DJ can laugh all he wants, why else would Saka be taken off. Southgate must’ve lost the plot otherwise to take of his best player

Saka was subbed off about the same time every game he started.

Yesterday was the longest Saka has played at this world cup.
Previously he had been subbed off after 71, 78 and 65 minutes. But getting subbed after 79 minutes means he is injured

posted on 11/12/22

But why was he subbed off when he was England best on the night? Was he tired, cos he didn’t look it. As I say, Southgate made a blunder

posted on 11/12/22

Because Englands strength is in the wide attacking positions and Southgate wanted the goal threat of Sterling. Why he didn't put Rashford on for Foden earlier than he did is a bigger question.

Good morning fellas. What a lovely day

On the bright side. Going out means we can still afford Saka. Give him a new contract ffs.

So, is the frustration over the shambolic refereeing performance last night going to make things better, or worse for Saka when the PL resumes?

Saka is a star now. Hopefully that gives him some protection.

Dixon commentary however shows what we are facing. Saka wins the penalty. Foden gets the credit.

Every mention of Saka is proceeded by Foden. So when Saka is praised its Saka and Foden. No one has one talked about how disappointing Foden has been this world cup. I think only Darren Lewis in the Mirror has singled Saka out as being as good as any French player, be it Griezmann or Mbappe. On par with some of the greatest players in the world.

I believe it comes from City's dominance. So any player who plays for them must be the best in the world.

Arsenal really need to break this. I've been downplaying our position in the premier league so far this season. Not anymore tbh. I desperately want us to win the title now.

Saka was by far the best player on the pitch last night. Thought Walker did a good job keeping Mbappe quiet, whilst Hernadez had no idea how to deal with Saka.

Foden grew into the game, whilst Saka was on it from the first minute.

I didn't understand the timing of the substitutions, or bringing on Mount. If anything it should've been Grealish replacing Foden, and Rashford Saka.

I guess Saka and Ramsdale will fly straight to Dubai now, rather than coming home first?

Maybe following a little holiday

Ramsdale seems to be good mates with White.

Wonder if he also thinks Southgate is a douche now?

posted on 11/12/22

Doubt Ramsdale cares tbh. After watching Pickford trying to save a shot 40 yards+ out probably thinks its only a matter of months before he is no.1

posted on 11/12/22

Agreed.

My first thought for the first France goal was 'Ramsdale saves that!'.

In fairness Pickford had a decent tournament. I mean, I don't trust the guy tbh, so I wasn't expecting much from him really. He was better than expected.

But England needs better than him.

I don't even think Walker kept Mbappe quiet tbh. If I remember correctly, there were only two duel 1-on-1 between the two the whole match.
The reason Mbappe was quiet is because Saka was giving nightmare to Hernandez so he couldn't link with his teammate

Ramsdale isnt a particularly good shot stopper tbh.

He'd have defo saved that shot but then let one trickle into his nearpost 5 mins later

Congrats IAWT.

The luckier team won the game yesterday but it doesnt matter. It's all about winning games and getting results. That's what the French team did allthough I thought they were technically superior to England.
