Sounds promising - never heard of him, like, and dunno if it's true, but still, promising.

She has also said that we have made bids for 3 players today, one of which is an improved bid for Grant Leadbitter.

Yeah, just saw that. Isn't he a centre mid?

I believe so. Think he plays more in the McKenna role, so that probably signals the end for Moussi.

Would Boro sell him given he was their player of the year?

The striker looks very decent

If we pull this signing off and some of the others that we have had bids for then we are seriously aiming for automatic. Our squad would be vastly improved with cover in every position: Morgan, Mulenga, Leadbitter and by the sounds of it Dbejjour as well, then that would be 4 of the 6 signings mentioned. I wonder if we'll get any of them (lol) and I wonder who the final pieces of the jigsaw might be???

Also, if we are signing all of these players then surely we have a big sponsor on the horizon, either that or we just ignore FFP. After, all, if we go up our revenue will be huge!!!

I've never heard of the lad. But I've seen a few on twitter that seem to know a bit about Greek or European football that think its a real coup for us.

Which sounds encouraging. But time will tell.

This has been doing the rounds for some time now, source of which coming from that Derek Hayford on twitter originally. No-one knows who he is, or if he can be trusted, but I expect we'll be finding out today. Lot more credibility now it's coming from Nat J. obviously however.

Ideally I'd like this Djebbour lad to be a few years younger and I think I'd prefer a proven Championship / PL player. But he appears to have a good record, so could potentially be something special... Though I guess it could also rule out the intention of re-signing Sharp?

(U18154) - I heard the Mulenga signing was made up by somebody on Twitter to see how far he could spread the rumour?

DeLaRed - how old is djebbour?

And do people think Leadbitter would be a good signing? Never been that impressed. Who's gonna make way for another centre mid - even if we do get rid of Moose, that leaves us with about 4000 of the beggars.

If leadbitter is a proper holding midfielder we need him.

AG has been playing there and has good a footballer as he is. He dwells to long on the ball at times in front of the back four, always wants another touch. It will cost us at some point.

We could do with shipping a few out. Gillet and Moose can go. We could do with loosing at least two strikers. I can't see why we offered Tudgay a contract if I'm honest

The Tudgay thing is mystifying isn't it. Think he knows some secrets about Billy.

Would be good to get a proper holding mid, but from what I've seen of Ledabitter I'm not personally very impressed. Having said that, what I've seen of him consists mostly of highlights and a few full matches, and holding mids aren't often the players that stand out the most.

SHH - He's 29... so by no means past it, but clearly a signing more for the short term - can't complain if he fires us into the PL however. His goal scoring record does look good, albeit Greek league, where even Matt Derbyshire impressed:

2008–2011 AEK Athens 58 (22)
2011–2013 Olympiacos 56 (39)
including 7 (25) in Europe

*** 25(7) in Europe...!!

Don't know a huge amount about Leadbitter but people I've spoken to seem to rate him for this league. He played every game for Sunderland when they went up and then made quite a few PL appearances, so he has good experience at this level.

I just looked leadbitter up on Wiki, saw that he was born two years after me, and thought 'well, he's still a young lad then.' Then I remembered I turn 30 soon.

That's still young in my books

The more I think about this Algerian dude, the more it seems like a pretty exciting signing. Played and scored in Europe, played in world cups. Scored a shedload in the top Greek league. Certainly more exciting than that jack russell at Prideless.

Djebbour sounds like a major signing and on wikipedia makes interesting reading. Training ground fights. Bust up with 2 managers at athens. First champions league goal in a 3 1 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Second champions league goals in a 3 1 win over arsenal

First Europa league goal is a 1 nil win against rubin kazan.
He signed a 3 year extension to his contract in january so I am wondering how we got him.
I am pretty chuffed about this. A good player with a nasty streak as we have too many good boys. Him along with Leadbitter would some steel to our team.
If he plays with the same enthusiasm as Pep then we are on to a winner.

Woah there. From the man himself minutes ago:

@ RafikDjebbour10: I deny being about to commit myself with Nottingham Forest. I have several suggestions and I give myself time to think
