The T-rex in the original Jurassic Park, saved the day

Whilst Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was very well acted for me he didn’t encompass what I see the character to be. Ledger’s joker was far to pretentious and the anarchic side they tried to big up was contradicted by the amount of planning he went through. I would recommend “Joker” by Brian Azzarello if anyone wants to see a true interpretation of him.

Also dunno if anyone has read Gotham Central – they are written by the co writer of The Wire and basically follow Gothams cops around with batmans as sort of a background character which is well worth reading

i love how people blindly defend the dark knight and write off the dark knight rises when they have an equal about of plot holes.

A skinny man like the joker getting pulverised by a tank like batman and he still is able to be completely normal and conscious, yes ok.

batman jumped from his sky scraper building with rachel after being thrown out by the joker and landed on a car totally unharmed. yes sure that can happen too, not.

harvey dents face

the bad italian guy who got dropped off a roof from like 100 foot up and only broke his legs, yea, sure.... (remember batman falling from like ... a sky scraper earlier in the movie?)

when the joker introduced himself to the bad eyes and slammed that guys eye onto the table with the pencil on it....
Where did the pencil go? MAGIC! It was long enough to go through the back of the guys head.

The dark knight also dragged on and became boring after the boat plot where gothams most insane criminals have second thoughts about blowing up a load of middle to upper class people... Yea, sure..

Although I enjoyed Dark Knight. Batman Begins was the superior film in the trilogy, TDKR was the second best and the dark knight comes 3rd.

This is all my opinion..

My favourite Superhero Movie ever is probably The Avengers so far.

Although the pencil could have snapped in his guys skull.. but still.

The other bizarre thing in TDK is when batman stops a van moving by simply landing on it – thereby crushing the roof and immobilising it?

Begins is the far tighter and more “comic book” of the three. When they reboot it I hope they get a balance between Burtons gothicness and Nolans grittiness and realism

After that, X2, then the Dark Knight...and Unbreakable (an usual choice perhaps).

I was about to ask whether Unbreakable counts. I'm not really a big fan of superhero movies in general so I think that one is a good shout.

Otherwise, I have a soft spot for Superman 2 with Christopher Reeve. Terence Stamp and Gene Hackman made a great pair of villains and Sarah Douglas looked hot as feck.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are the best in recent years imo.

Watchmen was decent too.

Haven't seen any mentions of Thor. Thought that was pretty decent albeit slightly lacking in action sequences and fight scenes.

Hopefully they address that in the sequel coming out later this year.

......................................................................

The plot holes in Dark Knight Rises weren't just plot holes they were more like black holes.

Batman surviving a nuclear explosion without any explanation given just smacked of very lazy script writing.

Spawn and Superwomen(or was it supergirl?)

Can anyone explain in the Avengers why Bruce Banner can’t control the Hulk on the Aircraft thing but at the end can transform at will?

And also is Thor a “god” or an alien? He comes from an alien world but often says stuff about being immortal? If that’s the case why and he cant die then why does he panic so much about being dropped out of the plan in that globe prison thing Loki escaped from?

My favourite super hero movie is Iron Man (1) because I love technology and it could be possible one day. Thought the script was fantastic and directed really well.

The Dark Knight was very good and TDKR was enjoyable but (like Iron Man 3) had so many plotholes and was just frustrating to watch at times. Like, for instance, when the police were freed (and God knows why Gordan sent them all down there) what was their plan? Find Bane’s army (soldiers with AK-47s and tanks) and charge them with a few handguns. No surprise. No strategy. Just a good old suicidal charge. It’s a miracle Bane’s soldiers also happened to be morons themselves and decided to fist fight trained police officers instead of mowing them down with their weapons.

Never saw the point in Superman (or many other superheroes tbh) he's an alien, who can't be killed, can't be hurt, is infinitely strong, can fly etc. etc. He has literally no weaknesses, how's it interesting?

The script in iron man three is infinitely better thanks to Shane Black knowing how to write excellent snappy pacy dialogue.

Is Godzilla a hero? or villain?

When he fought Ghidorah he was definitely a hero.

But he's not exactly good most days.

There is a version of Superman 2, called 'Superman 2, The Richard Donner Cut'

It totally kicks the original version of Superman 2's butt and was supposed to be 'The Original' but I think Richard Donner fell out with the guys in charge.

I love the Toby McGuire versions of Spiderman to be fair.

Iron Man 3 was amusing and entertaining but as a story it just didn't hold together well.

Indeed I have. The guy is a legend and the movie looks amazing

The Avengers film caught the essence of the comic. I also liked the first two Spiderman films (the first of the new franchise was dreadful)

The last Batman film was a steaming mound of carp imo.

As for graphic novels, check out The Boys (by Garth Eniss) - hilarious, gruesome and gripping.

Yeah, the Boys is great. As is Preacher. Garth Ennis is amazing.

Anyway... Superman's crap.

Red sun radiation, magic, kryptonite and his unwavering morals are his main weaknesses.
