Patriarch
I just see the media turning it into a 'Sir Alex shows mercy to Arsene' story where Sir Alex is portrayed in the light of a guy who threw a bone to Arsene and is lauded as a god-like figure (metaphorically speaking)
Sounds crazy but I could see the papers doing it.
Patriarch, i empathise with paying fans but if that is your reasoning then you have invalidated your claim.
After all, United's first team have hardly been exciting this season. Who's to say the 'second-teamers' would not generate more excitement? After all, there is a surfeit of talented players in the second-team.

Lol I'll agree that it sounds crazy anyway.

Who's to say the 'second-teamers' would not generate more excitement?
As they are "second-teamers" the chances are that they wouldn't be more exciting. Plus we have seen enough of the "second-teamers" in recent years in the Carling Cup or dead rubber Champions League matches. By and large, they have been awkward and painful to watch.
just dont bother with them
let them get on with it, its hardly going to affect there performance
United have the title won, the rest of the games are dead rubbers. We should use this opportunity to give some of the younger players valuable 1st team game time.
I hate grown up men who actually Boo at players

Me too, it's right up there on my list along with grown men who post videos of their video game playing on Youtube
I'd play Welbeck up front anyway.... 2 goals in 2 games against the góons.
Another Welbz goal would wind them up more than anything RVP could do.
Despite what many Arsenal fans, including myself, might think of RVP, i truly believe in his heart he still loves the club and "supports" them. His statement was very clear on the matter. The only reason he left Arsenal was because of our clear disinterest in competing for the title and lack of ambition. At this stage of RVPs career, he should have been competing for titles.
So is anyone thinks that RVP might be in vengeful mode or looking to put up against the Arsenal fans, they are wrong. The only reason RVP will take the field on Sunday is because he is a true professional and performing 100% for United.

A Hernandez hat-trick would really miff the gooners
It would be absolutely pathetic to drop him.
He went on a drought and it looks like he is back scoring in the last 2 games and a pen before. We want him to end the season at a high.
I would be disgusted if he is dropped. Play either of Welbeck or Hernandez up top with him. Rooney will invariably play in CM since Anderson and Cleverley won't start.
Why isn't Tom getting any games?
Van Persie will play on Sunday.
Bluntly his legacy at Arsenal is now zero not because he left us but because he moved to Man Utd.
Arsenal tend to be forgiving when players leave the club and move abroad, but not in case of those who
move to opposition.
Will Van Persie be 'rested' on Sunday?
----
Can i ask, what exactly would he be rested for ?
We've nothing else to play for apart from record points tally and RVP himself will want to extend this lead at top of Golden Boot race (which is now over because Cannibal will get banned) but even still he will want more goals espeically after he has just scored hatrick.
Hopefully he is rested for the Chelsea game because Fergie hates the fat waiter
The glory hunters accusing us of being petty? Have you lot forgotten the way your prawn sandwich eating fans acted when Tevez left your club and when Rooney threatened to leave.
I would be disgusted if we gave your corrupt club a guard of honour.

I think the bitterness works both ways. If Arsenal fans weren't so petty, demanding they don't do a Guard of Honour because of Van Persie winning a trophy then I would say "Let's be respectful, leave him on the bench..."
However, they've spent all season labelling him a money-grabbing traitor, when it's all so clear to see he rejected Manchester City's quoted £300,000 a week salary and winning a trophy. All his interviews have been about winning things and you could see it on his face when it was over. He's done nothing but compliment Arsenal and be respectful, but they [not everyone] have just been disrespectful.
He's put up with it all year and it'd be nice to give him his moment in the Sun too and have one over them.
I see batmanu is up the glory hunters rear end again.
