I don't think we'll get him, but I'm pretty sure he wants to join us. I fear Newcastle will charge too much though

All about contract renegotiations. Lookman's contract ends 2026 a bit like Trossard. So his agent is playing the market for someone who'll double his wages. Unlikely with UEFA 70% ffp cap.

We rejected him once. (offered less than Newcastle). So I am nots ure about that. But I am sure he will say anything to get more money from Newcastle. No one forced him to sign till 2028.

To be fair I thought the same after Arteta big him up before the game.

probably his best performance yet, which isnt saying loads but thought his running and link up play on the left was much better.

Was an odd performance last night, especially first half. Didnt feel like we were that amazing but should have been at least 3-0 up at half time.

Think Jesus confidence is just shot, never looked like scoring now matter how good the chance. Not sure what you can do about that, I'd say yeah he should be on the left if he's going to play at all.

It's all about getting through without extra games. Dont need necesarily a world class performance.

What do we think of Kiwior? I think he's not completely convincing as a defender, gives away some silly fouls and is a bit rushed under pressure. But some of his passes on that left foot are sublime.

If he's happy being a back up, I'm more than happy to keep him

I think the jury is still out on Merino. I have yet to see anything spectacular that justifies Arteta focussing on him all summer.

Merino's just competent. No special effects.

Did combine well with Martinelli a couple of times though, so that was encouraging. Still waiting to see a Calafiori, Merino, Martinelli left hand side.

Yeah. Maybe Merino had extra defensive duties because of MLS/Kiwior.
