i think realistically top 4 is the aim for next season. can't see us beating chelsea with jose or city, who could spend big

You don't think we'll spend big?

What are you expecting Rob?

I am really not sure anymore... pre SAF leaving I thought I had an idea. Now I haven't got a clue!

I think it will be 2 or 3 of these...,

Bale
Fellaini
Ronaldo
Rodriguez
Baines
Cabaye
Matic
Robben
McManaman

All depends on if Wigan get relegated and Spurs get top 4.

If I was a betting man (which I am) we'll be getting Fellaini and Rodriguez.

if jose goes back to chelsea even fergie would have had a tough time. so now close your eyes and picture how moyes will out think tactically, out motivate or out coach chelsea's mourinho. Well have you got an image in mind? Cause I don't

I know football's changed a lot....but I don't think you can judge "The Moyes effect" until the season after next. Back in the days of proper football when Derby won what would become the Prem with Brian Clough at the helm, he'd put together such a formidable team that Dave Mackay, an inexperienced manager, won it again the following season. Moyes will have a pretty much unstoppable momentum behind him to begin with....but the likes of City and Chelsea will start to smell blood. For once, Premiership football might actually get interesting!

He has a pretty good record against City with a spend a fraction of theirs...

all I really see is hoping to stay in the top 4.

Hold on.

The reason why SAF, SBC, Gill and Glazer have chosen Moyes is for continuity.

That means that we keep on challenging at the top as we have done in the past.

They think that with Moyes we have the best opportunity to do that. More than with any other manager including JM.

I fully agree with this.

I fully expect us to to challenge for the PL and do better in Europe next season under Moyes.

Some fans seem to think that the board have chosen a manager to purposefully destroy the club!

Why does Moyes have to out-coach Mourinho? And who's to say he can't?

United only have to play Chelsea twice a season and i'm sure that winning titles doesn't always come down to those games.

Last season we lost twice to City but had we beaten Everton we would have won the league.

If you view your club long term, Moyes is an excellent appointment. Can you really see someone like Jose sticking around for 8 to 10 years? No way. Whereas I think Moyes with the right backing will keep the dynasty going. I've always admired the fact that United stuck by Ferguson until he got it right, and look how that paid off. Signs are, they'll do that again.

Top four has to be the aim for next season imo. everything else is a bonus.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

You really are a negative guy. We'll make a couple of signings to add to the plethora of top players we already have.

Will we win the title? Who knows but we'll challenge just as we would have under Sir Alex.

If SAF hadn't retired I would have us down for the title..

Right now (pre transfers) I have us down for a title challenge.

you missed out "out motivating" and I am talking over the course of the season. Chelsea and city will have better squads than us no doubt, and fergie's ability to get the best out of what he has has been the difference this season. My point is mourinho is a better coach, tactician and motivator and would have a better squad among whom he will command a lot more respect because of what he is brings to the table.

I think motivating Everton to 6th place this season (with a view at one point to getting 4th place) is as good an achievement as Sir Alex motivating our side to a title considering the players both managers have at their disposal.

Well Mourinho certainly seems popular with those Madrid players...

What a wonderful job he has done as well... semis of the CL and 2nd in the league...

Practically minimum expectations at Real.

posted on 9/5/13

they chose moyes because he is cheap and because he is slightly like SAF.
-----------------------------------
and because he would not cause any friction.

I personally believe mourinho's petulance in the past has been born from his belief that he would be happy anywhere he goes. But he has found that the best place for him to manage is in the epl. I expect him to be in his next job for a while

I think Everton have a very good squad and Moyes is lucky other team havent decided to buy any of his best players.

I can only think of Rodwell who has left them and lets face it he wasnt all that.

If he stayed at Everton i would like to see how he would deal with the likely sales of Fellaini/Baines ect.
