You don't change the system unless you are bloody sure you have a Bergkamp, or a Vieira, or a Henry, or Cesc. A player you can build a team around.
No chance we change the system for an average striker from France with little exceptional skill.
Now Ozil on the other hand may require shuffling the system. And more likely than not, I suspect Wenger will try to get Theo to play even more on the inside like C.Ronaldo and to bring in a fast striker to compliment him.

I cant make my point clear. I think you want to misunderstand me per se, J99. Not angry or something but that isnt why I wanted a change of style.
Fack Giroud....but him on the bench in Covent Garden. Its not about him. Its about a guy who plays upfront as a lone striker.....It doesnt work. We are too predictable the whole season long.

I dont want us to built a team around one player again....nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Even with a full, injury free squad, We still need a new striker
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not only one....I think we should get two. If really something is on the rumour with Drmic then we will need another striker with more quality.

Chelsea.

Chelsea yes....but they operate with Hazard/Oscar on the flanks as well....so they mixed it at times.

single-mindedness of the approach during those few games just made our play predictable and easy to nullify. Then van Persie hit a patch of form, and they started doing it to him.
-------------------------
KPPR I don't think that happens. And in fact you are ignoring what the opposition does. Quite often its opposing managers who find a method of defending that works against a particular style and adapt to any one player they need to pay attention to. Football is team game.

But the point I'm making is that Arsenal make easy for them, by finding one effective avenue and overusing it. If you look at City, for example, you see goals and assists being littered evenly between the likes of Toure, Silva, Navas and Nasri. They don't just play through Silva all the time, or over-rely on Toure - they use all of the different avenues to which they have access, and it keeps things fresh and varied. Arsenal are the polar opposite - let's say Ramsey hits form; for the next few games it's a simple case of 'give it to Ramsey and he'll sort it out' and the likes of Podolski, Ozil and Cazorla end up underused. Defences pick up on it very quickly and you see the effectiveness of the approach fade before your eyes.
RVP is a good example. He was our main striker and as we play with a lone striker he automatically became a focal point of our attacks. Now one reason our play looks more disjointed since he has left is because of the drop in quality in his replacement. You cannot change style of play to accommodate that drop in quality so our attacking plays has been badly affected for two years now.
===
RVP is actually a very bad example, because he was such a freak of nature. He was the most outrageously talented striker we ever had, and he could have dragged any team into a top four place.

Oh give it a facking rest GT.
only discussing football
There were times this season when we switched the system a little and it worked... without changing formation though
West Ham away for instance... Pod comes off the bench and giving us him and Theo on the wings, the game was won in minutes
He may know it. But he wont act and get it done.
Why not wait until the summer then. The guy is not blind.
