Name a team full of 'leaders'

English players that 'try' don't qualify

Would you rather have Ronaldo (31?) or Theo in the team.

Well, Theo is under 28 so it would have to be him. I'm sure a new manager would make him better than 31 year old Ronaldo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do you think Real Madrid want to get rid of Ronaldo on £20m a season?

Theo is unproven after his injury. You can blame players who start week in/ week out. Not someone who has nothing more than a backup role since we started capitulating in Jan.

Let a new manager decide. BTW I can come up with extreme idiotic examples as well but doesn't disprove the point.

But why are younger players absolved of the lack of leadership trait?

If we are making big changes in the summer, I'd sell Mertesacker, Debuchy, Arteta, Rosicky, Giroud, Ramsey and Walcott. That's probably the most changes you'd want to risk in one summer

Assuming Wenger keeps his job (he will) I'd get rid of the following:

Debuchy
Flamini
Arteta
Ramsey
Theo
Giroud

Bring in:
Xhaka
Kanté
Mahrez/Mkhitaryan
Manolas
Ibra (OH NO HE'S OLD AND HAS HIGH WAGES AND A PERSONALITY!!!!)

"I would definitely get rid of everyone over 29."

Monreal, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Debuchy, Arteta, Flamini, Cazorla, Rosicky, Giroud

Half the squad here
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes. And thats the point. Where do you think the capitulation comes from? The lack of leadership. The most experienced players are supposed to be the winners who carry you to the title under pressure. And its those players who capitulated! Look at Monreal/Kos performance against West Ham under pressure or Giroud over the last 2 months when the pressure was on to win the title!

You can buy experience - no problem. But if you are changing the ethos of a club the fault lies with the players who have leadership roles in the dressing room. Thats the players over 29!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you just throw a blanket over all old players and get rid, you end up with a disaster.

Players like Kos and Monreal need leaders playing alongside them - they are good enough to be in a winning team.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are they? They haven't proved it this far! For feck sake we are going to lose the league to Leicester City or Spurs! Its an embarrassment. Any normal club would be firing the manager and destroying those who have done nothing for the last 4 years! (I only go back to since the takeover.)

Well by that logic, neither have Alexis (Copa America winner, national hero) or Ozil (World Cup winner, national hero)

It is clear that several of our players are good enough, and it's nothing to do with age - It's purely the manager and the british/Giroud DROSS he surrounds the good players with.

Real Madrid are actually a much more balanced team without 50 guaranteed goals a season

Did you see Theo yesterday he clearly saw that vine of him falling like a newborn giraffe against palace, desperate to make up for it

Alexis was painfully superior to everyone on the pitch.

And they share responsibility. I blame Giroud more than most here. and have done since I first saw him play. But it takes more than one in a team to under perform to capitulate the way we have. Thats why I blame a lot on Wenger as well. And I think we need a new manager and ethos. For that players over 30 really are nothing more than dead weights. Any new manager will take some time. Finding another Wenger who will transform the club and give a new life to the oldies is going to be nee on impossible.
