wigan v CHELSEA

-----------------Neuer----------------
Lahm----S.Kaya----Nastasic----Indi
---------------L.Bender---------------
---------Fabregas--Hamsik----------
J.Navas---------------------Ramirez
---------------S.Aguero--------------

Blackman, Rhijn, Kompany, Vidal, Neymar, Lukaku, Rhodes

Neuer is a top keeper, great shot stopper and instills confidence in the back 4. Always shouting and keeping them right. Off his line quickly to shut down strikers to reduce their angles. Quick kicks/throws to release forwards or if need to hold on and wait till everyone getting back.

Lahm and Indi are quite attack minded, but as I always stress only one attacks at a time, supporting the wingers by either going outside to make an extra man to take the fullback away to make more room for the winger, or cut inside making an extra man in the middle, both have useful shots so are not afraid to have a go. Defending then they must keep the wingers quiet, dont dive in and keep them to the outside, the RW likes to cut in so Lahm must be aware of this and make sure he is kept quiet. Indi also on the other side, keep the winger to the outside and away from the danger area. Nothing silly, clear the lines..Kaya this time is given the man marking role, keep the CF quiet and that is a massive goal threat out of the game, match his runs and always keep an eye on him even if we are attacking, so if they get a quick break Kaya is there to stop him, stop him early and dont allow him the time or space to get his shot away. Nastasic up for corners so Kaya keeps an eye on CF when he is up field. Nastasic sits as a spare defender, he watches any other danger coming through or if the CF breaks free he is their to stop him. Clear all danger early, up for headers and power away, no messing at the back today!

Bender is the defensive midfielder, he sits just in front of the two Centre Backs, allowing more freedom to Fabregas and Hamsik, he watches there most attack minded central midfielder, so Bender must get onto him before he starts horsing through the middle and into dangerous positions.
Be onto him early and do not allow him to dictate play and spray the passes about.
Hamsik is the more defensive minded of him and Cesc so he will be up and down supporting defence and attack, when they have he will sit alongside Bender stopping there danger men coming through, he always gets into the face of his opposite number, attacking he will pick the ball up and move it forward, either out wide or through the middle, he will always follow his pass making himself available to others so they can move into space for him to pick out, a fantastic shot so will have a pop from range if the opportunity arises. Cesc is more attack minded and will support Aguero as much as he can, with Bender and Hamsik controlling the middle Cesc will be given the freedom to roam, when attacking he will get himself about and into positions of danger to them, will always look for the ball and pass and move at all times, get it out wide or again through to Aguero and move up, even get ahead of Aguero looking for lay offs or knock downs and look to get in on goal. Will drop deep when they have and keep an eye on the DM or CBs moving forward and look to stop them from becoming a danger.

Navas and Ramirez provide the width today, Navas is quick and skillful and will run at his marker looking to get his way into the box, will use Cesc, Hamsik, Aguero etc to pass and move into the box, when Lahm is supporting he will watch him drive pass and decide wether to play the ball down he line or wait for his marker to go with Lahm allowing him more room to cut inside. Ramirez very dangerous and a goal threat, he will go out, enjoy himself, dont do it all by himself and always look to bring others into the game if he is heavily marked. Pass and move or like Navas get to the bye line and cross the ball into dangerous areas..Both will watch their fullbacks when they have and track there runs, not the best markers but as long as they stand in front and chase them down then that will do and stop them coming too far forward.

Aguero is a huge goal threat, the front 3 today will always be moving about causing confusion in the Wigan back line as they will move about, drifting inside and outside, there markers will be moved about and torn to pieces, by doing this, this drags centre halves and fullbacks all about the box so will make room for Cesc and Hamsik to run into, even Lahm and Indi could find room to have a shot at goal, quick movement and always on his toes, Aguero will find himself getting plenty chances so he must take them, good with both feet and can shoot from acute angles..If he cant then set up those around him as he is a powerful man and not easily shrugged off the ball for a smaller player, defenders will find it hard to keep control of him.

Quick, dynamic passing from the team, one-twos to get round there markers, neat triangles, get to the bye-line and cross in, pressurise them into silly passes and maintain this for the entire match, we want to go through...

-------------------------------------Adler--------------------------------
----Van Der Weil------Rolando-----Dominguez------Angel---
--------------------------Mavuba--------Sahin------------------------
----Callejon----------------------Martin-------------------Gaitan---
-----------------------------------Lisandro-----------------------------

Subs: McCarthy, Inkoom, Rolando, Olsson, Romeu, Joaquin, Rudnevs.

Game Plan: At home to Man City we are looking to get in there faces and press them hard and look to tire them. We will look to try and get the ball off them and make them chase it down to tire them out. We will look to win the game but if we can't then we need to make sure we don't lose the game at the same time and try and get a point. To do this we need to have quick, dynamic passing with plenty of sharp 1-2's to get past their players.

Adler - Strong goalkeeper, got to communicate to the back 4 and make sure he commands his area, collect what he can and distribute well.

Van Der Weil and Angel will be an important part to this game for us. They will mark the wingers. if the wingers go wide, they tuck in a little bit more and show them down the outside. They must get the strong tackle in and prevent them from crossing and cutting inside. When we have the ball, Angel will be the one that sits back but will sometimes look for the ball and play it down the line. Van Der Weil will be the one to ask more questions of their defence and give more support and if he does bomb up the line, he must tell the RW to cover his position. His crossing must be of a good standard and his passing in attacking areas.

Rolando and Dominguez will be pivotal in our game. Dominguez marks the striker, tightly. He does not allow him to twist or turn away from him. if he does, he slides in and wins the ball and breaks their attack down. he must win every header and tackle that comes about by being fearless. He needs to keep him quiet and keep their goal threat out of the game as much as possible. He needs to keep pace with him and make sure he follows his runs. Rolando will sit 10 yards deeper. He will sweep in behind Dominguez. he can confidently use both feet so he is best suited for this role. He watches any other danger over the top and communicates to Adler. if the ST gets past Dominguez, his job is to hold him up and not allow him through and allow us to get men behind the ball. Make sure everything is clear and take the pressure off our back line.

Mavuba and Sahin are also key to our objective against Man City. Mavuba is the DM. He sits just in front of the back 4 offering them some protection. He will mark City's AM. he will allow Sahin and Martin more freedom. he follows their AM every move and makes sure he gets the tackles won. he needs to really hassle him so he can't create and start to dictate the game. Sahin will be our CM. he will be the link between attack and defence. he will look to play the passes into the more attacking minded players, whether that'd be a long ball or short pass along the ground. He must make sure these passes connect. he looks to play through balls and offers Martin more support so he can look to set an attack off. However, when we are defending, he will be the one who hassles the CM's the most and looks to stop any midfield runners before they crowd into better areas. He will hassle and chase the ball down so we can look to set off quick counter attacks. if he doesn't perform well, he could lose us the game altogether.
Martin's job will be the attacking midfielder. he will roam around looking for space all over the pitch and where he can. he will look to drop into deeper areas and collect the ball. he will try and dictate the play and spray passes across their defence line and make the defence hesitate about whether they should come or not for the ball. We need him to support our striker and wingers and look to play quick 1-2's and through balls all the time. I want him to him to a good number of shot and test the keeper.

Callejon and Gaitan will provide the width. They are both quick and skilful so they will look to get in behind the full backs if the midfielders play a through ball or look to take them on with their pace skill. They will drive at their marker and look to get into the box. if they are shown wide, they must try and win something or get a cross into the box towards Lisandro our big goal threat. They are both very dangerous goal threats so they have proven so they need to make sure they try and get into good positions to shoot or shoot themselves. They must have quick movement to get past the full backs. They both need to cover their full backs if they bomb up the line and they need track their runners and get their bodies behind the ball.

