Anyone use to play the Baggio free kick game?
IOAG, there is that but I also don't think he was driven enough. Every manager he's worked under has said this.
Look at Messi and Cristiano, for me, neither are as talented and Dinho was. But their drive and determination far surpasses Dinho's.
I think that really says a lot about how good he was. But he's just one in a long list of flawed geniuses.
It's why I really give Messi and Ronaldo their due. What they've achieved in their careers is absolutely astonishing and not a great example of their ability but their mentality.
I struggle to think of any player that has maintained such a high standard for so long. Even the true grates had massive dips in form but these two never seen to the the extent many others have.
He buggered off while I was typing.
Night.
What I am about to say may be shot down but
In terms of Footballer I think CR is better than Messi
I base it on almost purely this
Which one do I think could walk into a team in the Ryman leagues and take them up to at least Championship level
I don't think Messi has all the attributes where there isn't really anything CR could do
tippy, i sort of agree in a way, i think Ronaldo could walk into any team and perform as he does now, whereas Messi needs the team building around him, Messi is still the better player though IMO
I think Messi is the best at one kind of football
Little Tippy tappy passes and quick build up : Messi > Ronaldo
Counter attack: Ronaldo>Messi
On the back foot: Ronaldo>Messi
Pump it Stoke styley: Ronaldo>Messi
put it this way, if they swapped teams, ronaldo would be better for barca than messi would for madrid

Agreed
Think Ronaldo and Bale in the same team is a big mistake aswell
They both like the ball all the time and do an almost identical job but Ronaldo does it better I'd rather Di Maria than Bale
To be honest, I think it's really hard to say.
Ronaldo has been exceptional in two of the best leagues with two or the best and biggest teams in the world. You've really gotta give him credit for that.
However, it's unfair to write Messi off because he's only played in one side. It's something that may go against him as he'll be accused of never leaving his comfort zone.
He doesn't need to move to appease the masses that say he can only do it at Barca. But I don't think it's something that should be used in Ronaldo's favour because nobody can say with any authority whether he would or wouldn't be as good at a different team.
I'd love to see it. In a inferior team he might even be better as he could express himself a bit more rather than being part of the tika taka machine that also makes opponents refuse to play football.

No chance. Look at Sanchez playing tika taka. I know he's not Ronaldo but his style doesn't suit them.
Messi at Madrid would still be better than Ronaldo, as I alluded to in my last post.
Morning guys.
Darren, if you're talking drive, from what I've read few have been more driven than Di Stefano. Scored in all 5 of his European Cup final appearances btw.
Tippy, I can't agree on CR/Messi.
I don't even see CR as being more complete at all. He might have the edge in a pure sprint, but Messi's close control at top speed is far greater and his passing is far better. Thing is you don't often see Barça play on the counter so how Messi could exploit his qualities there isn't so clear.
What do you mean 'on the back foot'? If it's just a synonym for on the break, then as above; if it's in closed play, then I obviously disagree again, because a. Messi can get past players with much greater ease b. draws players towards himself like a swarm
c. can thread eye-of-the-needle passes CR couldn't even imagine, let alone see or execute
Even his free-kicks nowadays are better than CR's, as he balances power and precision far better.
Ok, so CR scores 1 or maybe 2 belters a season from 35 yards, it makes for great highlight reels but it doesn't add up to much at the end of the year.
Heading. I'll give you that.
Even in a lower league, I know who I'd prefer: the guy who can just as easily get past 5 opponents or pick a team mate out with a jaw-dropping pass, who can execute a perfect free-kick and, to top it all, is the superior goalscorer.
Also bear in mind that the lower the level, the more important Messi's attribute become. Unparalleled passing and dribbling are much harder skills to master than running or heading, and precision is more important than raw power. It's likely you'll find more of the latter in the lower leagues and that the former will make a much bigger difference.
DTKF, i tell you who was more talented than Dinho - Jay Jay Okocha.
People might scoff - and rightfully so - but there are things Okocha did on a pitch that Dinho never did.
Enough with this CR vs Messi debates: let's celebrate the fact that these two greats are strutting their stuff in my life-time.
Has anyone seen Mario Gomez's quotes in the media today?
"Ancelotti was interested," he told Kicker. "I was flattered, because my whole family are fans of Real Madrid. "I thanked him for his interest and told me advisor that I just wanted to go to Florence. "For me it was clear - I wanted to keep giving everything again properly and not to just play half the games in a top team and obtain many titles. I want to play Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday."
