Yup

Merino too often dispossed. Saw a stat which wasnt good.

Obviously depends on the asking price. I prefer Ruiz as well because he is more versatile. But we don't know who Arteta prefers.

Xhaka is better than Merino

Xhaka was very good playing in the no.8 position, but he still lacked pace and wasn't able to cover. Rice was a major upgrade to Xhaka last season and the main reason why we had the best defensive record in the league. I really can't see Arteta moving Declan back to no.6 unless he wanted to compliment him with an out-and-out attacking no.8 like Olmo. So I think whoever we buy will be cover for Declan Rice in no.8 position rather than starting.

At what? I've never really seen merino play, just going off what I read about him.

Ezequiel Fernandez looks a very interesting move. I think he may be cover for Partey/Jorginho.
