On a side note, Luis Muriel 2 in 2 (1 being a penalty), this could be a huge season for him, I hope.

Dog

Don't worry, Milan will beat Juve to the title.

Giuseppe Rossi.

I see he now has three goals in two games, this is a massive season for him. He will prove people wrong.

, good luck with that.

I still harbour hopes of him returning to United one day. One of my favourite players. I think he'll thrive in that team due to the football they play.

Balotelli and Kaka will rape the league.

Seriously, I think they've got a good shout. Juve are obviously favourites but the CL will have an impact. If Juve go far in that competition they could take their eye off the ball in the league.

Marco Sau's quite good isn't he?

IOAG, Rossi wasn't in X-Men.

I thought Rossi was older than 26.

How unlucky were Villarreal two seasons ago? Not just relegation, but also the millions they missed out on a potential Rossi transfer.

DK, you reckon Kaka's still got it then? Not sure he has after 3 seasons (4 or even 5 counting his final seasons at Milan) way off his best.

Rossi still scored 82 goals at Villarreal, he definitely would have got at least 100 were it not for the injuries.

Villarreal seemed to get the best out of two United strikers who just couldn't live up to their potential.

IOAG-

We got €10m for Rossi, that is daylight robbery!

Is Rossi's first language English or Italian?

Arsedog, it's just he'd been on the radar so long...he was only 23 the first time he did his cruciates.

I'd imagine he's fully bilingual, and I'd also imagine he speak excellent if not perfect Spanish too.

Do you know when you total up the minutes he has only played just over 15 games for Italy?

Can't really knock the price, Villarreal couldn't keep him in Segunda and it was a huge risk taking him on.

It feels like Rossi's been around for ages, I remember the few appearances he had for United.

I know we couldn't, but after more than five years of great service and the fact he was a great player perhaps Roig could have loaned him out for a season- as we did with some other top players and then if we returned to La Liga we either kept him or sold him.

Uche has done well, but I'm still unsure whether he is even La Liga quality; Rossi and Forlan were top level Champions League quality and if we want those standards again I think we need another striker.

Put it this way, the fee Fiorentina paid was an absolute bargain, even with the injury concerns.

IOAG, he won't be the player he was but I think he'll rediscover some form. Being the main creative force at Milan and playing regularly will be better for him than the role he had at Madrid.

Henrik, I agree about Forlan but not Rossi. Rossi didn't live up to his potential as he never got a game. Given the attacking options and his age that made compete sense.

Forlan yeah he just couldn't quite become the player we knew he could be. I think the style of play and the fact he wasn't the main man like RVN was the main problem. He wasn't as bad as many made out and showed the talent he had but just couldn't regularly put the ball in the net. And as strikers are judged on their goals he was bound to leave and not get the nod over RVN even though I always thought he was a better footballer.

To do this Forlan not working out and leaving and Veron not showing his class are two of the most heartbreaking things that has happened at United.

Kaka scored a beauty v Depor the fiend

I hope Kaka does really well again at Milan, he was a wonderful footballer and he just never showed anywhere near the form that made Madrid spend so much on him.
