yes.

Issue is his €11m/season salary which Arsenal are in a position to take on. Only needs will tbh.

Obviously, Arteta is not known to handle big egos. That is the bigger problem, when really it is these type of players who win you big titles.

Morning everyone.

Managed to watch most of the match (from a minute after we scored 😐). Thought we played okay, but the entire evening - not only our performance, but the atmosphere in the ground - seemed to be overshadowed by Saka’s absence.

Our dominance was borderline ridiculous. Still being nervous in the 88th minute about the possibility of dropping points was completely ridiculous!

1 or 2 of the other chances we created go in and it probably all feels very different this morning. But it’s hard not to worry, especially given Jesus was the only forward that came off early last night, and how many matches our front line will have to play between them during the next couple of months.

Important to keep the powder dry

If we don't win the title it's because of lack of recruitment in the forward line.

I do think we are too slow in the build up, we need to move the ball quicker, also Martinelli needs more support as he's not going to do what saka does there, i didn't think he played too bad in the 2nd half

We need to play more conventionally with overlapping fullbacks if we're going to stretch the opposition more than we're doing and allow Martinelli and Trossard play more on the inside, and provide more service to the strikers. We've looked really laboured in our build-up play all season. We're like 8th in the league for goals scored from open play behind teams like Fulham and Brentford, and for a while, we seemed most dangerous at set-pieces.

Can't remember the last time Odegaard scored from open play.

For sure, our summer business was pretty nuts. It looked nuts even then, but looks even more nuts in hindsight. We already weren't blessed with much attacking depth (only Trossard for much of the last 2 years could come from the bench to impact games). But to lose ESR, Nelson, Nketiah and Fabio Viera and just sign Sterling on loan was pretty facking mad. I'd have been more than happy if we didn't sign Merino and Calafiori if we could have strengthened in attack. Yes, I believed this at the time, and it's not a hindsight thing.

Ode had one run into the box. Teams are going to pay even more attention to him without Saka, not less. So I really don't expect his goal scoring to get any better.

I think its time Arteta started using Ethan wide right a bit more.
