What a wonderful job he has done as well... semis of the CL and 2nd in the league...
---------------------
not popular at madrid evidently, but madrid is not chelsea, and he is a very big deal at chelsea where he is love and respected.

In terms of his achivements at madrid in the ucl, lets put things into perspective; 3 consecutive semi-final finish is not great but a great improvement on madrid's record in the 7 season before mourinho where they finished in knockout round

and only an ignoramus will argue about mourinho's credential as a manager so I am done arguing with you.

Lescott and Arteta were very important too.

Lescott Maybe but Arteta was about to turn 30, hardly entering his prime imo.

Boss

Arteta was a regular part of their side. But what made his leaving so detrimental to Moyes was the lateness of the deal (the last day of the window) and how he wasn't able to bring anyone in at such short notice and yet they still finished fairly high in the table.

Judging by the reaction of many Utd fans to Moyes I would say he is in for a torrid time, especially if he loses a couple couple of games on the bounce.

From what Ive seen its clear that Utd fans arent going to accept Moyes. You've been so used to Fergie for so long that you'll struggle to adapt to another manager - especially a manager that so few of you actually want.

I predicted that after Fergie retires we will see the beginning of a managerial merry go round at Utd and I'm sticking by that prediction.

Were not Chelsea mate. Moyes will be brought in for the long term. The owners know how important stability is and look what changing managers has done to Chelsea.

Once Moyes (if) is appointed, the fans will all get behind him.

If he stayed at Everton i would like to see how he would deal with the likely sales of Fellaini/Baines ect.

Same way he dealt with rooney, arteta and co leaving. Remain competitive.

People forget how many players he has lost.

Rooney, Arteta, Lescott, Rodwell, Pienaar (then got him back). Thats a core for 10 years.

Also he has Gibson playing decent stuff, even SAF couldnt do that!

Lost Cahill too who was instrumental for Everton.

Mate deal with it Moyes is happening.

Everton do have a very good team... that's the point, team. United could probably field 2 half decent prem sides with the players they've got, Everton's problem is past the first 11 they just don't have enough

dont understand why United fans are a bit taken aback by Moyes appointment.

He has been touted as the eventual successor for years now.

I actually think he could do better in the short term than the long term. This team has been so adept at winning football matches that it could perhaps run on autopilot (similar to what Chelsea did under Grant).

Whether Moyes can overcome the challenges he'll face and win a trophy straight away isn't gauranteed, however.

Darren whats your thoughts on Moyes possible appointment?

posted on 9/5/13

Not overly impressed, to be honest. He'll get my support though.

I must be one of the few who thinks he will do a great job and hit the ground running.

I do hope he chooses his own transfer targets and does something about our midfield, something SAF wouldnt have addressed this summer.

I hope so too. As I've said, I do think he'll do ok to start with as he's inheriting Fergie's team. This team aren't going to forget how to play football over night.

Just a little dissapointed as I only think Moyes can take us so far whereas I believe there are other managers more befitting the job.

Hopefully he'll do great though and if he buys a midfielder I'll be overjoyed.

Darren I think he will. Every man and his dog bar SAF can see how poor our midfield is.

posted on 9/5/13

If he doesn't I'll be of the opinion that Fergie will have his hand firmly placed up Moyes' àrse.
