Giroud did pretty well from crosses whipped in low across the face of goal, that's why Walcott was useful

At the beginning of his career at Arsenal. Later teams cottoned on that Giroud was not RVP and started man marking him. So he became like backstop in the pen area (like a point guard in basketball) to play little balls around the corner for Theo and Ozil or Ramsey to run onto from midfield. We became very slow as a result and lost the ability to counter attack. Its why our away record got worse year on year.

OK, serious question here. When you say "wide player", do you mean actual Winger's (which we've not had since.....actually can't remember the last proper wide player we've ever had) or do you mean AMF that have been forced as wingers?
