Keane admitted a criminal offence in his book.
Simple as that.
If you walked into a police station, and said you had been bitten, and the policeman on the desk asked you to show your injuries, and there wasn't a mark on you, you would probably be more likely be warned to stop wasting the polices time, and told to run along home.
--------------------------------------
Unless you hadn't noticed, it was on international TV in front of a world wide audience.
Goofy got what he deserved. Although not enough in my book.
Elbowing/kicking are acts of violence which shouldn't be condoned - although sometimes they're just an unfortunate outcome of a poorly timed challenge. To actually bite and hang on like a rabid nutter - as Suarez did - goes into a totally different category of offence for me.
It's the action of a nutter. 10 game ban, he's got away with it in my book.
Look the actual point for me, isn't the length of ban.
Whether he left a mark on Ivanovich, or not is irrelevant, its simply the FA's approach to dealing with some cases, and duplicitously not really bothering with others.
You can call Suarez all you want, but it would seem by the time he leaves English football, he will have helped to create definitive guidelines within our game, that before Suarez, the FA were pretty much not that bothered about, or too spineless to do anything about.
Luis Suarez, rule breaker, new rule maker.
Eric
I was watching the game when Keane did it and went up when he was lying on the floor and you could see he meant it, he just confirmed it in the book.
Like I will keep saying agin and again if he was English he would never have been given a 10 match ban FACT
He obviously didn't bite and hold on, has with those nashers, he wouldn't definmately have left a mark.
The police did inspect Ivanovich's arm, and found no mark on him whatsoever, so he thankfully avoided a prison term.
To be honest, if he bit a chunk out of him and spat it back onto the pitch with blood running down his face, he prob wouldn't play again ever for anyone, but the fact he didn't even leave a mark, leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for Liverpool fan (pardon the pun), but they have made an example of him and i agree with the treatment he has got because it's an act of assault on another player in front of thousands.
Also, your daughter would not be expelled for that.
Do you know bow difficult it actually is go expel a child from a school?
Considering an English player Rooney became the first to ever be done for swearing and also an English player Rio got a crazy ban for missing a test (where others got less)
Your English conspiracy is well off the mark, at least when it comes to United players being English doesn't seem to save them they come down just as hard.
Ohh and Defoe got away with it for the same reason Gerrard got away with elbowing Micheal Brown, it was seen in the game and dealt with by the referee and thus nothing could be done about it.
On Wright and Schmikes, Wright just made the accusation and never pressed charges, he also didn't tell the referee at the time.
You have as much evidence for him being racist as I do for Gerrard being racist..
None.
5 's Hunwick
You've said it all for me
Defo bit a player the same as saurez Gerard elbow someone FFS they are really the same
Oh and john terry ???
Oh and Roy Keane
like i said its because it Suarez say no more
Last time he did it he got a 7 match ban, why should it be increased for going it again?
---
Because, after the Evra incident, he was warned about his future conduct.

Your opinion is not a fact. That what I just said there is a fact, what you keep repeating is an opinion.
I have no problem with your opinion.
The fact is, you aren't on the panel that made the decision, what you think of their decision is your opinion.
I'll live with it, perhaps you ought to try it...?
Eric
like i have said its all about fair rules now being s utd fan its hard to take your opinion on board as if suarez played for fulham or stoke and did this you wouldnt give to flying fkucks but because he plays for Liverpool makes this even more for you to have your opinion heard. now me I like Suarez the player and think he is one of the best strikers in the world if he could sort out his issues he would get allot more followers.
The only fact is Suarez got a 10 match ban which in my opinion is correct.
Another example of double standards is when Beckford got a 3 match ban that the referee had given him a booking for which was when he elbowed a player when in the 1st division. The referee then stated after the game he had been booked for something else which he then couldn't remember what for and wouldn't go into. This then allowed the football league to charge him as the ref hadn't seen it even though we all knew he had and booked him for it. Time and again the FA have since not done anything about bad tackles after the match particularly the 2 footed stamp by the man city player a few weeks back.
The FA. do make it up as they go on but this time the punishment is nearer the mark.
As for English players being treated differently
Well the Beckford ones proves your argument to be floored.
He's a great player, but flawed.
Sadly I have him in my FF teams and no transfers left...!
Not that I'm bitter.
Jungle
The fact he plays for Liverpool is irrelevant. The fact is if he had done it in the street he would be in prison.
As I stated earlier my 4 year old girl would be banned for life from nursery for such an act so a 10 match ban is light.
Just to answer a point made earlier about how hard it is to expel a child, being a school governor I know that biting is followed by expelling in nursery if repeated.
At the FA hearing yesterday after receiving his 10
match ban Liverpool have issued a statement:
Luis Suarez is a great footballer, but sometimes he
really makes a meal of things.
But you cant question the lad's hunger!
He's shown that he still has a great appetite for the
game.
Defo bit a player the same as saurez Gerard elbow someone FFS they are really the same
.......................................
It is in the rules, the FA cannot ban for an incident the referee already dealt with.
Considering Liverpool have benefited from this law it is extremely hypocritical of them to accuse the FA of being biased because of this rule.
You benefit and lose out because of the rule the same as every other club.
To make it that rule is some kind of conspiracy against Liverpool is as laughable as some of the other conspiracies the Liverpool fans love peddling.
Sorry if this offends but I put the problem down to the ridiculously soft UK culture....that I DO NOT miss. We seem to 'cry' about any little misdemeanour. I watched the movie Blood Diamond the other day and realized what a bunch of whingers fill the UK. It put EVERYTHING into 'global' perspective for me. Try growing up where he did and out it side by side with your own experience and 99% will look ridiculous. It might be sad, but here in Latin America, I observe it all the time in adults; they carry many of these hard-nosed habits with them through life, no different from people in the UK.
No one says his behaviour is good; but the halls of the FA are filled with double standards and hypocrisy. What the guy needs is help and sympathy, not criticism; to realize that he has be a good example to the kids who admire his football and to see that the gift of a footballing talent is ruined by a bad habit. Smokers are helped to quit a bad habit in a positive way - this guy needs the same approach.
I find Liverpool extremely hypocritical in all of this.
It's unacceptable for a Liverpool player blah blah blah, but hey he's still part of our family and if teh FA decide to give an increased punishment for a repeat offender then we'll cry that it's shocking an unfair etc.
Liverpool, stop whining, control your player and you wouldn't be in this mess.
We'd all love the society you live in Real Estate. Marvellous place eh...?
How did you so eloquently put it the other week
'..Thing is, people don't punch annoying people here, they tend to just use a gun and have done with it..'
Just the sort of society we want eh...?
Jonty, your last line is spot on.
