Arsenal have signed Sanogo

Hey guys, have you heard about the guy who ran 5km and me the Arsenal team on their bus? I think I'll make an article about it

No chance of going 50m imo. The plan from here in my opinion, is show Suarez the master plan (financials and how they guarantee success within the next 3 years) offer him a huge wage and flirt a little bit. Then hope he goes all mercenary and forces his way out of the club for a below par fee.

If we don't sign Suarez what will you do?

Hopefully that'll be enough. Another player of similar calibre being in place would help too.

If they don't sell, as Arsenal have been able to talk to the player, Suarez can stay for the rest of his contract and they will get ZERO transfer fee. Suarez will not discuss a new contract with them and they will not be able to sell to someone else. Technically Liverpool can force Suarez to stay. But they then have to force him to stay for the rest of his contract. They can't change their mind in the future for someone else.

According to the sports lawyer in talksport.

Although the release clause is not the same as the release clause in Spain it has the same effect.

It's utter bull, they can't sell to someone else

There are not many good strikers available when you think about it!
I really don't want Suarez, but I have to support him if he comes. we better win the bloody quadruple with all that money we are spending

According to the sports lawyer because we have met the release clause. And Liverpool are turning down the release.

In Spain the player would just be allowed to buy-out the remaining years, slightly different in this country apparently.

Sort of makes sense. Its akin to when a player is allowed to talk to another club in Jan in his final year for a Bosman. Once you allow the player to talk, he will move away when his contract expires. (he won't sign a new contract). The time for that is usually 6 months but in Suarez's case its 3 years.

So let me get this right, you believe that if Liverpool say no to arsenal, they can't sell him to anyone else

Can't think that way. I will be happy with at least one trophy and challenging for the title till the very end.

Listen to it yourself, it will be on a podcast by tomorrow.

Now it makes sense why Arsenal have done it this way. I am sure they were completely aware of the negative reaction to the one pound!

No the reason they have bid the amount, is to then talk to him, and hope he then wants to force the move

What your saying is complete bull

I quite like the fact we offered one pound extra. It's cheeky as hell, I love it

He'll end up at Madrid though.

Jenius? Are for real? That's like saying any club that's rejected a transfer for a player shouldn't have sold that player to any other team for the duration of his contract.

Ie.. Barcelona can't sell Fabregas to anyone else.

Farcical reasoning!

Thats a stipulation in the release clause. Of course the sports lawyer was guessing whats the actual wording in the clause.

I am just repeating what he said. It is illogical as you suggest but apparently he was taking it from how release clauses work for Bosman in this country.
