Bit weird to quit in that circumstance, probs connection

posted on 16/8/13

It was still early and the connection wasn't great. It went during the celebration

I go out in the second round to Valerenga thanks to some UT-esque BS. Son's volley hit the bar before he took the lead thanks to a penalty. It was stupid to dive in but could have not been given, and even though I was holding up on the analogue stick which would've saved the penalty my keeper dived top left and Abdellaoue chipped it. I was holding up Kim Shin Wook headed us level but I brought the keeper too far out from a corner and Gonzalez headed him back in front. I had more chances, hit the post in the second half and could easily have had a penalty and a free kick which were fouls as much as the penalty but weren't given.

Back in the first round, beat Brazil 3-2 with Belgium. Poor defending from him, de Bruyne opened the scoring, Benteke made it 2-0 and a lovely ball roll followed by a chop set up Mirallas nicely to make it 3-0. He got goals back with Hulk and Gustavo to make the scoreline more respectable.

Spain 6-0 Spain. Nice and easy. Spain didn't stand a chance as they were torn apart by my Spain side. Villa put us 2-0 up with a double, Pedro added a third and I got a bit sweaty to complete Villa's hat-trick and make it 4-0. A nice free kick routine as Alba gave it to Iniesta whose cross was met by a great volley from Villa to make it 5-0. Pique headed in a sixth after the break and he quit.

Ridiculous 6-2 loss to Real Madrid. I stupidly gave it away and di Maria finished with his right foot He quickly made it 2-0 with a volley off the post. Villa got one back for me but di Maria's cross took a deflection and fell straight to Oezil who volleyed in with his right foot I got another back with Pedro but some more ridiculous rebounds ended up in Ramos scoring an own goal which was credited to Oezil for no reason Iniesta hit the bar as I dominated but couldn't find a way through late on I gave it away to Modric to score from a goal kick and stopped trying as he hit me on the counter to sweat it to di Maria for a hat-trick. Still time for Navas to hit the bar for me, absolutely nothing went my way there. Wouldn't even have minded losing by one goal but I played well.

Arsenal 3-0 Chelsea. Giroud with a header, someone got another who I forgot, Luiz was sent off and Ox got a third, he quit in injury time

First round of the cup. Porto vs. Galatasaray.

Moutinho's shot hit the post and went in off the keeper, we hit the post again, I think Rodriguez.

Second half, Moutinho's volley hits the bar and bounces on the line. Varela shoots wide and has a shot saved.

Varela with some good work to cut back to Moutinho, shot saved but Martinez puts the rebound in. Lucho's diving header goes over with the goal at his mercy, and a lovely double-sweat sees Drogba pull one back to make it 2-1.

Bit of a scramble in the box sees Martinez have a shot saved, but he then fires in from 25 yards to make it 3-1 and he quits.

Do you lot not get bored playing as 5 teams?
The highest I ever tend to go is 4 1/2 because I hate coming up against Madrid or Bayern.
Recently I've been playing with players Liverpool have been linked with, it gives a good diversity of teams

I mostly play as 4 or 4.5 too

PSG vs. Dortmund. Menez met a low cross but his close-range shot was tipped onto the bar, Lavezzi had a shot saved, but Menez powered in the only goal. He barely troubled Sirigu, only having one shot on target in the second half. Lavezzi had our best second half chance with a nice skill run and a shot saved. Into the semi final.

What a thriller. Dortmund 2-1 Man United, into the final.

Dominated from the start, Goetze's chip was saved, Lewandowski's shot was saved, I gave away a free kick which van Persie buried to give him the lead with his first chance, with my wall refusing to jump for some reason. We were denied a stonewall penalty when Goetze rouletted de Gea who blocked him, Lewandowski headed wide, RVP had a rare shot saved. Gundogan volleyed at the keeper and the rebound was tucked in by Lewandowski to make it 1-1. Reus' free kick went just wide, Goetze was twice denied by saves, the second time Reus blasted over the rebound. All that before half time

Second half, Reus' shot blocked. Reus then shot from outside the box, it was tipped onto the post, and Kuba powered in the rebound to put us 2-1 up. Lewandowski then beat Ferdinand and fired a shot in off bar to make it 3-1. Ferdinand picked up a second yellow for a foul in the box and was dismissed, but Gundogan's pen was saved by de Gea. He quit as soon as he saved it which was weird.

