THE Arsenal Thread

Mikel Arteta sends huge message to the Arsenal board in his press conference today:

“We have certain limitations and we have a lot of gaps and a lot of things to cover to become the team that we want, and then the availability of those players - Can you afford them? Even if you want to it’s sometimes been not possible.

“Compared to what other clubs have done in terms of spending, we are really out of touch.”

There isn't much difference with Liverpool owners and Arsenal's, they didn't buy who they needed, Liverpool have a good attack and have been quite lucky with their injuries (compared to last year), if by some chance they don't win the league you will see their fans revolt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think thats true. Liverpool actually have a much higher wage bill. That they can't afford with the new ffp rules. Thats why I think they will find it hard to retain vvd, salah and taa. I do think they can spend because of years of CL money that gives them good psr.

We have the opposite problem imo. Our psr has not been good because this is only our second year back in CL football but our wages (ffp) is quite good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal in fact have a much higher wage bill than Liverpool by around £50m per year. Arsenal are the third highest spenders in wages behind the Manchester clubs. Liverpool are in fifth. There is absolutely no truth that Liverpool can't increase the wage bill due to PSR. Liverpool are in an extremely healthy position in this regard and outside of buying players are actively working on increasing the wage bill with three of the already top earners contracts expiring at the end of the season.

Your tea lady is paid £30k a year, not £3m a year. Even your CEO is less than the players. Just like our staff.

And your point is immaterial anyway because FFP/PSR is calculated on accounts submitted. Not crapology.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually they have not and Arsenal's haven't increased much. Neither club has had huge player turnover. Arsenal have bought Kai and Rice who both on less than £300k a week. Arsenal have wage cap of £275k, but even if you want to believe we have pay more than the cap it only comes to abt £15m x 2 = £30m+ that takes Arsenal to abt £260m. You have had more player coming in.

Dominik Szoboszlai €70.00m
Alexis Mac Allister €42.00m
Ryan Gravenberch €40.00m
Wataru Endo €20.00m

With only two exits: Fabinho and Hendersen

Your most expensive players are still at your club.

The new accounts are with PSR at this moment. They will be released in a few months. 23-24.

PSR stops any club adding £50m+ of salaries. And you have NOT sold your top earners. That may of course change if Salah/VVD/Trent all leave.

posted 24 minutes ago

Club accounts are published and legally audited. There aren't two books for players/staff.
