As much as I think holding is a great lad, and food for the dressing room, he sticks out like a sore thumb when compared to our other CB's. The only time I'm comfortable with him playing is when we go 3 ATB protecting a lead.

He should go if we get any serious interest for him.

Holding is food for the dressing room?

I said when he signed that White would be better at RB. He shifts across to form a back 3, tucks into midfield and occasionally overlaps. Does it all comfortably, all while building play and stopping counters extremely well.

I think he is artetas wet dream at RB.

His market value is fack all, but his wages are greater than most teams would be willing to give him on top of the transfer fee and all the rest.
Holding signing a contract extension is most definitely a barrier to him leaving.

Thats the calculation the club makes. Arsenal gave Holding an extension knowing full well he is worth a lot and not 'fack all".

Especially for Ben White 😉

So Newcastle bid for him, so in response Arsenal turned it down and gave Holding an extension because they wanted to "protect his market value" . That makes great sense, his value goes down, Newcastle are no longer interested and Holding becomes harder to sell.

The truth is Arteta wanted/wants to keep Holding.

Depends how long Holding is happy to be a fill in player for really.

Next season, all being well, he'll have even less opportunities to start for us than he has during the past couple of years.

Will he be happy being the 'great guy to have around' or will he want more?

And if we do win the title. Or at least be in the Champions League I am sure there will be a lot more clubs interested in him.

Mertesacker denied claims he could be Bierhoff's successor at the DFB. "No one talked to me yet" said Mertesacker. "I have a good job at Arsenal and me and my family are happy in England".

He said further that he things that Bierhoff's position need to be split into two position and the job as a leader of the DFB academy need to be in one hand.

He hasnt ruled out taking Bierhoff's job though if he would be asked.

National allegiances aside, either Saka and Ramsdale, or Saliba are coming home tonight.

Purely from an Arsenal perspective who would you prefer it to be?

From a purely arsenal perspective, Saka. Ramsdale and Saliba aren't starters.

Saliba.

I want Saka to win the world cup and destroy the premier league in super confident glory.

Saka, as he is the only one actually doing anything. The other two are having a holiday
