I feel Pod has a major motivational problem. But I think Wenger saw getting into the World Cup squad has motivated him quite a bit.

Thats why he didn't make the concerted effort to get a striker. Though it is reported Wenger did make last ditch bids for Rooney and Benteke.

So will Bendtner play a part this season?

£55,000 pw? He fecking well better play a part. Useless caaant.

I think we'll be back in for a striker in Jan. Would have liked to have bagged one this Window, but i suppose dealing with one World Class player was quite enough for Arsenal.

Main problem w/ Pod up front is that for all his good finishing, he doesn't have a CFs movement at all.
His rebound goal vs Fulham summed him up, drifting in and arriving late. He wouldn't have made the run Giroud made for his goal in the NLD.
Pod up front is an emergency solution but not a good plan B.

Yeah, depends how we get on really. Would be a big disaster if Giroud gets injured but then again

OZIIILLLLLLLLLL!!!

I would imagine Walcott is now our second choice striker, ahead of Pod. His movement, pace would be perfect for Ozil's magical passing.

So does this mean we like Gunnerthru more than IAWT now?
Germany > France

Ozil is Turkish. I'm sticking to that.

Not much width in this team, but:

-----------Arteta---------Flamini------------
----Cazorla-----Ozil----Wilshere----------
---------------Giroud/Theo-------------------

Ozil is backup to Ramsey , Serial.

Having made bids for Rooney and Benteke on the final day I suspect we go back for a striker in Jan.

Please Chris. Now is not the time to joke. Now is the time to fecking gloat at opposition fans and shout at thier face "WE'VE GOT OZIL AHAHAHAHA FECKERS HAHAHAH"

J99, i don't think we actually made bids for Rooney or Benteke, or else we would have heard about it.

Terrible transfer window in the end. Needed a striker or a winger

Oh feck off with the negativity!!

Wilshere get in ahead of Theo.

We have ZERO pace in the team. I would wrap Wacott in cotton wool. He is by far the most crucial player in the team. This is why Wenger went for Draxler and Di Maria. We are way too reliant on Theo to provide the cutting edge.

Without pace, it doesn't matter if you fill the team with Kaka, Cesc, Iniesta and Xavi, its easy to defend!

We did hear abt it today. It was on the radio in the morning drive to work. The fact that Liverpool leaked the Suarez bid is the exception to the rule. Generally bids are kept very quiet. Especially on the last day because if they fail, players have to stay at their respective clubs. But info invariably gets leaked the following day. Its similar to our Gotze bid a few years ago. No one is sure tat we bid but its now becoming apparent we did.

Serial, I'm not. Im over the moon with Ozil signing but we still lack squad depth

Surprised we didn't spend at least 100m last night.

Don't know J99. It's all ITK gossip. No one really knows, and now the window is shut, no one cares. Personally i'm sick to death with ITKs.

Fubo, agree. We've not really addressed the main issues. But no point in going on about that now. We have a thin squad, which we now need to use to its best potential.

Wenger has to be on top form this season. Tactically he has to be spot on. It's encouraging because he got the tactics for the Spurs match spot on.

Only in the striker position, but Giroud isn't injury prone and if he does get injured we can use Walcott or Pod, not the worst thing in the world.

We need people to come off the bench and make an impact

It's quite crucial to read into why Ozil came to Arsenal. Apparently PSG offered him a bigger deal, and he rejected. United were interested a while ago, yet he shunned them.

Ozil was clearly swayed by the Wenger factor. I doubt he would have rejected United if Fergie was in charge. Looks like the old goat still has the ability to attract top players.

Wenger to sign a contract extension?