Lisandro will be our big ST. he is physical and has a lot of power so we want to use that to our advantage against City as they are slightly dodgy at the back especially looking at there CB's with their aerial ability. Lisandro's aerial ability is outstanding so we are looking to make sure we use that to full strength. When crosses come into the box, he needs to get in front and above his marker and head powerfully down into the ground and towards the corners. if he gets put through 1v1, he holds off the defender and slots into the opposite corner to the keepers position if he is straight down the middle at goal, pick a corner. He is a huge goal threat from crosses and Set Pieces so we need to use that to our advantage.

---------------------------Cech
vanovic---Hummels---Agger---Clichy
----------------------------Inler
-------------Schweiny--------Modric
Payet------------------------------------Ribery
---------------------Gomez
Subs
Begovic, Juanfran, Schmelz, Barry, Lennon, Dembele, Auby

Tactics
An attack-minded 4-3-3 formation with emphasis on keeping possession and playing with width to stretch the opposition.

Keeper
When distributing the ball, he should look to keep it simple and play the percentage pass. At crosses and set pieces, should look to punch rather than attempt any catches with an element of risk.

Full Backs
When going forward, the wingers will be playing a mostly wide game so should look to play behind the wingers, giving them an option to play it safely back if there is no forward option, and they should also look to provide width if the wingers cut inside. When defending, they should look to just track the wingers and aim to keep them on their wrong foot and block any crosses.

Centre Backs
Hummels will compete for the aerial balls, and Agger will look to collect the 2nd ball, when the ball is on the floor, the onus is more on blocks than tackles. When on the ball, if the opposition are giving them space to come out with the ball, then they can take it forward, if not, just look to play it simple to a man in space and keep possession.

Defensive Midfielder
Inler will look to just sit in front of the back 4, looking to cover the full backs when they go forward. and when we are defending, he will track the opposition AM, only leaving him if another Midfielder is making inroads into the final third with the ball.

Centre Mids
Both are comfortable on the ball, and both have engines to last the full 90/120 with a high energy game, when they are on the ball Schweiny will look to make a pass more than a run, and vice versa for Modric, but both can do the opposite jobs as effectively, if either man is running with the ball, they are comfortable with shooting from outside the box, so should look to test the keeper quite often. When defending, they will look to use their high energy to press the opposition midfielders when they are on the ball.

Wingers
They should look to stay as wide as possible when they receive the ball to try and stretch the defensive line and create space for midfield runners and Gomez. When on the ball, both wingers have the ability to stay wide and put a cross in, or cut inside to try and make space for a shot, so should look to pick out which is the best option at the time, if they do cut inside, the full backs should have moved forward to occupy the touchline and provide an out ball if there is no other option. If they have taken the opposition full back out of the game, they shouldnt be afraid to go into the box, as defenders will be extra cautious to not give away a penalty, and this provides the option of just drilling a cross to Gomez or a simple drag back to the CM's, who should be taking positions on the edge of the box. When the opposite winger has the ball, the winger without the ball should look to find space between the CB and full back to add an extra body for any crosses or capitalise on any defensive errors.

Striker
When defending, he should look to keep tabs on the defensive midfielder to stop any easy balls being played back to him, when attacking, he should just hang around the centre backs with his back to goal, looking to receive any balls and hold up the play to try and draw a foul or play in one of the wingers, when wingers are in a wide position, he should look to take up space a couple of yards away from the CB's to give him a better chance at attacking with momentum onto any crosses

Set Pieces
Corners - Modric and Schweiny take in swinging corners, the 2 CB's go into the box, Clichy and Inler stay back to prevent counters, the CB's, Ivan and Gomez attack the ball, the non taking CM and the Wingers take positions just outside the box to pick up any weak defensive headers or knockdowns.

Free Kicks - For direct FK's Schweiny and Modric will shoot depending on which foot it favours. For Indirect FKs, follow the same directives for Corners

Penalties - Schweiny is the designated taker.

Subs

If Winning
65 mins - Barry for Schweiny - Barry goes to DM alongside Inler, Modders just in front of the 2, we shore the game up defensively, and focus on counter attacks

75 mins - Juanfran and Schmelz for Ribery and Payet - Clichy LW, Juanfran RW Fresh legs for counters, further defensive security.

If Losing
62 mins - Juanfran, Dembele and Auby for Ivanovic, Payet and Modric - Auby and Ribery move closer to Gomez, with Dembele playing just behind the 3, launch balls for Gomez and pressurise the defence.

---Daniel Carvajal---Howedes------David Luiz-----Criscito
----------------Javi Martinez---------Felllaini------------
------Mario Gotze----------Toni Kroos--------Julian Draxler
--------------------------------Lewandowski

Subs: Timo Horn, Mauro Icardi, Moutinho, Rode, Fernandinho, Bonucci, Shaw

Game Plan: We will look to attack our opponents on the counter, using a slick, pass and move game. We believe we have the abilities in defence to pass the ball out and start counter attacks, as Howedes is dynamic and will carry the ball forward, and alongisde him, David Luiz is so good with his feet, he has been deployed at CM by Rafa. Daniel Carvajal and Criscito can also pick out a pass down the wings, and they should look to make supporting runs on the outside of our wingers. In midfield, Javi Martinez will defend our backline, and he is one of those DM's that will never give up, and always hassle and harry the opposition. He is also a very good passer, and he will look to spread play out to the wings, and break up play, before keeping the ball alongside Felllaini. Felllaini is best known for his dynamic runs, brilliant passing, and fantastic vision, so he will play in the dictator role, before turning into a kind of flair player when needed. Ahead of him, Mario Gotze and Draxler have got to be one of the most dangerous front line ever, packed with potential, and all of them world class on their day. Felllaini will control the game from CM, and will be in support of Lewandowski and Mario Gotze at all times. He will look to pick the ball up from midway, and direct those power shots into the corners. He will also look to use his top vision to find ways to release Mario Gotze and Draxler. Mario Gotze's job will be to run at the LB, take him on, and whip in low balls for Lewandowski and Draxler, who are both guaranteed to finish them off. Julian Draxler will be on the other end, and use his dazzling dribbling ability, and superb acceleration to turn away from fullbacks, and clip in high balls for Lewandowski to throw himself at. Lewandowski will be the one who will finish off every move, and he is top scorer in the League for a reason. His fantastic positioning and his marauding runs in the box will confuse opposition, and Lewandowski will then attempt to finish off every ball which comes into the box. Lewandowski will be winning everything in the air, and finishing with an aplomb. He his two-footed, and is a wonderful finisher, so will look to attack every ball, and link up well with Mario Gotze. Howedes and Daniel Carvajal come up for corners in the first half, Luiz, Daniel Carvajal and Howedes all come up for corners in the second half.

Freekicks - Kroos
Penalties - Kroos
Corners - Toni Kroos
Captain - Howedes

Full Backs

Daniel Carvajal will start at right full back. Powerful, full of tactical awareness, and he is as comfortable with the ball at his feet as he is defending. Criscito is at left back. 2 very pacy and powerful full backs who while first and foremost are there to defend will also join in going forward when the moment is right and will cause the opposition wide men a few headaches with their directness and pace. Both the full backs first priority is to defend and leave no gaps to exploit. Both Daniel Carvajal and Criscito can match their wingers for pace.

