When Arab tried to explain that the situations aren't the same, he and other United fans were accused of defending SAF no matter what.
.......................

I am trying to put gentle hints in about the SAF topics... I feel it is slowly streaming into their subconscious as we speak.

What I am trying to say is on one hand I sympathise and understand what you are going through. On the other hand I am desperate to lay the boot in now and again because you guys (Liverpool fans in general being some of the worst for it) have never missed to the chance to get us with any of these sticks and beat us...

kneerash I don't know if this means anything from me or not but macca genuinely isn't that type of guy from what I know of him and in fairness to him I may have called that game a hillsborough memorial had I remarked on it (perhaps mistakenly)

United Red

Look mate, you used the term to have a pop at Suarez, I know that, you know that, I think everyone who reads your numerous comments referring to the game with such a term will see what you were doing.

It's distateful and you should be ashamed, I feel sorry for you.

And I never said I was at the game, you have just invented that as well, no doubt in order to try and make me look as if I have no class/taste!

Give it up man, you are just making it worse, making stuff up never looks good on a forum like this.

Sorry for the repost but this was too much effort for an end of page post!

Arab, you're a decent poster so hopefully we can have a reasonable debate.
...............................

Sorry I was in unreasonable mode to make a point, it has been somewhat made so I will resort back to what I actually think now.

Firstly Suarez is nowhere near as big a villain as he is made out to be. Neither is SAF.

I was shocked to hear that they did a special montage just for Suarez showing the bad things he did, I am sure there are a fair few players who could have looked just as bad should they have done a montage for them. United got their own montage one year when we won the premiership, showing all the wrong decisions that went our way. Only time it is ever happened, never before or never since.

Everything he does is huge huge news so he does the slightest thing wrong and everyone knows about it, it becomes a talking point and generates discussion which mean people are much more likely to remember it. Whenever United get a decision wrongly given in their favour it is bigger news, generates discussion.

What I am trying to say is on one hand I sympathise and understand what you are going through. On the other hand I am desperate to lay the boot in now and again because you guys (Liverpool fans in general being some of the worst for it) have never missed to the chance to get us with any of these sticks and beat us...

That isn't to say it is you personally FJM but you get my point.

You posting sentimental statements makes no difference
-------------------------
oh my god

You will literally stop at nothing to defend him

I can only imagine you were not born at the time, or at least didn't witness it like those of us old enough to.

Sentimental statements? Go fuc yourself.

Fair enough if you say so fatjan but why refer to the game as that then immediatley go on to say Suarez has no class? That makes absolutley no sense and all I'd like is an explanation as to why he phrased it this way. It's like he's suggesting that Luis feigned injury in this game and therefore he lacks any sort of class? That's point scoring in my book unless he can come back with a reasonable reason for phrasing it as he did.

Also for the villians I was supposed to include Rooney, Ronaldo and Beckham in that list, all United players and all public enemy no.1 at some point..

There are sensible posters of all clubs and we all generalise. Of course not all.

My point was SAF not shaking hands with Rafa is petty bit the situation is not the same as the previous one he comented on. And on that he cannot be accused of hypocracy (there are, I am sure, other cases where he can). But not on this case.

On Suarez himself, if he takes out the diving in his games, fans of other teams will come round and enjoy him as a player rather than looking at and focusing on his bad side.

To repeat: If he takes out the diving (and cheating) then he'd go up in a lot of people's estimation.

And it would help you lot win more freekicks and pens when he is fouled.

The game was not promoted as a memorial match.

The clubs laid flowers before the kick off, but it was never advertised as some sort of memorial match. I have never heard it referenced like that before, and I doubt anyone else as either.

I don't for one minute believe that Macca unintentionally used that term as a set-up to demonize Suarez, it was all too obvious, as if he was thinking, hmmm how else can I make Suarez look bad, I know, he feigned injury against United during the game that was played after the Hillsborough verdict was released, tick tock tick tock...pathetic!

posted on 12/3/13

Hang on redmacca I'm not defending Suarez in this situation I'm calling you out on what you said, explain it and I'll say fair enough.

You posted all the sentimantal stuff after I called you out on it then you somehow try to defend the comments by saying I'll do anything to defend Suarez all the while convienently avoiding answering the question I've asked.

Also I'm 31, I was 8 when Hillsborough happened and was aware of it but not old enough to fully comprehend what happened. I'm old enough now though and know plenty on what occured so don;t try to lecture me whwn you're the one bringing it up, I'll accecpt allot of things on here but don't patronise me.

...and no, I registered yesterday, and it wasn't me who brought Hillsborough up, it was your mate Macca.

So, if you want to have a go at someone I suggest you start with him, not me! I am just pointing out his use of an odd term which he then used to castigate Suarez as lacking class.

posted on 12/3/13

Ohh yeah, people still think Rooney is a violent thug liable to go off at any moment, the diving tag is also a very hard one to lose as every challenge that results in a fall your always looked at suspiciously and some will say dive without even finding out for sure...

it was the memorial Hillsborough game and Suarez certainly lacks class. Good player though.

Arab

Macca was clearly using Hillsborough to point score
--------------------
Fek u

I've signed petitions, donated money and taken flowers

I'm just a common football fan but I know right from wrong

i was around back then

i know what fans were like. I was one of them

Still does not excuse what happened and I've been a massive supporter of JFT96 you fekkin nobhed

I wish I'd never called our game a Hillsborogh Memorial now

it's strange though that when a couple of scousers did the Munich aeroplane bollox, and then United fans sang the victim song, our board was bombarded with 'disrespect for such an occasion' threads

trying to turn this back on me because suarez feigned an injury so the game had fek all to do with Hillsborough?

Does he really mean that much to you?

posted on 12/3/13

Still avoiding my question Macca, why use that game as an example when as you seem happy to point out Suarez does this all the time.

This is the 4th or 5th time I've asked and you are still avoiding it, says it all really.

You can wax lyrical all you like about donations, the JTF96 campagin etc. Still doesn't explain why you used that game to make your point, and more importnantly used that game followed with 'Suarez has no class'.

Still waiting

There was absolutely no reason to refer to the game in question as some sort of tribute/memorial for Hillsborough
***

but it was and it was well promoted as that. Even Fergie wrote letters to all the United fans attending warning them of their behaviour. There was a well orchestrated floral ceremony on the pitch before the game involving Charlton. I cant think a better way of describing that particular game between Liv and United.

------------------
Save it mate

He will stop at nothing to defend his man and I just disrespect the Hillsborough dead just to prove a point

he can go fek himself for all i care

trying to deny that game was not about the 96 is an utter joke

Done with this. Maybe Joe can get me an autograph on Suarez's halo

posted on 12/3/13

Still waiting Macca all I wan't is an explanation as to why you said it like you did.
You also just made it worse by slating someone for saying the game had nothing to do with the 96 yet using this game as the specific example to bash Suarez!!!

Double standards.

Ok

Because I thought faking a fekkin head injury at an occasion to mark such an event was in poor taste

If I'm wrong, so be it

But I think it was wrong so fekkin sue me

So may suffered that day and when I was watching Suarez pretend in the game, it made me sick.

This has fek all to do with point scoring, it's to do with how I felt that day

If it had been any United player or any other Liverpool player, I would have said exactly the samer thing, and felt just as sick

Sorry

But that day, to me, was not a day to pretend you were injured

hate me all you want for it and accuse me of what you want, i really do not care

It is how I felt on the day and no amount of bollox is going to make me pretend I didn't feel that way
But I'm wrong of course.. It is Luis suarez we're talking about