Back to using Porto in the final against Everton.

Our first attack saw Rodriguez cross for Martinez whose near-post header hit the post, but the rebound was scrambled in by Varela for a scrappy opener. His first attack saw Mirallas in space thanks to some misjudged defending from me, I brought Helton out but too far, and Mirallas put it into the empty net, entirely my fault. Martinez had a shot saved and Rodriguez headed the rebound wide wide. Jackson had another shot saved, headed over but then Jelavic's effort was saved, and Pienaar's poor attempt to control it saw the ball roll agonisingly into the corner. 2-1 to Everton at half time.

Martinez had another shot saved in the second half, but Varela tucked away the rebound for 2-2. Varela then had another absolutely blatant penalty denied, beating Howard with a chop and being hauled down just 10 yards out, but nothing given. Martinez then went through on goal, was forced a little wide, all the way into the box and was brought down by Howard, this time a pen was given. Lucho showed us his massive balls to chip it down the middle and do what Gundogan couldn't in the semi-final. Varela bamboozled the defence with stepovers but shot wide, Martinez headed off target and that was FT. A 3-2 win in my first final appearance

Actually for Pienaar's goal it was Pienaar's shot saved, Mangala took a stupid touch instead of clearing and Pienaar tackled it into the net. Not sure if that's better or worse. Who cares, champions

EA Cup first round. Played as Ajax against Schalke rather than for them for once. Sigthorsson had a chance saved, Babel's effort crashed off the bar, Fischer hit the post with a first-time shot. Sigthorsson met a cross with a nice near-post finish to give us the lead. Fischer soon doubled the lead with a left-footed strike across goal into the corner. Fischer then fired over before he had his best chances, Farfan's sweaty shot didn't have enough power and Draxler's shot palmed away by Vermeer.

Second half, Babel nearly got past Hildebrand but the ball bounced up and Hildebrand got back to claim it. Babel's shot was saved and Sigthorsson got his second with the rebound from a tight angle. Quit at 3-0.

At the White Hart Ground for Tottenham vs. Valencia. Don't think he was playing at the stard and Guardado had a shot saved then hit the post. Soldado's accurate shot into the corner opened the scoring for us before Alves was called into action to twice deny Bale, and then Defoe before HT.

Defoe had another chance saved, then Jonas had a header stopped by Lloris. Soldado was also denied by Lloris, but after Jonas' chip didn't have enough on it, Soldado powered into the near post with a great outside-foot shot, right into the top corner. Defoe got a sweaty goal back late on. 2-1 win a fair result, I had more of the play and was more clinical despite him having the better chances.

Wolfsburg vs. Hannover (me) in the semi-final. 1-1 draw, Diego scored a fk for him. Can't remember who scored for me. Think it was Diouf. We won 3-1 on pens.

Porto again in the final, and a routine win against Chelsea. Fernando headed us ahead from our first attack. He had a chance with Torres but was too sweaty, then Torres had a chance himself but missed. Martinez scored a lovely chip to make it 2-0, then Moutinho's chip went just wide. Oscar came close for Chelsea, but then Rodriguez was allowed to cut inside and fire in for a goal, 3-0.

Martinez and Hazard had efforts saved saved before Torres pulled one back in the second half. Martinez then finished things off by rounding Cech with a roulette and making it 4-1 with his second. EA Cup: won.

Soldado time paradox

@TomHuddlestone6: Feel mis-quoted, enjoyed my season with AVB and my whole time with spurs. If you read the quotes you get a clear picture, not the headline

Spurs were lacking a quality finisher in that game. AVB took note.

Big Huddlestone.

Got a trophy sound then the console froze. Think it was Filling Cabinets for winning a cup in seasons, but I'd already won one.

Did you see the time paradox?
