You only drop somebody if another player is knocking at the door. The way Gervinho should have been dropped for Arshavin, Mertesacker dropped for Koscielny, Giroud dropped for Podolski.

Yeah, and van Persie proved those people wrong. Sagna hasn't exactly done that, has he? Jenko was one of our best players, why should he be dropped? Chamakh wasn't exactly pulling up trees before he was replaced either.

he had 1 poor game. he was our best player (arguably) v spurs.

It would be disrespectful to drop sagna after a couple of bad games after coming back from injury. Keeping in mind the service he's given us for 5 years now
