The ban is not the problem I am sure everyone knew he would be banned, but like I have said in many post
Defoe ......No Ban
Suarez same thing 10 match ban
Teryy.....4 match ban
Saurez 8 match smae thing
If Saurez was English the FA would not have found him guilty of 10 match ban
Seeing this from a nutral fan think its disgusting Saurez doesn't help himself and rightly so should have been banned but FA make the rules up as they go along ......Just like our SFA
Brendan should remember what happened to Liverpools former manager for protecting Suarez
Too many people? Just a few then
Jungle_Bhoy, I think my point is the ban for biting is right and should be longer, I think Defoe should have been band for longer but Suarez has history and that should count when the FA think what ban to hand out.
Also being a Leeds fan I do know that people in charge of football make it up as they go along remembering the 15 point deduction we got a few years back!!
Liverpool fined him, and Rodgers criticised his behaviour.
When Defoe bit Mascherano, Spurs then manager, Martin Jol thought it a bit of a joke, and part of the game, their chairman, Daniel Levy, thought it wasn't a big deal, and didn't issue a club fine.
Defoe also thought it had all been blown out of proportion, and wasn't a big deal, the fa did nothing, and simply said, 'it wasn't in the spirit of the game'.
A couple of weeks later, Defoe was running around the FA's shiny new Wembley stadium, in an England kit, and before I brought it up, the OP had probably forgot about it.
All of a sudden, 7 years later, Liverpool should sell him, its the worst thing that has ever happened in English football, and we should all be collectively horrified, and disgusted in equal measure.
Total hypocrisy of the highest order.
I think the 10 match ban is just right
I understand folk coming out with the line people get less for breaking a leg, invariably that is the consequence of a rash or poor tackle...! An accident in most cases.
What Suarez did was a deliberate act. He took hold of the big mary's arm, put his mouth to it intentionally and bit it (again intentionally)...! He's lucky still to have a job.
Liverpool should withold the majority of his pay during his time out and pay it to ten separate local charities. He's hardly going to be earning his salary is he...?
They should then make the little vampire go out and work in the community somewhere and pay him the minimum wage for the same period, he'd learn then.
Eric
Ok then answer me this and trust me I like this guy he played for us.
But Roy Keane tackle to get revenge and said in his book he meant it, isn't that worse I mean am I missing something here ?
If it was somone ellse that did this and was playing for a smaller club trust me nobody would give to flying flucks, its because its Saurez and he plays for Liverpool that has caused a stir here
The FA are a joke.
Back in 1996, Ian Wright accused United goalkeeper Peter Schmeicel of racially abusing him.
After the game, when it was put to Ferguson what had happened, his reaction was that Wright was lying, and it was a slur on his club.
This FA's reaction to this, was to eventually get both players together, and representatives from both clubs, and sort something out, for the good of the game.
That was it.
No special panels, no extraordinary penalty no fines, no bans, simply swept under the carpet, for the good of the game.
As I said, the FA are a joke.
Would be sacked in a normal world.
didnt Van Persie elbow someone a few months ago and the FA did nothing?
Since when has football been the normal world ?
If you jumped in the air with both feet, and stamped on someone, you would be sacked.
If you ran across a room, and smashed your forearm into someone's face, you would be sacked.
If you jumped over a desk, and kung fu kicked, then started to punch someone in the face several times, you would go to prison.
Normal world rules don't apply to football.
I will have to add to this Jungle_Bhoy. Roy Keane should have been banned for life not just 5 games for admitting what he did. What makes that one very bad was that Alfie Harland didnt even foul the guy. To do his knee in.
Also to all Liverpool fans who look for reasons why Suaraz should not get a 10 match ban. Remember this, what would you do if he bit you in the street, walk away and say what a nice chap maybe he wont do it again
Rember Duncan Ferguson who nutted someone on the pitch, he got a 3 month prison sentence. For all those fans who want to do a comparison to a player then big Duncan is a good one as he had previous history just like Suarez and he ended up in prison, just like Suarez should have.
Hunwick
I remember Big Ferguson when he played for Rangers and trust me he was made to leave not left by own choice
Listen I am not a liverpool fan but I am a Suarez fan think he is one of the best strikers in the world, just needs to sort out his anger on the pitch, now I would have had no problem with him getting a 10 match ban if the FA would hand out the same tratment to the names I mentioned above.
What Suarez did was shocking but so was Defo and trust me nothing ever came of that, like I have said if this was the world cup and this was a England player that did this would he be facing a 10 match ban
Remember the FA trying to get Rooneys red ruduced, double standards, I think Saurez will leave English football which would be a shame beacuse he is a fantastic player to watch...
"What Suarez did was shocking but so was Defo and trust me nothing ever came of that, like I have said if this was the world cup and this was a England player that did this would he be facing a 10 match ban"
I think you will find England players get the rough end of the referees decisions in World Cups etc so I think if any England player did this on the big stage he would get at least a 10 match ban. Mr Blatter would see to that!!!
Hunwick
But does that make it right ?
Suarez would be no loss to the English game.
It's not a normal world, that's why I said 'in a normal world'
Elbowing and mistimed tackles are part of the game to a degree, biting on an any level is not.
10 games? He's lucky they don't get rid.
And Defoe should have got the same treatment too, but he never did it before or constantly bring the game into disrepute.
To bite someone deliberately is a criminal offence just like the Ferguson headbutt and he is lucky he doesnt get a prison sentence so a 10 match ban is right and for me it should have been longer!!!!
Hunwick
Sorry mate but thats were I defo don't agree I mean look he did what he did then scored the equaliser, think he is world class and trust me loads of clubs would snap him up in a minute if Liverpool would have got rid of him
When did he do it before?
Suarez got banned for it before. Then does it again.
Last time he did it he got a 7 match ban, why should it be increased for going it again?
If someone commits a bad tackle and gets sent off he gets a 3 match ban, if when he commits the same tackle 3 seasons later he gets the same 3 match ban. It doesn't increase
A prison sentence.
If you walked into a police station, and said you had been bitten, and the policeman on the desk asked you to show your injuries, and there wasn't a mark on you, you would probably be more likely be warned to stop wasting the polices time, and told to run along home.
It wasn't the FA handing out the ban last time.
Got to admit, that prison comment made me laugh.
