Artur is an idiot who knew nothing the whole time.
I know people are concerned about financial clout but I'm relatively pleased about how we've conducted our business in the last two windows.
Selling the dross and replacing whilst breaking even. The team certainly looks stronger even though our net spend is incredibly low

If Dortmund were bidding we didn't have much of a chance unless we massively outbid them and offered Mancity wages.
Ah the perils of counting your chickens....
Suckered by the media hype.

Well if, as both he and Yaro insist, Mkhitaryan really wanted to come to us, and we really wanted to get him, plus the comment that Shakhtar are not happy with the Dortmund offer, then I still retain a flicker of hope that this is not over.
There you go again ARE another dig at FSG I feel sorry for you, you can't write an article without some reference to FSG, it's a shame really
According to James Pearce of the echo we spoke to his representatives but we never got the chance to speak directly with Mkhitaryan. He also reckons we expected any deal from any club to take a couple of weeks due to this problem.

Surely he could've picked himself off the floor and stop himself from laughing long enough to say "No thanks"?
How rude.....
without Mkhitaryan the other deals don't really look to have improved the squad that much, he was meant to be the icing on the cake and now you're just left with a bunch of candles.
I also heard Ayre made a fool of himself trying to broker a deal, that man is out of his depth when it comes to making a big deal like that come off.

Yeah isn't it a shame the transfer window is closed and we can't get somebody else instead..........Oh wait..
The LFC name just ain't a draw any more.
It's still a draw Hector. But it's less than it used to be.
Benitez was a massive draw for players as well and Rodgers doesn't have that kind of pull. Although the style of football is a bigger carrot to lure players with now.
There are a few factors.

Artur said that Ayre literally didn't have a clue how to go about speaking to the right people regarding this transfer, he also said putting Ayre up against Raiola was asking for trouble.
How does he know? Everyone seems to blame Ayre for everything even though they're clueless.
Ayre does look pretty gormless tbh, almost like he can't believe he landed such a top job.
Kaiser
From his perspective, he'll hit a nice wage rise level wherever he ends up so it's more about his ambition as a player. At the moment, LFC just ain't at the races as a lure the way it used to be.
I have no love for LFC but would far prefer to see you up there challenging than the fly-by-nights with a modicum of your tradition.
Sort yerselves out ffs!
Doesn't matter how much he wants to play for you if you can't stump up the cash.
Looks like Suarez is staying then..
Bale
Just an example.
A player like him, in demand, eventually be earning £xx wherever he ends up. His choice after that is professional ambition or where he wants to live or the historical club he wants to have on his CV...
The longer LFC do not compete, the less the history and tradition can be offered as an incentive.
By all accounts we didn't get a chance to put our case to the player, that's a very poor show by our negotiatiors.
As has been pointed out we are not the draw we used to be so extra effort has to me made and it seems we sat on our hands and allowed the situation to drift.
On the other hand we compete very well for Academy players and that is where I think the priority lies as far as the owners are concerned.
