Apparently the guys here are looking to recruit a javascript developer, and people are turning down 60-70k a year. Could definitely do with a qualification in something like that, no doubt it'd help. It is something I'd probably look at doing in a few years.

I'm support as well Nani. Started off doing what you do about 10 years ago!

True Dunc, not all students waste the funding they recieve but basically its a cultural thing we have here. I think a lot of people who are born and brought up in the UK and I include myself in this do not know how to save and spend within their means. They earn £500 but wil spend £499 and end up having no money for the rest of the week/month. Its ridiculous and its no way to live. My parents and probably a lot of other peoples parents and the older generation are the opposite, they wil plan what they spend and only spend within their means rather than blowing it all within a week. Whereas the workers who come from the eastern european countries do not act like this. They value the money they earn a little more than we do.

Sooner the better jay, honestly. That course and a bit of experience, you'll fly. My motto was always 20s for learning, 30s for earning. Working well so far!

I'm working towards getting CCNA certification in my spare time so that I can get the big bucks one day

From the way I've been told about it, my dad gets offered several jobs a day, and he reckons if he left this place tonight, he could be in another job on Monday - Though I'm not sure how serous a claim that is, and he has one hell of a cv behind him from what I've read. Apparently it gets easier the more jobs you've had

Agreed Mr C, I generally absolute hate spending, end up saving a load. That then means can basically buy anything I want, when I want it if it takes my fancy.

Always. If you've got a load of jobs behind you and you keep getting more, you obviously know what you are doing. Its the same as I seemed to get more female admirers after I got married

Though in hindsight, buying the computer that almost killed me was a bit of a mistake

Going the networks route nani? You wanting to stay technical then and not do management?

I've got a fairly big thing spurring me on though MB, when me and my mate were at college we had a bet to see who would be the first one earning 30k a year. He didn't want to go to uni, so he went in to a dead end job, while I spent the extra 3 years learning.

He since got sacked for stealing computer equipment from the place When I think of how his life is turning out, it makes me smile

I problem with having loads of jobs on your CV is that if they are all for a short time and not temp jobs, employers may be unwilling to hire you.

Networking is big bucks, but if something goes wrong you're the first person that is going to get ballacked

That's the plan. I have a technical mind and would never make a good manager as I have a complete lack of a-r-s-e kissing skills.

Ha! The one flip side I would say to that Jay is that I took a couple of jobs purely because they were more money. Sometimes, it is not the best way to go. I ended up doing less than I was previously yet getting paid more for it. Now, some people would think that is brilliant. To me though, it wasn't helping me to progress or reach the next ladder at all if that makes sense.

I do know what you mean nani. From my experience, a-r-s-e kissing only gets people so far though, when they start having to actually make decisions, they always get found out.

It seems to me that all the management here ever do is sit in endless meetings, and bug gar all gets done.

I get loads done in meetings, Jay. Just the other day, I had a meeting and managed to draw the best stick man Elvis I have ever done...

and post a few comments on here too I just sit there and try not to tell the content people that they're being idiots. We did a mobile app the other week, which originally had been planned for release a month later. The next day (Friday) They decided it was going out on the next Monday, so we had 2-3 weeks work to cram in to 2 days! Literally had the entire department working on it, and dropped everything else. All because content had fecked up somehow.

And they keep sending us things incorrectly. Drives me up the wall, but I'm not senior enough to go and punch someone

Same here. Must be a universal management thing
