, he'd have 25+ assists that season.

Giggs wasn't even among the top 3 of United's player of the season that year. Was pretty hilarious as well. Almost as bad as Zidane winning the 2003 FIFA WPOTY.

I would have gerrard over Lampard every day of the week.

Couldn't agree with this comment more. He was so bad in midfield he was moved to right back and Hamman was brough in to shore up the midfield.

Agree with the point of Lampard being better over his career but Gerrard currently.

Both average grafters with good long range strikes. Amateurs compared to Scholes and Cesc.
