It goes back to the question I think should be asked by premiership clubs when they debate things like FFP, and that is why it takes so much money to be able to fully compete. It effectively cost 100 million for us to go from third to first. Now, managerial talent can make a slight difference, but in the grand scheme of things, league position very closely matches spending and wage bill.
Everton are a prime example of it. They average eighth in terms of spending and Moyes' average position with Everton us between seventh and eighth. He is slightly overachieving, but really not by much (this season may be an exception, we will have to wait and see).
There are other factors which mean someone like United will naturally have a lower wage bill than, say, Chelsea or City simply because of who they are and how successful they are - they have been able to attract the top players without having to pay the premium that other clubs sometimes have to.
For me, clubs and the premier league can't spend 20 years courting investment and making stupid amounts of money and float on the stock exchange and then cry foul when investors come along wanting a piece of the action.
Are city the biggest draw in the premier league now then, Boris?
If tranmere started winning consistently, they'd end up the biggest draw in the premier league
People watch to see who wins.

We'll see at the end of the season.
City earnt more TV money than United last season so how does that work?

Because they finished in a higher position and so got more of the pot.
The pot which is driven by United and the demand around the globe of people to see United
The league's never fair, never has been. Whether its Littlewoods bankrolling Liverpool or Abu Dhabi bankrolling city there's always an imbalance. What does fair mean anyway?
Every club looks out for its own best interests, last thing you want to do is cry like girls when they change the rules.

So the increase in TV revenue has nothing to do with City or anyone else and that image of Aguero running down the wing waving his shirt was never shown again after May 13th.

Images from Blackburn's title win probably seemed iconic in '95 and '96, know what I mean?
omg Boris do you seriously think the Aguero moment has anything to do with the tv money increase ? seriously ? I always had you down as one of the more intelligent posters despite your bitter tendancies.

City have much in common with Napoli.
Both play in sky blue, and both were carried to glory by one man. For Napoli it was Maradona. For City it was Sheikh Mansour.
