Robson, as cool as a cucumber that's been wrapped in an ice pack and placed in the fridge overnight, conjures an ace to ease 3-0 ahead. The Brit pins her opponent back on the baseline with a series of menacing forehands and Kanepi eventually falters, pushing a forehand long and Robson leads 4-2 at the changeover.

A snapper refocuses his lens, thinking he is about to capture Robson clinching the set. But the Brit, from 5-2 up, is suddenly at 5-5 - a lazy double fault from Robson allowing her rival to level. A crunching forehand winner from the Estonian for set point. Wow! Robson superbly saves courtesy of a booming forehand return. Second set point Kanepi... the Estonian drags Robson from tramline to tramline and the bedraggled Brit sends a backhand wide.

serena is a tennis player first and foremost. It's not her job to look pretty. she's an athlete. to be the best in this era, athletes male or female need to bulk up and gain muscle and power. Otherwise they are not doing themselves justice.

But what do I care about some Amurkin OOF? All I want her to do is lose to the likes of Robson and look good whilst doing so.

You have to feel sorry for Serenas opponents. She's like a lion about to eat her pray. Amazing player. It's a breath of fresh air watching a genuine good player. The likes of Sharapova are really not that good. When Henin was playing women's tennis was much better. Too many light weights in the women's game to concerned with their image.
