Pepe is finished. So are the others that don’t play

We couldn't find anyone to take Pepe on a free and Arteta clearly doesn't rate him at all and will make him rot on the bench. So I doubt he'll add any value whatsoever to us. As it is, if we can find any free takers who could take him off our wage bill, the club would have done well.

What baffles me is it's not like Pepe had a terrible loan spell. Was a regular starter for Nice last season till he got injured and absolutely nobody will take any chance on him. His record for us is no worse than average for a wide player (better than average even) though certainly not worth the fee we paid for him.

For some very weird reason, Arsenal constantly have problems shifting deadwood that other clubs don't seem to have. With us, it's a consistent pattern. The number of signings we've released on frees over the years is pretty shocking and a major reason we have the most abysmal record of player sales in the league and have very high net spends.
