We have only what 17 games left in the season or something. By the time we face wolves, everyone should be back and I think Arteta and Co have decided to keep it as it is

I said the other day, there's just no point bringing in a stop gap now cos we've played all the bloody fixtures.

If a game changer CM is available, then by all means go for it.

Not something I would agree with though.

The teams definitely needs freshining up, especially in attack which always looks so laboured

I wouldn't normally advocate stop gaps but the squad as it is right now has no chance of top 4 (fair play Arteta if he pulls it off).

Of those 17 games, Xhaka is already missing 2 of them. Do you really expect Gabriel, Partey and Lacazette not to have further injury/discipline issues before the end of the season? We have no worthy alternatives to any of them and the team is significantly weaker when they're unavailable.

The opportunity for top 4 this season is too big not to gamble.

So Arteta's trip to the US, was it to sign that GK or to sign his own new deal?

We are probably gonna be the only PL club to weaken in this window

Whatever anyone thinks of their individual qualities, or what they bring to the squad, fact is by the summer we’ll have lost / be losing 3 strikers.

Even if Balogun has a successful loan at Middlesbrough, unless Arteta intends to play Martinelli up front, we’re going to need to sign 2 strikers within the next two windows.

If Edu thinks one of their targets is available now they surely must move for them before the window closes.

Ah sorry, the point I was making is that I'd rather a stop gap than nobody. If we could make 1 big signing then I'd also prefer a striker. Even in games where we haven't played well I've seen enough to indicate that a top striker could have turned a 0-0 at Burnley into a 1-0 win.

As it stands, it doesn't look like we'll bring in anyone to have an impact on the first team. I'd sooner take a gamble on somebody to fill a short term requirement than do nothing at all.
