Maybe they are. I am just happy that Arsenal linked to strikers. Suggests they are back in the market for one.

I just hope the links aren't being put out by club mouthpieces just to appease the fans. I suspect that was why the Zubi news broke.

Good to see a NLD win hasn't stopped the doom and gloom merchants Castor and Sheriff from spreading their misery onto this thread.

I've never honestly heard Arteta say specifically about a striker but even as a neutral I'd hope you will take a bash a one, whether it be a short term application or a longer term perspective you could really do with one atm? Would make a huge difference moving forward this season

He didn't say striker yesterday, but he said this to Rio

------
TNT Sports pundit Ferdinand had speculated about Arsenal needing a striker earlier in the show and later put the question to Arteta himself.

The Spaniard replied: "Yes, for sure. Because we lost two players, big players, Bukayo [Saka], who can be out for up to three months, that’s a long time, and Gabby, who is going to be out for a long, long, long time."

When asked if Arsenal would attempt to secure a new striker before the end of January, he added: "We are going to try for sure. We are actively looking at [a new forward]. I think we have lost two very, very important players, we have 14 players in the squad, and we play every three days. We will try but let’s see who we can get."

To be fair all games considered that was one of your toughest, derbies usually are and you got the three points, throw on a striker and you're right amongst it imo

Honestly we got into so many positions where we got near the box but instead of trying to get across the defender Havertz just seemed to be hiding. So not only does it give us nothing to aim for but it also doesn't move the CBs around at all.

I get he's low on confidence and was probably wary of getting another sitter to miss, but at the level we need that just isn't acceptable. We need someone to take the heat off him, let him play his more natural game and build himself back up.

At this point our situation is more than Havertz. What if he is injured, suspended or even ill? Who can play striker? Mertsacker/Edu let Obi go. We literally don't have another striker in the club. Can't see Trossard/Marti doing anything against CBs. They have enough issues with fullbacks.

I still can't believe havertz is the highest paid player at the club.

One of the worst signings at the emirates

Buying a sesko alone will not be enough.

We need 2 attacking players this windows with a forward being able to play on the right side

Saka injury aside I'd have thought a forward on the left would have been a better call?

Trossard, Martinelli and Sterling are all better on the left. Nwaneri isn't a bad option to have on the right but against a physical and quick left back, he will struggle.

A striker and a saka replacement is required

I think we need someone who can come in as a starter on the left but with the ability to play on the right from time to time.

Otherwise I wouldn't pay much attention. He might genuinely be a bot just posting the same variations of doom and gloom nonsense on a schedule.
