Australian bowlers like NZ and SA bowl a very wide negative line. Half the time England don't even have to play at it..
Tonight, I am mostly watching Tower Block on Netflix. With 20 minutes to go it does not look good for the remaining 5 characters.

Another mediocre score for Cook (25). Part of a half-decent opening partnership I suppose but it's a concern.
Whats also concerning is the rate at which they are scoring these runs. 40 overs for just 80 runs in the modern age is seriously poor on a decent batting track.
The need to show a bit more intent and I dont just mean during this innings, I mean in general.
We are so incredibly boring to watch when we bat, the run rate is excruciating. Can't help but feel we invite wickets and pressure onto us by letting the overs drift by.

moan moan bloomin moan....you lot are never satisfied unless we are smacking the Aussies all over the park. Have we won the series 3-0 or WHAT?
Quote (TMS) People moaning about the slow run rate need to stop watching Test cricket. We're heading towards lunch on the third day of a test that we've squandered because of a poor first innings bowling performance; the best we'll probably manage now is a draw from this game. I'd rather it finished 3-0 than 3-1 and the only way that's going to happen is batting through this. Go and watch one-day cricket if you want runs. (unquote)

50 for Root. Well done, he needed that. Let's hope he can go on to three figures.

If Australia were winning 3-0, they'd be laughing in England's face. But England are winning 3-0 and they are moaning, even the media ripping into Kerrigan. Disgrace.
If you said to an England fan 10 years ago, that in 2013 you'd be 3-0 up at home in the Ashes and you'd be moaning about it. He'd of slapped your face.
Whats the reason though for all this dissatisfaction? Is this England's sluggish batting, all batsmen except Pietersen (and Bell in this series) putting Spectator to sleep inspite of no pressure on them?
Are Spectators asking too much when they want a bit of flair from their batsmen esp when they already are 3 up?
What's the current scorecard for England first innings lads ?
cheers

brilliant lads - thank you
Not a bad start for England.
If either Bell or Pietersen get a century - and we know they can then England could reach the 400 mark.
Now pietersen, the only English player that bats with flair might entertain the "bored" fans.
A solid platform's been set by Root for that.
