Any other big club would have sold Chambers for 10-15M without running his contact down to the summer

Our wages are constrictive. There is no point keeping players who are out of contract in the summer and not being used. Hopefully the £2m we save will go towards the wages of an incoming player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Loan him with an option to recall if shiiit hit the van. But now, we are light in defence if we get a long term injury
When is Leno's contract due? Is he too leaving on free in the summer?

What would be the point of that when the player is out of contract in the summer and free to sign a pre-contract with another club?

Didn't understand what you mean. What do you mean by loan him?
He left for free. We don't get anything out of it whether he leaves now or in the summer. So instead of selling him permanently now we should have loaned him out with option to recall if we hit an injury crisis
A loan requires a minimum of one window. So you could only recall in the summer when he would be out of contract unless you can mutually terminate the loan earlier. And why would any club take a player on loan only to agree to terminate a contract say after 3 months? So whether you loan or terminate his contract it amounts to the same thing!
Wonder if we overstretched the finances in the summer? There's thinning down the squad but this seems a little extreme unless we have signings coming in before the window closes
Happy that Chambers is gone but wtf is going on. We barely have a squad

We have awful negotiators.
Chambers could have been sold for minimum 10M
Eddie should have been sold for 20M
Ramsey for 40M
Sanchez 60M

ffp is a thing. Though in Chambers case I really don't think we are losing anything if Arteta didn't intend to use him. Recently Arteta used White at RB when Cedric and Tomi were out, preferring to use Holding at CB. I think if there was trouble as you suggest Arsenal would have got rid of Elneny as well without a CM replacement.

Chambers should have been sold when he still had well over a year on his contract and all the other ones are spot on

Eddie is under 21 top goal scorer. I have seen far sheeted British players got for 20M plus
Ramsey - a lot of big clubs wanted him and we could have easily got 40M for him
Sanchez, well we got 60M offer for him and rejected it
AMN is another player we will lose for fack all

You hardly can sell when the player is injured which in the case of Chambers was far too often. And Ramsey as well.
In an ideal world you need to make you mind up of a player two years ahead of a contract inspires. That isnt realistic at all so the contract runs to the last year see the Laca deal.
Sanchez was a special case.
OM centre back William Saliba on his future: “Arsenal? The only thing that I can tell you is that I am happy at Marseille, that is positive. Everything is going well here - there will be discussions in summer. We’ve time to think about it”, he told RMC Sport.

Is the ink on that Chambers contract dry yet?
Ramsey - a lot of big clubs wanted him and we could have easily got 40M for him. Bollox.
A lot of clubs wanted Ramsey
Bellerin is another. He had a big profile in Europe and again we will make nothing from his eventual sale
Guendouzi and Torreira also
Have no doubt that Saliba will never play a competitive game for Arsenal
