i dont know why he gets so angry about it, he's totally blind to his faults, same as Macca
Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. They're both really good posters as well. They are just too emotionally attached to him to see it.
Greg and SLM are probably the other two that are on that level.
Rob was, but he's come to the dark side. He was arguing with me in January that Rooney is better than Falcao and as good as all these playmakers, now hems changed his tune as Rooney wanted leave.
2nd team isnt bad either
----------------------------------Zieler-------------------------------------
Jung--------------Howedes------------Mertesacker------------Aogo
----------------------L.Bender--------------S.Bender-----------------------
------------------Gotze-----------Kroos-------------Draxler---------------
-----------------------------------Gomez-----------------------------------------
That's some strength in depth.
I still think Spain top them, though.
just, its pretty close, i think Germany's central defence is a bit suspect
Italy are very strong aswell
I think Spain's 3rd team would be ranked in the top 5.
what would spain's 3rd team be
---------------------------------De Gea-----------------------------------
Carvajal-----------I Martinez-----------Bartra-------------Moreno
---------------------------------Mario Suarez-----------------------
---------------------Herrera-----------------Koke--------------------
Tello--------------------------Negredo-----------------------Isco
still better than England
Tello
De Gea wouldn't be in the 3rd team. He still doesn't get called up for Spain.
to be honest i think he's probably Spain's best GK atm
Yeah so do I.
I wonder how long it will be before he becomes number one. It could be a while. Casillas is a legend and is still only 32!
Valdes is in very good form at the moment
ive always thought Casillas was a little over-rated tbh, he's a top GK, but he's talked about alongside Buffon, Schmeichel etc when in reality he's miles away from their level, Cech is also a far superior GK
Can't really agree there, Mex. I think he's been one of the top keepers in the last 20 years.
He's been around for ages, so is bound to have fluctuations in form, but he's maintained an excellent level for a very long time.
He has flaws, of course, but even the best keepers have.
One thing I think that he doesn't get enough credit for is his ability to come up with the big saves in the big moments. Especially for Spain. I don't think they'd have won the last three tournaments without him.
dont get me wrong, he's a great keeper, but he isnt an all time great, if you know what i mean
Fair play. I disagree. But I do also place a lot of importance on international tournaments when defining the greats.
Many people nowadays don't and completely dismiss international football. But for me it's still the biggest stage. And the true greats need to combine club with country.
If Messi doesn't achieve anything on the world stage. While being an all time great in his own right, he'll have failed to live up to the true greats of football.
Just my opinion, though.
I might make an article tomorrow on the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers
i think International Football has changed though, its not the be all and end all for players in europe nowadays, the Champions League is and i agree, if you offered me United winning the CL and england winning the WC, itd be United everytime
Fair play, Mex. I do understand that but to me, personally, international football is very important. And when we are talking the true greats, like your Maradona's, Zidane's and Ronaldo's, the international stage should be achieved to enter that legendary status.
Kent I know you love international football as much as me. I think most people in England just don't like it because we are crap and our club teams are good.
I'd love to see England win the World Cup. I cannot think of anything more fulfilling as a football fan than seeing your country win the World Cup.
Yeah, if England were playing great football and winning things people would be going crazy about it
Zidane - best player of my lifetime
didnt you watch Ronaldo then?
I did, and think Zidane was better
