Given how global City are I'm surprised you didn't see any reports of Mancini being sacked in Cyprus
We didn't have a TV, had no access to internet, and didn't pick up any papers. No one sent us any texts, save for the one I got from my mate. It's actually very easy to avoid British news if you want to, especially in the Turkish part of the island.
Same with me in the algave, didn't realise Mancini had been sacked until I watched bbc version of soccer Saturday!!! Had no tv or wi-fi!!
You missed rooneys latest transfer request an the rumours Phil Jones stuck one on him.

Utd failing to match his ambition again?!
RVP's Left Foot did you not read the OP?
"we avoided all newspapers, websites and TV whilst we were away (stayed in Polis mountains, so it was easy to do"
Or did you think your comment was so hilarious it was worth sharing anyway?
Rooney wants to leave because he hates gollum x
I heard the Phil Jones rumour on Friday night, from a guy who said his brother worked for the club. Mind you shocking as it may seem not everything you hear in a pub in Manchester is true.
I hear the rumour ref Jones is spot on. A bloke on the staff at Carrington told my dad last week, apparently Rooney was ripped a new one!
Maybe Jones should follow a career in boxing as he's a diabolical footballer.
Trouble behind the scenes at old Trafford it seems.
Punching him was a bit harsh, one of Jones's grotesque facial expressions should have been enough to quieten Wazza down.
Regrettably I think Jones may not be as bad as he looks. I think the problem is that he is played out of position - I think he's really a centre half.
However the point isn't Wazza sticking one on him but the other way around. What on earth could have caused such a falling out?
Jones probably broke the dressing room door down with an axe and said "Here's Johnny".
Jones is actually a class player. I've never understood the taunts. He's still a kid and has been great for United so far. He was awesome against Madrid and City recently.
He's going to be a BIG player for United and England. Great future ahead of him.
He lamped Rooney after the City game apparently.

Why? Wazza didn't let Aguero waltz round him as if he wasn't there.
It's all very puzzling isn't it - Jones lamped Rooney, yet Rooney is the one who's United career is in doubt. Looks like whatever is going on the OT hierarchy think a punch in the gob was reasonable in the circumstances.

I'm confused mate!!!!!
Polis in the Turkish side? When I served in Cyprus Polis was in the Paphos district which is the Greek side of the Island and the mountain range was the Troodos

Got to be honest me neither...

I think it came from the comparisons to Baresi from a few fans not long after you bought him, which was a bit over the top!
I do think he will be a very good player, particularly if he sticks to one position.

That seems fair enough...
Although I am pretty sure Capello is not a fan but the (at the time) national manager.

We based ourselevs in Polis but hopped over to the the Turkish side every other day, was only a short drive. I called them the 'Polis mountains' because I couldn't remember their name!
Polis was predominately a Turkish-Cypriot town until the Green Line was drawn. My Grandpa fought in Cyprus in the 50s when it was mostly Turkish, and his brother fought there in the 70s when it was mostly Greek. There are still quite a few Turks living there still, though (they moved back there when the border was relaxed a few years ago).