Centre Halves

Howedes and D.Luiz form a formidable no-nonsense unit in the centre of the defence and their aggression makes this a back 4 to be reckoned with. Both are very big men and possess great aerial ability and are very strong in the tackle and this should ensure that we can more than handle most things that are thrown at them. Two big men with not only defending but also footballing ability in their locker. Both with good positioning sense and very good decision makers. It’s a very powerful and pacy defence and all four players are very, very talented with the ball at their feet and remained composed and know exactly what to do when in possession.

Central Midfield

Javi Martinez and Felllaini will be the central midfield pairing. They will be asked to keep the midfield ticking over and give protection to the back four. Each of them will cover for their full back if he has joined the attack. Javi Martinez will be the more defensive of the 2 and will boss the midfield. He’s a big, powerful midfielder with a huge engine and will cover every blade of grass on the field. Felllaini will operate as the box to box in midfield. Extremely comfortable with the ball he will keep our midfield moving. Equally as comfortable playing deep or on the front foot he will not neglect his defensive duties when necessary but we will see the best of him with the ball at his feet instigating our attacks. He has a wide range of passes in his locker and his guile will be a key factor in making sure our midfield has space penetration and that there is always someone in a position to receive the pass. Both of them possess a lethal shot so there will probably be a few efforts from distance if the chance arises. These 2 will be expected to run pull the strings from midfield from the off and will be crucial to our passing game. He will be the creator in the team and with a book of tricks and a wide range of passing along with agility and shooting ability he will be linking with the wingers and striker to attack the opponents. He has power, pace and is a real handful and this coupled with the calmness and control of Javi Martinez and the physicality and style of Felllaini will mean our midfield will see a lot of the ball.

Attacking Midfield

Toni Kroos will be playing the AM role today. His job is crucial to the team, as they will sit just in front of the DM, and will look to get the ball up to Lewandowski. Toni Kroos will create that extra magic that is needed to unlock defences, whilst Felllaini will sit back, just behind him, ready to help out. He will be crucial in our Counter-attacking game, as he will be the ones to supply the striker, and deliver those long, lung-busting runs across the pitch. Toni Kroos will link up the play from Midfield to attack, being an enormous threat from long shots and his movement will cause plenty of problems for the opposition DM as they will have a top class AMs all over them, pressing them back towards their own defence.

Left and Right Wing

Mario Gotze and Julian Draxler will play on the right and left wing. These are 2 wingers with bags of pace. They will be expected to supply things for Lewandowski, and their pace will cause a lot of problems. They will be expected to attack the opponents back four and supported by their full backs get past their man and get the ball in for Lewandowski. This is an area we will look to exploit with our pacy wingers and powerful marauding full backs. We will look to stretch their defence out of shape and with fast and direct running I can see a lot of space opening up for the very quick and cunning Lewandowski . Both wingers provide a goal threat so expect to see them vary their attacks and cut inside when the time is right and drag their full back to the byline as well. Their pace and width will be a key factor in opening up space for the attack and by making the pitch very big and hugging the touchline it will also give our two midfield lynchpins more time and space to manoeuvre hopefully meaning that we can get a real grip on the midfield battle. We have an abundance of speed out wide and up front and I think our attack have the edge over the opposition wide men – both in terms of speed and physicality. That coupled with a couple of marauding full backs (when on the attack) should prove a fruitful area for us. With Julian Draxler and Mario Gotze both able to take on a man and hug the touchline we will look to exploit this area. Their 2 centre halves will not be able to match Lewandowski for speed so hopefully with the wingers stretching their full backs it will create a situation where one of their 2 centre halves will need to decide if he is going to go with Lewandowski or Mario Gotze which should open up more than enough space for one of these 3 to create a chance on goal.

Striker

Up front Lewandowski will spearhead the attack. I am putting my faith in him after his brilliant displays this season, in the hope he will get us a goal againsty a very weak defence. He has pace, and movement ability is top notch. There will be no shortage of chances created for him and I would expect it to be a hard day at the office for the opposition’s central defenders with Lewandowski equally as good in the air as with the ball at his feet. He is also a powerful runner and has a good reading of the game and runs fantastic lines. This doubled with Mario Gotze' superb vision, support and passing ability will hopefully prove productive for him. He is great at playing off the shoulder of the last defender and his powerful physique usually ensures that he always gets a yard on the last defender. He’s also a great link up man and holding the ball up – so when he doesn’t feel that there is something on then he will be providing for other and bringing Mario Gotze and the supporting wingers into play in dangerous areas. Lewandowski will be too much for Opposition's CB's, and will make deadly angled runs to get into a scoring position. He must also look to wriggle away from the attention of the CB's.

Summary

We will concentrate on doing what we do best and playing to our strengths – keeping hold of the ball and working it simply around the park. Nothing flash or risky – just possession football. Patience could be the key and if we keep it tight we have the personnel to get us a goal. We also pose a very dangerous threat on the counter. We have pace to move the ball forward very quickly and enough pace to regain our shape if the opposition turn it around and try and counter us. In defence Felllaini will sit deeper along with Javi Martinez, and will be expected to be his energetic self and press the opposition midfield and knock them out of their rhythm. Our wingers and full backs will sit a bit deeper to stay alert and ready to use their speed at any chance of a counter. With the ability of our team to change formation depending on the circumstances I think we have enough in midfield and out wide to starve them from the ball and with. This will open up acres of space and with neat simple passing and bags of pace I can see this being a very productive area for us. We will be looking to get bodies in the box. With fast and fluid attacking play Lewandowski and Mario Gotze will always have support in this area and our wide men will always have a target to get the ball in to. With the trickery of Mario Gotze, Mario Gotze and Julian Draxler then the opposition can always expect the unexpected.

Subs:

60mins: Mauro Icardi > Lewandowski, offers much bigger aerial threat and great at finishing and positiong is brilliant, must look to bag a goal

60mins: Moutinho > Fellaini, Offers much better vision and passing range, Moutinho must look to pass the ball around, and him and Martinez in midfield is a midfield that would be very hard to get the ball off

75mins: Shaw > Criscito, offers much better attacking play from LB, and Shaw has a great cross on him, must link up well with Draxler, and aim for Icardi and the likes from his inswingers

Hart is a vocal keeper and will command his back line.
Jagielka will mark Hull’s main striker while Lescott will sweep away any loose balls in the box.
Iraola and Monreal have the licence to go forward and support the attack when necessary
M’Vila will break up play .he is the enforcer in midfield, Cabeye will act as the play maker with good distribution of the ball making the team tick. The French duo will work great together.
Ben Arfa and Turan will as always attack the full backs with great pace and dribbling, whipping balls into the box or cutting inside and taking a shot so they don’t become predictable. The two can also act as inside forwards if necessary
Michu is lethal in the air and had good control of the ball. He will play behind Ba, playing him through or taking a shot from his knockdowns
Ba will use his strength and pace to bully the Hull defence. He will hold the ball up if he has little support to bring other into play. Goalscorer.

-----------------Villa

Subs: Alves, Kalas, Marrone, Beñat, Piazon, Hernandez, Martinez

Captain: Dante
Free Kicks: Mata
Penalties: Villa
Corners: Mata/Lamela

Game Plan:
This will be a tough game but we are in confident mood with plenty of players in top form. We will look to get hold of the ball and draw Birmingham out in order to open up spaces and then we look to use our pace to really hurt them. Defensively we have the pace and power in the midfield to really stop them from being able to build attacks quickly, forcing them to play infront of us and working hard to win the ball back and then break forward. Whenever we lose possession we are getting numbers back behind the ball in our half but also we want to press from the front in order to keep the ball with us.

