Are you seriously making a case for us to have stuck with Emery, over getting a new manager?

We were never in for Ancelotti though.

Next question...?

We have the 4th highest first team wage bill. Shocking.

The list of names we were linked with after they sacked Emery were so meh I honestly cannot remember a single one of them.

But yeah, why of why did we knock back old Carlo, eh Pete?

What have you seen from ancelotti in his managerial career that makes you think he is capable of rebuilding a club from rock bottom back to the top again?

There is nothing.

He is doing very well at the moment, but even he would have struggled with the squad we have.

Everton actually do have a better balanced squad than us. Which shouldn't be a surprise considering how much they spent. Silva was just the wrong appointment.

Yeah, but was he really?

Plus, would he have been a great fit at Arsenal anyway? No exactly famed for his love of expansive football, is he.

Allegri is another one who i'm not sure is the type of manager you bring in for a rebuild.

Also, the language barrier would have been a huge issue, as we saw with emery.

Tbh it's hard for me to judge how Ancelotti, or indeed any other manager is doing really. Unless Arsenal are involved, I watch very little football these days.

pete, it's been like 8 games. we went on a 22 game unbeaten run with emery and everyone thought he was the man to turn us around.

lets reserve judgement on ancelotti. i am doing the same with arteta.

All the top managers know the club are hamstrung by average players on huge salaries. Though Ozil gets singled out its just not him. For example who is the better player Torreira on £60k a week or Xhaka on £100k a week?

Until we get rid of the group of players that took us from qualifying for the CL to not qualifying for the Europa nothing is going to change even if we had Klopp or Pep.

or judge them when they've had a proper summer to bring in their own players and get rid of the ones who clearly don't want to be here?

if it was up to pete, OGS should have been a contender for the arsenal job after the 3-1 win at PSG

Pete still thinks Emery would be doing a good job

I like what Arteta has achieved so far in his short time at Arsenal. What is it now... two months?

Hopefully during his time with the lads in this training camp in Dubai he will have had time to try to imprint a bit more of what he wants the team to do, rather than just the fire fighting he's had to do so far.

What is it..? Two or three in-game injuries, with two red cards? That is hardly helpful to any manager, let alone one just started in his first job.

I think you expecting a bit too much from Arteta, Lex. he needs his own players before he'll be able to embed his ideas. I think we carry on limping in the league and put all our efforts in winning the Europa. There really isn't any club in that tournament that should scare us apart from Inter. And they may have bigger fish to fry in the latter stages.
