I would have been ok with us binning the FA Cup but losing at home to United isn’t really an option
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If anything, even more pressure on Arteta to win a cup competition now
Doubt it, I doubt the hierarchy really put much stock on the domestic cups.

Who is referring to the hierarchy, the pressure will come from the fans
The fans who wanted him out for the first 3 years? Who cares about them?

Nothing to do with that. He had load of credit in the bank.
Fans stopped turning up to games
The toxicity that eventually did for Wenger was years in the making.
Like the rest of us, the fans that stopped going to matches 6-7 years ago probably struggle to get tickets to watch the team now.
In the last 8 games we are 18th on xg from open play
We were routinely getting battered by the big teams in Wenger's last 5 or so years, humiliation after humiliation. We'd get the odd good result, and of course a few FA cups that would warn him some goodwill, but it was really just a big decline in terms of the league. We couldn't even win away from home in his last few years.
There was huge expenditure too. 100m+ on auba and lacazette, 70m on xhaka and Mustafi. Recruitment was just an absolute mess, as was contract negotiations.
Yeah, but what was our xg from open play?

It was an awful time. To be fair, I think Arteta first 2 seasons were probably worst. Didn't we lose something like 13 games in both his first 2 seasons.
You got to feel for wolves. They get seriously screwed over by the refs

Not like there were empty stadiums due to a worldwide pandemic to deal with castor. And he still won us an FA Cup with a terrible squad, in his first managerial job. People still had the audacity to complain we did it by being defensive.
He's worked through all that to get us to where we are now. Don't get me wrong, he isn't infallible. Neglecting the attack is a big issue, but at the same time it's very difficult aswell.

Arsenal fans couldn't get Arteta out after b2b 8th places, you think they will for not winning the Carabao Cup???
I was asking Cast...
OH!!!!!!
All still depressed from realising we're not winning the league
I told you we were in a top 4 race ages ago and yet got verbally abuse for saying it 😟
You tell us that every year though
What about the Top 8 is NOT a Trophy bantz?
