first half of the season we were carried by defoe's goals, and bale only showed up on occasions.

infact in january i actually wrote an article saying how it was about time bale stepped up... and he did so fair enough.. but half a seasons work to get player of the year? should have been RVP all day long IMO

Got to say as a United fan Bale was the obvious choice. Some of his goals and his consistency since the turn of the year has been up there with the best from the position he plays.
