We aren’t signing 2 strikers, unless Eddie leaves. And I can’t imagine we will be breaking the bank on a top replacement for Eddie. Prepare to be underwhelmed
I'm also not sure exactly where I would fall on us taking a punt on someone like Omi or Scamacca vs us signing Jesus.
If we did go that route and they went the Pepe way, we'd just be relying on Eddie for goals

Right. That's my impression as well. We may get Jesus and being done with it upfront.
We dont do what we need to do to close the gap between us and the big boys.
Apparently Fiorentina told Torreira they're not signing him, what a bunch of s
Now lets see what perfectly good offer Torreira turns down this summer because he doesn't fancy it
We might aswell keep Torreira not even joking. Our squad is already tiny and our CM options are average. He could do a job in the Europa too
I'd just chuck him in the U23s if he continues to be a child
Play Torreira in the u12s, that way he might get through a game without being bullied and crying. Still would be one of the shortest on the pitch though.
What I really dont understand is why Eddie is able to held us to ransome over a new contract.
Why does it take us so long to extend his contract if we really want him to stay?
Dont get me wrong. It's Eddie's right to haggle about a new contract. But I think it should be an easy decision.
Eddie's cultural stats might be in high demand
"Know that I did all my best to be able to continue being part of this club, but unfortunately there were those who, working to my understanding in a bad way, managed to prevent this from happening and that's why I have to leave."
Is this a dig at us for not letting him go for half of the agreed upon option price?
I mean it's a pretty easy decision. Yes or no Eddie?
He had time enough to decide now.

I suspect Eddie wants £90k a week and Arsenal's offer is not near that. Hence the delay. Arsenal sort of issued a final offer to Eddie and he probably expected more but had already issued the 'I want to stay' statement. I won't be surprised if his agent is trying survey other clubs on their offers before signing.

If that is the case we should have moved on already.
There is no big club who will pay him anywhere near 90 or 100K a week.
How long are we waiting. My patience is up now.

Look his agent wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't trying to find someone to pay him £90k or £100k (what was reported in the papers) before he accepts whatever we are offering.
I think Eddie knows that whoever we sign will be getting paid far more and so likely to be first choice.
Which is why I've thought for a while that the reports its done are probably not true. Obviously we now know that Eddie wants to stay so its a negotiation. And that always has lots of sticking points like clauses, bonus payments, release clauses etc.

I dont blame him or his agent to get money out from Arsenal. No problem from my side but why does it take to long to commit his future he suppose to love.
And it's taken a few weeks now and it is holding the club back.
