For all the moaning I've done about him over the past 11 years don't want to see him go

Fellaini- who do the Everton fans want?

posted on 12/5/13

They don't want...

Hughes.....Rafa......Lennon.

Some don't want Martinez.

But I have a gut feeling its him.

Outside bet on Malky and the guy at porto and some fella at munchegladbach(or however it is spelt)

Moyes has done a fantastic job, stabilising the club and consistently challenging for the Euro spots season after season.
Deserves a great send off from the fans today.

That's good - I don't want to lose Lenny but, just out of interest, what is it about him that turns you off?

posted on 12/5/13

Who is the guy that is his assistant?

And why in a one horse race.......didn't he have the league sewn up nice and early and win the job lot?

posted on 12/5/13

Johan Mjallby is his assistant, Gary Parker and Danny McGrain first team coaches.

I notice you didn't mention that he took Celtic, with far fewer resources, as far in the Champs League as Man u and Arsenal and further than Chelsea and Man City.

As far as the SPL was concerned we really were on a hiding to nothing. Each teams treats a Celtic match like a cup final, especially at their place. I seem to recall a Hearts team who did not even make our top 6 only losing to your fiercest rivals over two legs by a late goal

Martinez is custom built for Everton.

It would be a natural step up for him and he would set you up the way you want to see Everton play.

Rafa.
Only managers big clubs.
Hughes, Pulis, soon to be relegated Martinez, all suitable candidates.

Malky would be a great option

Rodgers is in the same category,so who are you to mock.

How is Rodgers better than Martinez? Rodgers got promoted using a side that Martinez built, and now the Spaniard's won a cup.So what has Rodgers done to be classed better than Martinez? Talk about hypocrisy, one minute you're mocking Moyes for winning nowt, and then you say Rodgers is better Martinez, even tho Martinez has won a trophy.

Buy martinez turned a safe premier league team inherited from bruce and turned them into relegation candidates year in year out with them needing a minor miracle to stay up this year...top manager!
As for the whole swansea thing....rodgers took them up and rodgers kept them up. martinez should take no credit for any of that...why should he?!

Buy martinez turned a safe premier league team

Are you for real? How can a team that has an average gate of 19,000 be called a safe team? They probably have less money than any other team in the prem.If you think finishing 11th once makes a safe team, then you're more stupid than I thought. Rodgers took Wigan up using Martinez's team, and whilst Rodgers kept Swansea up, Laudrup has done even better whilst having to sell three of his best players. Rodgers has spent £50m and what has he achieved? 7th place and no silverware. I've changed my mind,Rodgers deserves to be in the category below Pulis.

Martinez took over a side no longer bankrolled by the Chairman(Bruce had that backing)

Shows how little you know Lucas. Rodgers should then take the blame for Liverpool's failures this season.

posted on 12/5/13

Another thing Lucas, did your hear about Everton having more money to spend, due to not having to pay Moyes's high wages? Blows a hole in your theory that the only manager Kenwright will look at is one on a free. He may appoint someone who's out of contract (Vítor Pereira),but it won't be down to the fact the club hasn't got the money.

How do you know how much a new manager will get paid?
Clearly your an idiot alas.
Funny how martinez gets all thr credit for two seasons of work by rodgers but laudrup gets the credit for swansea this season. im.guessing you would be saying exactly the same if he wasnt managing liverpool.

Hell fire you are simple. You honestly think we'll pay the likes of Martinez 4 million a year? It's taken Moyes 7 years to gain that kind of salary.

Didn't you read my post? Rodgers took over a team built by Martinez and got them promoted, which I'm not knocking. Laudrup has moved Swansea up the league whilst having to sell three of their better players. Rodgers did well with Swansea, but to say he's better than Martinez is laughable.

Yes alas clearly you ARE an idiot.
Again, why would martinez, supposedly better than rodgers, agree to take over everton on far less than moyes was on?
So tell me, if martinez was the reason for swanseas success, why was he not able to get them promoted? It was the same team after all!!

posted on 13/5/13

Because Moyes turned Everton from relegation contenders to a top 8 side. If Martinez or who ever takes over, improves Everton in a similar way to Moyes, then they'll probably earn a similar wage.

posted on 13/5/13

But martinez is a trophy winning manager...surely he would be on a bigger wage than somebody who has won nothing?

So now it is just two games that mean you deserve a job and you shouldnt even need an interview.

From the guardian:
"There is also a feeling among those close to Rodgers that Swansea's performance at Anfield in November, when they were applauded off the pitch by the Liverpool supporters, together with the 1-0 victory over Dalglish's team on the last day of the season, should provide more than enough evidence of his qualities, as opposed to being part of a formal interview process"

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Would you chose Rafa over Rodgers now?

You were pretty dismissive of never won a thing in his life and unlikely to finish above a Moyes managed team in his managerial career Rodgers.Weren't you