Tactics:
Courtois commands his area, coming out to collect crosses and relieve pressure on the defence and using his pace to narrow the angle quickly when needed. Looks to throw the ball out in order to start quick attacks, if its not an option keep it and play out from the back.

The FBs have a license to join the attacks when it's building down their side. Azpi looks to get beyond Lamela and to the byline where he can put crosses on, we want to double up on the FB so he should make runs around Lamela and look to link with him to get space to deliver dangerous balls in. Marcelo does the same on the other side however he can switch things up by cutting in and running at players, before sliding a neat ball into a runner or going for goal. Defensively they don't get too tight to the opposition wingers, they have them a little bit of room but this will stop them from being able to accelerate into space, as soon as the wingers has picked his option our FB is onto him and getting a tackle in, not allowing them inside and making it difficult to get a cross in, particularly Azpi who is an excellent defender 1 v 1 and Marcelo has the pace and know how to push the winger into difficult positions.

Dante and N'Koulou will work together to stop the striker. Don't be sucked into him, he's not the fastest so won't be able to get a run on us. Instead we look to read the play, one going to the striker to get the challenge in, the other dropping back and dealing with the second ball if needed, this way Birmingham can't play in behind us, we don't see their striker as a threat in front of us. We have the aerial ability to get rid of crosses and the pace and reading of the game to be quick to get a tackle in and stop the striker getting into the area where he's most dangerous, making him play closer to the midfield which will make everything very crowded. The Cb who's dropped back should also be aware of midfield runners, not allowing them in and around the box in space and beating them to the ball. When we win the ball Dante has an excellent range of passing and should look to launch a quick counter whenever possible. When were on the ball in our own half, there's the option to get it back to the CBs and push the FBs on just to open the game up.

Matuidi and Ramires are a dynamic pairing with plenty of pace and power between them, as well as the ability to get goals and good passing. Matuidi will be the DM, however this won't sacrifice his attacking as he can get forward with Ramires dropping back. However when in a defensive position when we are getting men behind the ball Matuidi will be the one to deal with the AM, he reads the game brilliantly and will always be aware of the AMs threat, shutting him down and using his power and engine to not allow him a second on the ball during the game, getting tackles in and forcing him out of the game. Ramires looks to press very quickly, shutting the players down but not getting drawn out of position and leaving gaps, he simply deals with the player in his area of the field by beating him to the ball or getting the tackles in, hounding him to not let him get time to pass. He will also be aware of any loose passes and react quickly to win the ball back and race forward. Attack wise Matuidi will have chances to attack when Ramires drops deep, he can burst forward playing one twos and looking for a shot at the end of it. His main attacking role is as the passer from deep, his range of passing will be crucial to draw Birmingham out, opening things up and looking for players in space. Ramires has a great licence to drive forward, taking players out of the game with his excellent running, looking to link play and get return passes to get in behind the defence, often making runs beyond Villa. He looks to drive at the CBs whenever possible, he's almost impossible to stop at full pace without fouls which will give us dangerous free kicks. Whenever we lose the ball these two are ready to win it back.

Lamela and Asamoah are crucial today as we look to play with width and stretch the game. Lamela looks to use his trickery to attack the FB and link with Azpi to get crosses in or get behind. He uses his clever movement to make runs between Cb and FB where he can work a shot on goal or cut the ball back. Sometimes he comes inside when Mata vacates the space just to keep the opposition guessing, from here he has the pace and skill to get past challenges and play a killer through ball or get on goal. He attacks crosses at the back post, he'll always beat the FB in the air. Asamoah has played LM all season for Juve but today he has less defensive responsibility and can focus his pace and energy on getting at the FB. He should really look to stretch the game and get into crossing positions or take up positions on the inside of the FB, ready to use his pace to get away from the defence. He can link up with Marcelo, sometimes dropping deep into the more defensive position to allow Marcelo the freedom of the wing. Both wingers get back behind the ball when under pressure, ready to break out as soon as we win it back.

Mata looks to be the one who runs the show for us. Moving around, going wide and helping link the play, dropping deep and getting us forward and finding space close to Villa to link up and create chances. He goes wherever the play is as we look to get him on the ball and hurt the opposition with his passing and skill. He can make runs behind looking to get in on goal, test the keeper from distance and always move the ball on. Particularly on the counter he will be looking to open the opposition right up for the wingers and striker. When we lose the ball he works hard to help get it back.

Villa starts upfront, we want him to always be on the move, making it impossible to mark him and opening up space that his team mates can take advantage of. Use his pace to run off the shoulder and get in behind for chances, drop deep to link up the play, even move wide and allow a team mate to take up the central role. Always be on the move in the box to find space to take his shot.

Subs:

If Winning: Marrone comes on for Matuidi 70', more defensive with the killer pass to pick them off on the counter. Beñat for Mata 80', better defensive ability. Martinez for Villa 85'.

If Drawing: Piazon for Asamoah 70'. More direct running and can interchange with the other front 3. Beñat for Ramires 75', brilliant passer of the ball, creates chances. Hernandez for Villa 80', his movement will cause tired defenders lots of problems.

If Losing: 3-5-2 Marrone for Azpi 65', Asamoah RM, Mareclo LM, Lamela off Villa. Martinez for Asamoah 75', Lamela RM. Ramires for Hernandez 80' all out attack

Nkoulou Marrone Dante

EVERTON vs. Norwich

-------------Lindegaard------------------
Srna---Jones-------Garay----Taylor--
----------Veloso--Gibson----------------
---Mirallas-----Koke-------KPB---------
----------------De Jong-------------------

Subs: Benaglio, Alves, Ferdinand, Lampard, Lallana, Kightly, Jelavic

Against a managerless Norwich today but that doesn't mean we can take it easy. We need to make sure we stick to the tactics and hopefully beat them as they pull out of shape due to a lack of direction from the sidelines.

GK - Lindegaard makes his debut today, so he'll be up for it. Needs to make sure he's big and strong aerially as that's his weak spot. Very good shot stopper though.

FB - Get up and attack, take advantage of Norwich's disorder to try and supply the attackers.

CB - Garay to help guide Jones through. Both are very good defenders however and should be able to deal with any threats. Also they are a very good pairing, complementing each other well.

DM - Gibson and Veloso to act as a defensive shield whilst also getting on the ball and retaining possession. Gibson to get forward when possible, is allowed to strike from distance.

AM - Allowed to interchange, I want good quick fast flowing football to take advantage of Norwich's problems. Koke is a brilliant young player and shouldn't be scared of trying the spectacular.

ST - De Jong to play on the shoulder of the defence. Get onto the through balls of the AM's and keep calm in front of the goal.

