too young to know unfortunately.

what about Ginola? Ginola got player of the year in the season united won the treble!!!!

Ginola is the best player i have ever seen at spurs.. better than Bale, as things stand.

For me, and bear in mind I am not a Spurs fan, Hoddle surpassed both.

Ginola better than Bale????????? Don't be silly, they are not even close. Ginolas best moment for us was in the league cup when he ran past about 5 Burnley (or was it Barnsley) players, great goal but they were rubbish, the amount of wonder moments we have had from Bale just this season far surpasses him.

Don't get me wrong Ginola was a legend and played in a much less talented team but come on not in the same league.

Gazza was a very overated player and nowhere near as good as Bale.
Gazza was on a similar level to someone like Wilshere, but was also a very dirty player that got past players because of his use of elbows and arms.

The semi final when he got injured was justice as it was a terrible tackle on Charles.

agredd with DJ Hoddle was class as a player poor as a manager

My dad is a massive fanboy of Hoddle. I asked him about Scholes and he just said "He was alright, not as good as Hoddle"

i find this reply a bit harsh on me.

i am only 26.

when ginola was playing for spurs i was a kid.

i remember being amazed by him..... he was a hero to me. whereas it might be now that i am older but even though bale is truly world class i dont see him as a hero.. thats just my opinion.. if i was an watching both players then my opinion may be more in line with yours.

i remember watching ginola and it was amazing what he could do with a football.. bale doesnt really have that.. what he has is incredible pace and power and an unbelievable shot, rather than pure skill..

that is my opinion, reminiscing of when i was a kid looking up to a hero.

Hoddle
Gazza
Bale

In that order.

Gazza got us to an FA Cup Final in a season where the club was on the verge of bankruptcy and we were as per usual a mid table team.

Des Walker then helped us win the final in Gazza's absence.

Gareth Bale has done nothing yet.

I actually don't know what to say.

Didn't mean to shoot down your opinion I just don't agree and maybe i am being harse on ginola because as mentioned he was playing in a very poor Spurs side and stood out from the rest of the team. However when we had him he was late 20's early 30's so on his way down. The reason I am so excited about Bale is his story is just begining, hopefully he adds a few more chapters before he goes.

gazza....as i see more of him

hoddle

bale

for me...another season like this one for GB11 and he may well get the top spot.

Gareth Bale has done nothing yet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

How has he done nothing, he has basically single handed got us into europe, we would have been mid table without him.

He helped us beat Man U 3-2 at OT the first time in 22 years by scoring a fantastic goal

He helped us beat Arsenal scoring a great goal

He help us beat Man C scoring a great goal

West Ham last min wonder goal

Hat-Trick v Villa

Last min wonder goal v Lyon

Last min wonder goal v Sunderland

This is just a fraction of this season, lets not forget 2 years ago he won player of the year as well and scored one of the best hat-tricks i seen in the san siro.

FA Cup was brilliant in 1991, but for me seeing Spurs play against the Milans, Madrid and the like far surpassed that.

But fair enough i respect your opinion i just don't agree with it.

Gazza was a far better player than Old Special Needs - Wilshere will ever be as Gazza was World Class !!

Hoddle was better than both players and bale has a long way to go to get anywhere near him

I remember Johan Cruft mocking hoddle before we played him , saying who is he.. well he knew after the game when hoddle ran the show , scoring 2 and making 2 in a 4-2 win ...

gascoine was very good but didnt play enough games for us to be better than Hoddle or bale

I seen them all play for Tottenham and followed them home and away through the good and bad yrs

Hoodle was by far the best passer of a ball i have ever seen and scored some amazing goals
Ginola is a legend and loved by the fans but not in the others class

Gazza again the best player on the ball ever, it was stuck to his toes

bale if he stays could go down as the best ever but he has to win us things like hoddle did

posted on 21/5/13

I grew up watching hoddle and he's still the most technical brilliant English player I've ever seen.

David pleat's team of 86-87 is still the best football I've ever had the pleasure to see as a spurs fan.

Gazza was a genius and was a joy to watch, that tackle was in the final and not the semi.

Bale is a wonderful player and will get better but in my opinion is not as good as gazza yet.

My top 3, hoddle, jurgen and gazza

posted on 21/5/13

I'm sorry but Gazza was far better than Bale is. Gazza could create through the eye of a needle, dribble with both feet, he could score every type of goal there was, from volleys, to free-kicks, to tap-ins, to passing it in the net (again, with both feet), the boy had absolutely everything.

Bale isnt in the same class yet. Not a chance.

posted on 21/5/13

. Someone said Gazza was like Wilshire.I remember Gazza well...he could influence a game like no one else. He had so much skill you had to actually watch to appreciate it.Bale is in the same class though, not as much skill as Gazza or Ginola but more end product and pace and power.

posted on 21/5/13

The goal Bale scored against City was good but a lot of that was down the creativity of Huddlestone. Gazza and Hoddle were masters of that.

What Bale has over them is obviously immense pace.

Hounslow.. i prefered the team of 82 . much better than 87

Klinsman is the best striker i have ever seen at the lane, pure magic

Very true...

Your team of 81/82 was a fine team, Ardiles has to be in the top five players in modern times at Spurs.

Weare,I loved watching both sides mate,Richard gough leaving after one season was a big loss.

Jurgen was the most clinical striker I've ever seen at spurs but I loved watching Archibald and crooks as a pairing.
