Not the same. He is going for a header with his leg flailing out. Nani's foot was high to control the ball. Nani's eye was on the ball the entire time. Would be different if Arbeloa and Nani were straight on. But with Arbeloa coming from behind him, Nani cant pull out in time.

it was a foul and a harsh red card, i can just see why the ref gave it, he thought it was over the top

=====================================

A far more sensible comment.

I can understand why the ref gave it. I completely disagree with him and his interpretation, though.

In the prem this might not have been a red but in Europe there is a more strict view and the players know this so trying to control a ball with both feet off the ground with one up in Arbeloa's midrift is asking for trouble.

Yea, I'm Irish.

I've heard a few ex players say it and they are right, we may complain about the standard of ref's in the PL but they are better then their European counterparts who give free kicks and particularly yellow cards for very little.

Suso

This is excessive or un-necessary force. No red card here!

i know there wasnt... doesnt mean everyone can do that though..

And the point of the article wasn't to bloody argue whether or not it was a red! Just to discuss why Keane got so bloody angry about it and seems to hate everything United these days. I know his time didn't end well at United but his behaviour last night was ridiculous.

If you were cooped up with Adrian Chiles, Lee Dixon, Gareth Southgate and Andy Townsend, you'd do anything to facilitate a move elsewhere!

Keane for Talksport? God could you imagine having to sit between Andy Townsend and Adrian Chiles? I think I'd rather kill myself.

Says it all about modern football when you get a red card for an honest attempt to bring the ball down. Accidental collision.

Patriarch, Keane was like this in the Euro's too but next season if Carra joins ITV he won't have the nodding dog's like Southgate and Dixon to debate with.

I don't know JSPC, if Arsenal or Celtic are on ITV I might just put up with the suffering long enough to watch them get humiliated. I know that always makes me feel better.

Were you really more incensed with Keane last night then back in 02?

I love Roy Keane my favourite ever Irish player and I understand to an extent why he left in 02 but I was so dissapointed in him then as I felt whatever the reasons ahe could have stayed and played for us, the fans. Just struck me as odd that comments about a sending off have got to you more then our captain leaving us on the eve of a major tournamanet.

red666 is banned now racist

posted on 6/3/13

I don't think he was being intentional, he just shortened his name and it came out a bit racist

posted on 6/3/13

RVP how can you not know what it shortens too.

Everyone reads what they type out. Come on. It was intentional.

He could have easily put 'Kash' or 'Kash P'

posted on 6/3/13

Ball's RVP, if he wanted to shorten my name then he should have kept it as kash which is what everyone else does.

Fair enough, not going to defend him for it but trying to see two sides to every argument. I'm Arab myself and been subject to a few petty jibes on here