Game plan:
My team are at home and we need to win this to keep up with our European challenge. The balance of the team looks good with the midfield 3, all of my team will be putting a shift in and give 100%. The team will look to play simple passes and will always start from the back, if the midfield run out of options they shouldn’t be afraid to start again from the back. The team will look to keep the ball on the floor as much as possible as we are not the tallest team and this may give the other team the advantage. We will look to play wider with the wide players keeping the options open for the team. When my team are crossing the ball drilled crosses will be preferred.
When it comes to the opposition we will look to close them down quickly and give them no time on the ball, always trying to make them rush their passes and cause mistakes. We will look to disrupt the tempo of the game and ideally we will want dictate the tempo ourselves. We will show their wide players onto their weaker foot and into the corner.
Lloris:
Lloris is a decent keeper and he will look to demand his area, he will collect/punch crosses and he will collect loose balls that come into the box. He will use a big voice if he wants the ball left by the defenders.
Debuchy and Ekotto:
(Attacking) – They will look to receive the ball from the keeper and start attacks from the back but I don’t want them to hoof the ball they will look to pass the ball out. When the team are attacking I would like both players to push up and provide an option for the wide men. I would also like them to overlap to also help the wide men and put in a decent crosses. Both players however will need to make sure if they commit to an attack that they can get back if the opposition launch a counter attack if they are not confident then I don’t want them to push up as much.
(Defending) When these players are defending I will ask them to talk to the wide men infront of them if they need cover or help. I will ask for these players to stick tight to the opposition wide men and to show them onto their weaker foot to weaken the cross and guide them into the corner and try to concede a throw in rather than a throw in. If a CB commits to an attack I would like these players to cover and holes in the defense that need to be covered.
Kaboul and Rami:
(Attacking) – Both of the defenders will look to collect the ball from the goalkeeper and they will look to start attacks by passing the ball into the midfield however if there is no opening in midfield they should look for the long ball (preferably out wide) or they should not be shy to keep it in the defense and encourage players to make openings for them. For corners both players should go up and one or both of the full backs will cover.
(Defending) – Kaboul will mark the main striker he will stick close to him and will use his power to beat the player in the air, he will show him onto his weaker foot and look to dispossess him without giving away any silly fouls.
Rami will take the second striker or he will provide cover for Kaboul and will clean up loose balls. If he is marking another striker I would also like him to make the player play on his weaker foot and show him away from goal.
Diame and Witsel
(Attacking) – Both of these players will be playing the deeper role in the team and they will both look to spread the play over the pitch when they are position however they will look to play it simply and not over complicate their passes and wont play still passes that will cost us possession.
Witsel will be the player to push up if we are struggling to create many chance where as Diame will not and will Stay back, Witsel will be used as the box to box midfielder and will need to work hard.
(Defending) – Both players will need to close the opposition down quickly and give them no space looking to dispossess them and start quick attacks when they do they will need to rush West Brom this is important that they do this!! They will look to track the runs of the oppositions and one of them must make sure they are picking up the most creative Villa player in the midfield.
Marchisio
Marchisio can finally be given the free role in the team he will look to create attacks, join attacks, get into the box when he can, collect the ball and always look to make something happen. The free role will enable him to move anywhere on the pitch to collect the ball and make things happen this will make him harder to mark aswell.
When we are defending he needs to close the opposition down as he is not afraid of putting in a tackle and is more than capable of dispossessing the oppsotion and breaking at pace so he will close the opposition down and when we win the ball back look to get into good positions to receive the ball so he can start attacks.
Niang and Destro:
(Attacking) – Niang and Destro will look to stick to the wings when not in possession they will look to receive the ball all the time and these two will need to put a shift in. They will look to take on their defenders and get to the byline and put crosses in for the strikers, as said above drilled crosses will be better for our players to try and get onto the end of. If they are feeling more confident both players can cut inside and take on the defenders and lay the ball off or have a shot, they will be asked to mix it up and not make their play to predictable. They will use the full backs to create space in behind the defenders for them to run into. If our team win possession they need to look to run into space to create a counter attack
(Defending) – Both players will need to put a shift in defensively also they will look to track back the runs of the Boro full backs. They will look to help out our full backs by doubling up on the winger if the opposition full backs don’t commit to the attack. If our full backs commit too far forward they will also look to cover the full back positions if needed.
Huntelaar:
(Attacking) - Huntelaar is a clinical finisher and will not be afraid to run at defenders and unleash a shot or two. He will be in the box when the crosses come into the box to try and get a tap in.
Marchisio will be having the free role so will be able to join Huntelaar and Huntelaar can use Marchisio to make space to create chances.

Cazorla > Yaya - 70th minute - Look to inject some pace into the game looking to continue where Yaya left off using his swiftness, vision and passing range to play others in.

Walker > Silva - 70th minute (Alves - RW) - Walker RB, look to use Alves more as an outlet down the right looking to attack Rafeal in the later stages

S.Roberto > Garcia – 80th minute – Fresh legs in midfield look to aid Busquets in ticking things over and close down efficiently.
---------------------------------------------------
Tactics:

Reina will look to stay sharp and focused and look to take command of his box. He will come out for anything within his reach and narrow the angle for opposing strikers whilst distributing possession to players in space to efficiently start attacks.

Alves and Cole start as fullbacks. They both have an extremely important role to play today as want to impose ourselves on the opposition as much as possible however they should look to carry out defensive duties when required as they take it in turns to roam forward. Alves on the right will look to push up and support Silva whenever possible, I want the typical powerful runs forwards that he’s known for that intimidate the opposition FB outmuscling and pushing him back as much as possible . He should look to get in behind on a regular basis and to the byline so Silva always has the option to stretch the play outwide when Alves is on the ball I want him to whip it into the box with pace whilst occasionally cutting inside and causing havoc. Cole on the left is the more disciplined and will make defensive duties his priorty only getting forward when needed. Defensively when our opponents have the ball both fullbacks should sit tight on the opposing wingers and as soon as they receive the ball look to stop them from posing a threat. They should look to force them wide and lead them down the line then look to marshal them off the ball looking to use their pace and strength to put them off their game whilst our DM’s double up.

Vidic starts in the centre of defence and today will mark their (most) forward most likely to be Tevez. Tevez relies on service so we want to restrict that as much as possible, I want a dominant approach from Vidic looking to engage in physical battles using his intimidating and powerful nature to get right on top of him and bully him therefore taking him out the game. Vidic must get their striker as frustrated as possible looking to also isolate him and giving him nothing to work with so he’s as little threat as possible. Koscielny will start besides Vidic. He adds a calm presence in defence and complements Vidic’s style. I want him to do all the necessities plain and simple. He’ll look to watch for runners from deep, look to mark closely in the box whilst closing down rapidly. In addition looking to clear anything that comes into our box and importantly staying strong in the challenge.

Our midfield duo of Busquets and Javi Garcia will start in the centre of the park looking to make our rearguard as tough as possible to breach. Busquets will look to throw himself about everywhere; I want him to get from A to B as quick as possible looking to recover possession and forcing them to release quickly through anticipating, pressurising and reading the game, Garcia partners him and will look to focus more on the physical aspect of the game through roughing up the opposition and looking to stamp his mark on the game, I also want him man marking their AM ensuring he as no time or space on the ball to dictate proceedings.
Yaya makes his debut and will start in a free role where he is is best utilized, I want him making his typical surging runs forward today looking to break down the opposition and creating holes in their backline for others to exploit. I also want him to intimidate the opposition and make them as uncomfortable as possible whilst helping our DM's out defensively when required ensuring we win the midfield battle today and get as much service into our forwards as possible.

Ronaldo and Silva will start in a 4-3-3 down the flanks. Ronaldo starts on the left and he is the one who will look to penetrate their defence and create the openings today. I want us to get the ball out to him as much as possible so he can link with Cole and use his direct and skilful style to pull their defenders of position and shift the focus as much as possible. This should give the likes of RVP, Silva and Yaya more time on the ball to play their game. Ronaldo should also look to target the likes of Pepe/Luis and their backline who will struggle to cope with his pace so he'll invite challenges and look for FK's in dangerous positions. Silva on the right has the license to roam, I want him drifting in and out of positions looking to receive the ball and driving at their defence looking to take players out the game. He also has a good eye for a pass and a creative nature so I want him spotting our forwards runs and playing them in behind.

Van Persie is a man in form and with an attack like ours supplying him there should be plenty of chances to convert. I want him to use his experience and know how to get the better of their CB’s looking to get that extra yard on them whilst drawing them to him so others such as Ronaldo get the time and space to work with in dangerous positions. RVP should always look to make runs in behind and hold his own when possible holding the ball up and getting others involved whilst occasionnaly coming deeper to dictate the player whilst they go on beyond. The front 3 will all look to interchange making them as tough as possible to mark, we will look to target their weaknesses and find those roles where we are effectively getting maximum success.

