Prior to this season he has been called better than Messi, best CM in the world, nominated for the Ballon D'Or, won the player of the tournament at the Euros, all of that praise was completely unwarranted. Iniesta essentially plays the same way as before, the difference is he is now usually the last link between midfield and an end product, whereas before there would maybe be two phases ahead of him. He was just as inventive and creative in a deeper role.

His playing style has not changed, only his position.

How am I using flexibility against him? Fabregas played as a CF for Spain because there were no better options. His best performances have always been from midfield. Iniesta's performances have not.
