Partey is not seen as a permanent RB, he is a squad player who can fill in at full back, cover Rice, and even play alongside him in some games where a 0-0 is a good result.

Jorginho is also back up for Rice.

Jorginho is a very different player to Rice. I don't think he can break up the play higher up and get back into position. Actually, think Jorginho/Rice or Jorginho/Partey are better for a 2 sitting CM formation.

My fear is we are in trouble if Ben White is injured. I suppose Tomi can do that, but he is an unknown quantity in the RCB position.

I think we'd be fine with a youngster, but I don't think we have a RB/RCB ready to step up. We have been linked a load of CBs recently, so let's see if any of them are genuine links. They sort of made me think Arsenal knew that Holding was definitely going today!

Only Hojlund is very unlikely to start... but, hey, don't let that interupt your stream of misery. It is amazing how you bounce from one despair to another. Please do the right thing and go and find something you can get even the smallest bit of joy out of, because football isn't it.

I don't think I ever singled Holding out last season, if anything I think he played at the higher end of his ability compared to the players around him. Yes, we suffered because he couldn't play the same way as Saliba, but that doesn't make him a 4m player. I think he would be a Craig Dawson level CB for about 12 clubs in the league, for another 5-6 years. For me, that's worth more that 4m, but obviously not many other clubs in the league felt the same.