Corners: Hazard (from left, inswing) Walcott (From right, outswing)

Look to attack in free form with the three behind the striker able to move where they like in order to open things up and and drag players out of position opening up spaces in defence and working off Soldado.

Game Plan: We look to make full use of our squad ahead of the big game 2nd leg against Hull in midweek. I want my team to attack effieciently. Through the centre, Milner and Oscar will use their drive, stamina, dribbling abilities to put momentum into our attack. They will also pass the ball intelligently, using their both long range passing and short passing. Look for the threat of Walcott on the RW, especially if Villa play a high line. Hazard will look to be a mix bag. He will take on his winger, but has the licence to drift in also, interchanging positions with Oscar, and allowing the overlap for Kolarov. I feel we have enough attacking threat today to win the game. Higuain will do what he is best at, attack the channels and create space for others such as Hazard Walcott and Oscar taking up the space left behind in. He will use his excellent crossing ability also. We will attack freely with the three behind the striker able to move where they like in order to open things up and drag players out of position opening up spaces in defence.

Szczesny will use his height to collect crosses, allowing our defence to keep in shape, if we have a chance to counter from there Szczesny uses his quick distribution to the wingers. He must command his area. Come for crosses when he is at least 80% sure he can get them. He will pass the ball out unless he is 80% sure we will not lose the ball when kicking it long as we want to keep possession as much as possible in this game.

Zabaleta & Kolarov must not give the Opposition wingers any time on the ball. If the opportunity presents then they should attack. If one of the full back attacks then the other one MUST stay back so we have 3 defenders back at all times along with Mikel.

Boateng and Marquinhos, A good mix of power, pace, aerial ability and composure on the ball, allows us to be commanding at the back and limit the amount of opportunities for the opposition. Boateng will control the back four and make sure everybody is doing their job correctly by using his excellent leadership skills. Boateng and Marquinhos will stay close to each other not allowing VILLA to open up space. Marquinhos looks to defend the first ball coming towards our defence, using his Villa of the game to get there before the striker and clear, he'll use his great tackling to shut him down around the area and then look to get the ball back. Boateng stays in position when Marquinhos does this covering the remaining space, he will be able to clear the second ball if it gets beyond Marquinhos.

Mikel sits in front of the defence and try and break down attacks and start new ones for us. He will be strong in their tackles and always play it simple when on the ball. Milner will be his partner who will play close to him when defending. He has the responsibility in helping out the full backs also.

Oscar will be our advanced playmaker. He has the ability to pick out the cutest of passes, which is just what we need with players like Higuain, Hazard, Walcott in the team. He has to manipulate the play and find these players in free space. Oscar is also there to support Higuain. When needed he will drop into midfield and make it tight.

Walcott and Hazard will be the wingers, and both should provide us natural width I want them to put the opposition full backs under pressure. They will play in an attacking role. They must keep the ball if there is no support and wait for players to arrive. They may also go for long range shots as both are good at them. This will also make the opposition full backs not attack making our job in defence easier. Furthermore they both have the ability to do that and are very good at it. Hazard is instructed to come on his right foot sometimes and take a ‘shock’ shot, catching the keeper out. Look for Higuain’s runs also.

Higuain will play in an ‘advanced forward’ role. By this it means they will make dangerous runs in behind, and hold the ball up as well as various other things. They must be patient and wait for chances and when they do come they must finish them. A lot of movement is required from them also; keep the opposition defenders on their toes! He will attack the channels also and use his excellent crossing ability, especially the drilled cross.

If winning – Ryan Giggs on for Theo Walcott 70’75’80’ – Milner goes RW with Giggs CM to help keep possession. Milner also provides defensive cover. Juan for Hazard and Llorente for Higuain 80’. Juan plays as a 5th defender but infront of the defence. Giggs goes out to LM and provides defensive cover to help see this game out.

If drawing – Change in system – Milner LW, Hazard AM 65’
Mikel off for Llorente 75’/80’/85’ – Two up top, Walcott and Hazard wingers, Mikel and Milner CM

If losing 65/70/75/80/85 mins – Mikel off for Di Natale – 4-4-2
80mins – Marquinhos off for Gignac – 3-4-3

If Keeper gets sent off then AM comes off for keeper on bench
In this case: Milner > Al Habsi 4-2-2-2

If Defender gets sent off then AM comes off for Defender on bench
In this case: Milner > Boateng. 4-2-2-2

If RB gets sent off, the Johnson goes RB, Johnson LB

If DM gets sent off (Mikel/Mikel) then AM for DM on bench
In this case: 2 remaining CM’s go more defensive

If st gets sent off, the AM for St on bench
In this case: Milner > Llorente

Big game, we stick to the formation we know playing a balanced 4-2-3-1 and we feel we have a great chance of getting something against Arsenal. Built on a strong defence we want to dominate from the back. Comfortable on the ball we will play more direct today though. Huge game for us.

We will start with a very high tempo, it’s important to get a hold of the game early and rustle Arsenal’s feathers. We will look to close down high up the pitch for the first 20 mins, after that as soon as they get in our half high pressure then.
We want to play quick, direct football with plenty of width. and get our midfield trio in and behind the Arsenal defence. Wingers have a huge role today.
In defence we will look to get 10 men in our own half behind the ball and then to break quickly. Tevez always remains up top give us the outball.
We have an abundance of pace in our attacking midfield trio, players that like to get on the ball and take players on. This will be crucial in ensuring we aren’t pegged back in defence by a strong Arsenal side.

We will play with plenty of width, Lucas and Young will stretch the game to create space for Reus and Gerrard in the middle. Gerrard playing in a deeper midfield role today.
Our front three have freedom to swap positions with each other. Draw their defenders out of position creating space for our other front players to get in. Tevez can even drop back to CAM swapping with whoever is there at times.
Sandro has a purely defensive role in midfield, he will make it difficult for the opposition attacking mids playing in front of the defence breaking their play, and then keeping things simple in possession.

Player roles.
Buffon – Experience and quality in goals as always, organising the defence we are confident our backline will be well directed and organised. He will give confidence to the backline.

Filipe and Rafael – Have the ability to get up and down the park all day long. When one is bombing forward the other will still have license to push forward but stay reserved till the right moment. Plenty of pace to deal with their wingers.

Pepe and Evans. Pepe has the pace, aggression and ability on the ball. Evans will be strong in the air and look to be the one to challenge first off. Get the ball down and build from the back.

Sandro – Our defensive midfielder, keep things simple. Don’t allow any of their players to get between our midfield and defence. Put himself about and dominate the midfield.
Gerrard – Playing the cm role. Will offer composure and leadership in the middle of park.

Reus – Just give him the ball! Offers pace and creativity through the middle, and play his natural game.
Lucas.M – A big chance. Impressed massively in the Champions League, get back and carry the ball forward with pace as he does. Pace and trickery going forward get a couple more assists!

A.Young – Offer width down the left side, playing the through balls for our other attackers. Plenty of pace and energy, in defence as well as attack. Again important to get back.

Tevez – The main man. Go wild attacking, get inovled to create as well!

Subs.
If red card play 4-4-1, with sub coming on to make that formation possible.

If losing or drawing after 70 mins bring on Eto’o for Lucas.M.
If losing after 75 mins bring on Coutinho for Young.

