Fergie dose have history of trying to make players into something they are not. I remember him trying to turn alan smith into the next keano. Wellbeck seems to have all the attributes to be a top player but at the moment all were seeing of him is that electrifying pace and a great work ethic with the occasional flash of skill . He needs goals but if he is not having shots or getting into goal scoring opportunitys they won't come. Getting very frustrating watching him perform at the moment.

Welbeck is absolutely class, and ANY team in Europe would have him in their squad. In Spain after the two Madrid games they are absolutely salivating over him and how they don't have any young forwards in his class. Midfielders, oh yeah. But 0 forwards. I gaurentee your average Madrid fan would trade Benz or Hig for him. He is rate THAT much.

Every now and the Indian did come up with some valid points.

This was one of them. Some of our idiot fans rated Fletch ' because he 'ran around a lot'. The fact that he had very little football talent was irrelevant.

There are a lot of similarities between Fletch and Wellbeck. Danny has had a lot of game time this season, and his performances have not warrented it.

I get what he's saying here. And the person that said Welbeck is being used in a Park role is absolutely spot on.

Welbeck has potential to be a pretty good striker. Problem I find with him is that he really lacks composure and is the sort of player that thrives from having a run of games - the complete opposite of Chicha.

Too early to judge whether he's not good enough.

Up front last year he performed well, cannot say the same this year.

Playing him deeper or wide won't help his problems in front of goal as he's nt really getting into the positions to score.

He's a young lad so has time on his side. If we binned every player that had a bad/average season we'd be buying 8 players a year.
