Was clear against West brom the backline were more at ease and his distribution is better than Leno's. Even if it was their reserves.
He has a lot of experience for his age tbh. Hope he can keep some good form.
Also he's not a nervous wreck like Leno. Also stats say he's one of the league's best at catching crosses. Just have to hope he can keep mistakes at a minimum.
Hoping he can usurp Pickford as England no.1 tbh. Hark back to the seaman days.
Leno's contract expires in 2022?

Honestly just seeing him being proactive and doing things like coming out to pat his defenders on the back for a good clearance was really refreshing and reassuring as a fan, must be great as a player
He's probably told Edu/Arteta he wants out, and Arteta has rightly decided to shift him aside sooner, rather than later. Makes the Emi decision even more appalling but I've said before it's all done and dusted now so time to move on.
Hopefully people will forget Leno's mistakes and by the end of the season will say he was unlucky to lose his job. That way we may get some decent money for him.
Lenos agent was whooooring him around last season causing him to lose form, we barely saw a bid for him. Think he'll be another one to leave on a free.
That makes no sense whatsoever Tu. Arsenal wouldn't have ever let Leno go before getting a replacement first. We only signed Ramsdale on 20th Aug. That only left 10 days for Arsenal to sell Leno and also buy a backup. Unrealistic.
Onana should be available on a free next season for a good backup to replace Leno.
It was around the time Leno did that disasterclass Vs wolves, J. He was being linked to gladbach I think and I'm pretty sure he knew the fans were getting on his back about being worse than Emi.
Guy was a nervous wreck, I was defending him on here but couldn't after that
A lot of players Arteta has publically backed have or will feel a lot of intense pressure, simply with the fans being back. Leno is the current example. Xhaka has completely bottled it and will really get stick from the crowd if/when he returns. Willian couldn't even be bothered and legged it before facing up to a full home crowd.

I just hope he can keep it up. Would love to see an arsenal player as England no.1 again.
Still on holiday so missed the game. How did we play?

Xhaka being back after suspensions depends on our results in the next two games. If we somehow winning the two games can't see him starting.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Started off very well for the opening 20 minutes, looked very energetic and lively. Then 20th - 40th minute, we looked quite toothless and very vulnerable on the counter attack. Final 5 minutes of the half, we pushed a bit more, but still lacked something.
Second half started a bit slow, missed some decent chances and Norwich were tough to break down, then Auba scored (luckily). After that, Norwich were forced to come out which meant there were more spaces for us to carve openings and we should have killed the game off, but didn't. Pepe, Saka and ESR all had great chances to get a 2nd.
Nervy end to the game with Pukki having two decent chances that Gabriel and Cedric blocked.
The performance was better than the garbage against Chelsea and City, but you'd expect that, as we were playing Norwich. However, it still wasn't convincing enough.
Lots of work to do.
Samir
I guess the real test will be Spurs in couple weeks. I see Vieira managed to beat them so no excuses for us.
Think I'm gonna have to filter WB2
Saliba is putting another monster performance right now vs Monaco.
Watch him conceding a penalty now π€¦βοΈ
We've registered saliba in the squad so he counts as homegrown next season. Hopefully saliba still wants to play for us after titler is sacked
Arteta days should be numbered. With the 3 losses in 4 he can't really afford to lose more than 1 game in the next 6 or 7 and this very average team isn't going to do that
Goobers: ‘Emi STILL talking about Arsenal!!!’
This "British" tennis lass is doing okay, innit.
Truth is, we should never have had to make that decision to sell one of the keepers. They were both capable of being no1 and we should’ve been able to use last season for them to battle it out.
But no, we had to make a sale to sign Partey or Aouar. And no one was making decent offers for any of our other players.
This summer though we suddenly had loads of money available...