If winning or drawing after 70 mins bring on Abate for Lucas.M. Fresh legs and pace down the right and extra cover for Rafael.
If winning after 80 mins bring on Eto’o for Tevez.

---------------------Neuer--------------------
Lahm-----Kompany-----Subotic-----Baines
-------------Khedira-----A.Vidal-------------
J.Navas------------Cesc-------------Neymar
------------------C.Benteke------------------

Forster, Rhijn, Bender, Hamsik, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Ramirez

Neuer is a top keeper, great shot stopper and instills confidence in the back 4. Always shouting and keeping them right. Off his line quickly to shut down strikers to reduce their angles. Quick kicks/throws to release forwards or if need to hold on and wait till everyone getting back.

Lahm and Baines are quite attack minded, but as I always stress only one attacks at a time, supporting the wingers by either going outside to make an extra man to take the fullback away to make more room for the winger, or cut inside making an extra man in the middle, both have useful shots so are not afraid to have a go. Defending then they must keep the wingers quiet, dont dive in and keep them to the outside, the RW likes to cut in so Lahm must be aware of this and make sure he is kept quiet. Baines also on the other side, keep the winger to the outside and away from the danger area. Nothing silly, clear the lines..Kompany this time is given the man marking role, keep the CF quiet and that is a massive goal threat out of the game, match his runs and always keep an eye on him even if we are attacking, so if they get a quick break Kompany is there to stop him, stop him early and dont allow him the time or space to get his shot away. Kompany up for corners so Subotic keeps an eye on CF when he is up field. Subotic sits as a spare defender, he watches any other danger coming through or if the CF breaks free he is their to stop him. Clear all danger early, up for headers and power away, no messing at the back today!

Khedira is the defensive midfielder, he sits just in front of the two Centre Backs, allowing more freedom to Fabregas and Vidal, he watches there most attack minded central midfielder, so Khedira must get onto him before he starts horsing through the middle and into dangerous positions.
Be onto him early and do not allow him to dictate play and spray the passes about.
Vidal is the more defensive minded of him and Cesc so he will be up and down supporting defence and attack, he runs all day getting right into there faces, when they have he will sit alongside Khedira stopping there danger men coming through, he always gets into the face of his opposite number, attacking he will pick the ball up and move it forward, either out wide or through the middle, he will always follow his pass making himself available to others so they can move into space for him to pick out, a fantastic shot so will have a pop from range if the opportunity arises. Cesc is more attack minded and will support Benteke as much as he can, with Khedira and Vidal controlling the middle Cesc will be given the freedom to roam, when attacking he will get himself about and into positions of danger to them, will always look for the ball and pass and move at all times, get it out wide or again through to Benteke and move up, even get ahead of Benteke looking for lay offs or knock downs and look to get in on goal. Will drop deep when they have and keep an eye on the DM or CBs moving forward and look to stop them from becoming a danger.

Navas and Neymar provide the width today, Navas is quick and skillful and will run at his marker looking to get his way into the box, will use Cesc, Vidal, Aguero etc to pass and move into the box, when Lahm is supporting he will watch him drive pass and decide wether to play the ball down he line or wait for his marker to go with Lahm allowing him more room to cut inside. Neymar very dangerous and a goal threat, he will go out, enjoy himself, dont do it all by himself and always look to bring others into the game if he is heavily marked. Pass and move or like Navas get to the bye line and cross the ball into dangerous areas..Both will watch their fullbacks when they have and track there runs, not the best markers but as long as they stand in front and chase them down then that will do and stop them coming too far forward.

Benteke is a huge goal threat, the front 3 today will always be moving about causing confusion in the Brum back line as they will move about, drifting inside and outside, there markers will be moved about and torn to pieces, he is a powerful man and they will struggle to keep him quietby doing this, he will drag centre halfs and fullbacks all about the box so will make room for Cesc and Vidal to run into, even Lahm and Baines could find room to have a shot at goal, quick movement and always on his toes, Benteke will find himself getting plenty chances so he must take them, good with both feet and can shoot from acute angles..If he cant then set up those around him as he is a powerful man and not easily shrugged off the ball for a smaller player, defenders will find it hard to keep control of him.

Quick, dynamic passing from the team, one-twos to get round there markers, neat triangles, get to the bye-line and cross in, pressurise them into silly passes and maintain this for the entire match, we want to go through...

Norwich City

Formation: 3-1-5-1 changing to a 4-2-3-1 if required

--------------------------Akinfeev
---Alderweireld------Nuytinck------Lombaerts
-------------------------Granqvist
--------------Biglia------------------van Ginkel
Morata------------------Praet---------------------Jesé
--------------------------Saviola

Subs: Padt, van der Hoorn, Viergever, de Bock, de Leeuw, Chadli, Finnbogason

Corners: Right - Biglia & Left – Jesé (Chadli)
Free Kicks: Short Range = Biglia & Long Range = Alderweireld

From kick off we’ll have a ‘pressing’ 3-1-5-1 formation with the aim of playing a nice passing game and using our obvious pace to get the opposition on the back foot.

Akinfeev is a keeper of vast experiance. He is remarkably composed, commands his area well, and distributes the ball in a very intelligent manner.

The trio of Alderweireld, Nuytinck and Lombaerts are composed international class defenders who will look to play a low risk, sensible defensive game. Their defending style is tough on the man, in the air, but also gifted technically. All three are tall defenders which makes them good in the air. They are strong too, and combined with this height, it makes them very difficult to beat defenders, both in the air and on the ground.

In front of this defensive trio, Granqvist will play as the defensive midfielder who is also comfortable at slipping into the back 4 if required (4-2-3-1 formation can come into effect)
----------------------------------Akinfeev
Alderweireld-------Granqvist-------Nuytinck-------Lombaerts
-------------------------Biglia----------van Ginkel
--------Morata-----------------Praet-------------------Jesé
---------------------------------Saviola

We’ll use this change of formation if there are periods of the match when we are required to defend from wide attacking phases by our opponents. A good back up formation to have, but let’s concentrate more on the main formation.

Granqvist is a great tackler, has a big engine and is also a great passer of the ball. He will keep the ball moving with neat tidy passing, whilst not doing anything too extravagant and fancy, and he is more than capable of getting stuck in the nitty gritty of things.

In front of Granqvist we have Biglia and van Ginkel who are two superb passing footballers. They will look to play a quick passing style of play, playing beautifully timed balls for Morata on the right, Jesé on the left and Praet down the centre to run onto.

When we are on the back foot so to speak Biglia and van Ginkel will drop much deeper and so on. We aim to use this flexibility to tinker with the formation according to how the game pans out.

van Ginkel is our real creative midfielder here, and will look to dictate play. Expect him to cause plenty of problems as he looks to lurk within those dangerous channels.

Both Biglia and van Ginkel’s main qualities as players are their passing abilities. It does not matter if they play a short pass or a long pass as they are just as comfortable in doing bot. Biglia and van Ginkel are true midfield maestros who take responsibilities in defence and in the offensive side of play. They are both able to take advantage of their passing skills due to their calmness and great vision. They are both clever in the sense that they will always seem to make the right decision. If their first option is covered by for instance an opposition’s defender, they will not hesitate in simply turning around and go for option 2 or option 3.

You’ll see lots of beautifully timed little triangles between Biglia/Morata/Praet, and van Ginkel/Praet/Jesé as we look to unlock the opposition and take complete control of the match, putting our opposition under constant pressure on and off the ball - making the opposition work hard without any real gains. The ability on and off the ball of these 5 players should not be understated. We only select players who can orchestrate technically challenging play and make it look simple.

