This is a massive win for us. No doubt. Need to continue with the wins otherwise this count for nothing.

Is that you saying this or a quote from "captain" Xhaka

Julian Brandt, Geets?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know Lex. Dont know where that link comes from? Dortmund let him go? Not sure. No links from the German press so far.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough. Was more wondering whether you think he’s someone that could adapt to the Prem and offer us something we currently lack in the side.

Remember being impressed when I saw him playing for Germany, but think he was brought on fairly late in the match.

Burnley are so bad, how did we lose to these

We don't need more wingers ffs. Even yesterday you could see the issue. We broke on the counter with Tierney possession of the ball. He went across half way line then suddenly stopped and passed behind to Xhaka in midfield. Then running back to take up some deeper position out wide.

That tells you the coaching is really flawed. I did not want Ancelloti over Arteta. But he has got Everton to second whereas we have gone backwards. And its obvious thats because of the coaching.

We have a group of top top youngsters. And we need a top class coach who will progress them to be winners.

Very impressed with Villa yesterday. Didn’t intend to watch the match, but man, they’re a fun team!

I really can't get into peaky blinders forcing myself to at least finish the 1st season.

It’s a great show, Snooks. But if you’re not into it by now, I think it probably just isn’t for you, mate.

Nah, I found it boring as well. Got to the start of the third series though, so we'll done on quitting early doors.

Julian Brandt? Like Aouar, atm wide to in?

Would rather develop Saka and Martinelli.

Going back to yesterday again, totally think Saka meant to shoot for his goal, rather than cross. Just have to look at the way he shaped his body. He’s even looking where Mendy is!

Brandt and Aouar are both central players.

Yeah, a bit like Merson. Outside of his foot.

Thought Brandt was similar in style to Gotze.

Like Reus. But I don't watch Bundesliga enough tbh so if he something different?

ESR did great yesterday.

Pires played more centrally for Marseilles, Ljungberg too for Sweden. Some players are just more adaptable like that. Perhaps Aouar and Brandt are too?

posted on 27/12/20

But this is what I meant by Saka, Martinelli, ESR. We have some talent in house and if we are spending £50m and then asking those players to adapt as well, its not quite the same situation as Pires or Freddie?

posted on 27/12/20

People saying Arteta got lucky yesterday due to the enforced changes he had to make.

I don’t deny that, but also remember Wenger similarly lucking out a few times too.

Agreed. But this is the moment when the club, and the fans, really have to decide how ready they are to go for another project, or whether someone more ready made is required.

Up till now we've seen some great performances in the Europa and then Pete usually punctuates all of that by rightly saying its against farmers. That performance was against Chelsea yesterday. Big spenders. And the kids were great.

Truly world class younger players are going to beyond our finances. And even then a risk like Pepe.

I have started to think we need the a change in coaching and then let them work through like Barcelona did with their youth crop.

It does mean improving the experienced players who are still at Arsenal. And I think that should be down to better coaching/tactics as well.
