Its quite funny the club down played their values rather that the usual of giving the head line figure. The bonuses are linked to the easy achievables so we really have paid £30m for Ramsdale and €40m for Odegaard.

The players we've signed are good standard, but the perception that they don't improve our side is probably because of the manager, and specifically his inability to improve players we do have.

If coaches like Klopp, Mourinho, Pep or even Brendog signed Ramsdale, White and Ødegaard, fans and media would probably think they've hit a master stroke.

Ramsdale - Slight improvement on Leno, definite improvement on Runarboi

White - Definite improvement on Holding and Luiz

Ødegaard - Definite improvement on no one

Taveres - Definite improvement on Kolasinac or Xhaka at LB

Lakonga - Definite improvement on Elneny

All these players are very young and I expect all to get into first XI this season.

The club were leaking £24m for Ramsdale and €35m for Odegaard to Ornstein, not the actual amounts. So they are conscious they are overpaying.