Praet really fits as the key orchestrator in the attacking midfield position, his ability to surge through the midfield area with the ball into threatening positions in and around the box, added to his undoubted ball skills will look to threaten the very heart of our opponants defensive players, whilst constantly aware of his teammates positioning. An unselfish player who whilst will look to create scoring opportunities for himself, will be looking for simple 1-2s to use to devastating effect.

With Morata, Praet and Jesé having very little defensive worries in this match, although of course they will look to create these partnerships with Biglia and van Ginkel, they can focus on expressing themselves and they are purely here to batter opponents with relentless waves of tidy, pacy and creative attacking play. Real emphasis on the creative here, I’ll be looking for these players to express themselves, they have ability and there is nothing to hold them back from taking these opportunities to show off that ability to the league. All three are extremely talented individuals with fantastic pace and skills. The ability to go past a player, take on defence and to play the sort of tricks that will wrong foot the opposition. They are as equally at home at making assists for Saviola and each other as they are at creating chances for themselves.

All 3 have tremendous engines and the intentions are to batter the opposition back line until they have no option but to submit to this constant attacking threat from the right, left and straight down the middle.

Saviola is everything you would want in a centre forward. Quick of mind and fleet of feet, and the natural predator of a real goal scorer. He’s outstanding in the air so he’ll be a happy recipient to any crosses into the box. But let’s get real, a lot of our football will be played on the deck, because we’ll be playing such a high tempo form of football looking for all of our offensive players to express themselves, it is thus more important that our players are technically gifted. This sums up Saviola, and he’s also happy to help orchestrate attacking play and at times we will allow Praet to be the most forward of our players, to create perfect opportunities for each other and of course Morata, Jesé who will look to be interacting with Praet, Saviola and of course the creative deeper players such as Biglia and van Ginkel.

Subs: 75 minute: Chadli on for Jesé, Finnbogason on for Saviola

-------------------------------Smithies-------------------------
--------Uchida-----Coloccini-----Amorebieta--Balzaretti--
-------------------------------Nordtveit------------------------
-------------------------Elm-------Nainnggolan--------------
-------------Herrmann----------------------------Ayew------
-------------------------------Kiessling------------------------

We are playing an attacking brand of on the floor football today as we seek to tire out our opposistion by knocking it around past them forcing them to chase. We have name a strong line up which is enough to see off their threat and will get the job done.

Smithies is a strong shot-stopping goalkeeper who has the confidence to claim anything into the box and organise our defence. He will knock it out wide in distributing fast to launch us on the counter attack.

Our defence is going to push up to try and squeeze the opposition and nullify any space that they have to play in and thus give us a good platform on which to build our own attacks. The Full backs have the licence to get past their wingers, alternately also. They will be marshalled by the experienced Collocini whilst Amorebieta will pick up the main striker.

Nainnggolan and Elm are a dynamic duo in the central in midfield, possessing plenty of energy to bounce about all over the pitch and close down the opposstion. Elm is the more creative of the two and thus will be our dictating force from the centre of the pitch by making runs from deep and threatening the opposistion with passing to find our attacking players whilst Nainnggolan is the box to box midfielder who will offer much in defence and attack. Nordtveit is the Anchor Man who will break up the opposistion play and drop to CB if needed.

Herrmann is an atypical winger who will run hard and fast at his LB, seeking to beat him with his pace and skill before whipping into the box, whilst Ayew will do the same from the other wing.

Kiessling is in good form, and he is playing up front to bully the opposistion. He will lead the line and be the spearhead of our attacks with all balls directed towards him and with his finishing prowess he will be able to put the ball into the net.

If drawing/losing after 70 mins: Diego > Nainnggolan

Portsmouth vs Utd:

------------------------------Ron-Robert Zieler-----------------------------
---Daniel Carvajal---Howedes------Bonucci-----Luke Shaw
----------------Javi Martinez---------Jaou Moutinho------------
------Mario Gotze----------Toni Kroos--------James Rodriguez
---------------------------------Mauro Icardi

Subs: Timo Horn, Fernandinho, Ginter, Rode, Danilo, Draxler, Mangala

Game Plan: We will look to attack our opponents on the counter, using a slick, pass and move game. We believe we have the abilities in defence to pass the ball out and start counter attacks, as Howedes is dynamic and will carry the ball forward, and alongisde him, Bonucci is so good with his feet, he has been deployed at CM by Rafa. Daniel Carvajal and Criscito can also pick out a pass down the wings, and they should look to make supporting runs on the outside of our wingers. In midfield, Javi Martinez will defend our backline, and he is one of those DM's that will never give up, and always hassle and harry the opposition. He is also a very good passer, and he will look to spread play out to the wings, and break up play, before keeping the ball alongside Jaou Moutinho. Jaou Moutinho is best known for his dynamic runs, brilliant passing, and fantastic vision, so he will play in the dictator role, before turning into a kind of flair player when needed. Ahead of him, Mario Gotze and James Rodriguez have got to be one of the most dangerous front line ever, packed with potential, and all of them world class on their day. Jaou Moutinho will control the game from CM, and will be in support of Mauro Icardi and Mario Gotze at all times. He will look to pick the ball up from midway, and direct those power shots into the corners. He will also look to use his top vision to find ways to release Mario Gotze and James Rodriguez. Mario Gotze's job will be to run at the LB, take him on, and whip in low balls for Mauro Icardi and James, who are both guaranteed to finish them off. Julian James will be on the other end, and use his dazzling dribbling ability, and superb acceleration to turn away from fullbacks, and clip in high balls for Mauro Icardi to throw himself at. Mauro Icardi will be the one who will finish off every move, and he is top scorer in the League for a reason. His fantastic positioning and his marauding runs in the box will confuse opposition, and Mauro Icardi will then attempt to finish off every ball which comes into the box. Mauro Icardi will be winning everything in the air, and finishing with an aplomb.

Javi Martinez and Jaou Moutinho will be the central midfield pairing. Jaou Moutinho will operate as the dictator in midfield. He has power, pace and is a real handful and this coupled with the calmness and control of Javi Martinez and the physicality and style of Jaou Moutinho will mean our midfield will see a lot of the ball.

Attacking Midfield

Toni Kroos will be playing the AM role today. His job is crucial to the team, as they will sit just in front of the DM, and will look to get the ball up to Mauro Icardi. Toni Kroos will create that extra magic that is needed to unlock defences, whilst Jaou Moutinho will sit back, just behind him, ready to help out.

Mario Gotze and James will play on the right and left wing. These are 2 wingers with bags of pace. They will be expected to supply things for Mauro Icardi, and their pace will cause a lot of problems. They will be expected to attack the opponents back four and supported by their full backs get past their man and get the ball in for Mauro Icardi. This is an area we will look to exploit with our pacy wingers and powerful marauding full backs. We will look to stretch their defence out of shape and with fast and direct running I can see a lot of space opening up for the very quick and cunning Mauro Icardi . With James and Mario Gotze both able to take on a man and hug the touchline we will look to exploit this area. Their 2 centre halves will not be able to match Mauro Icardi for speed so hopefully with the wingers stretching their full backs it will create a situation where one of their 2 centre halves will need to decide if he is going to go with Mauro Icardi or Mario Gotze which should open up more than enough space for one of these 3 to create a chance on goal.

Striker

Up front Mauro Icardi will spearhead the attack. I am putting my faith in him after his brilliant displays this season, in the hope he will get us a goal againsty a very weak defence. He has pace, and movement ability is top notch. There will be no shortage of chances created for him and I would expect it to be a hard day at the office for the opposition’s central defenders with Mauro Icardi equally as good in the air as with the ball at his feet. Mauro Icardi will be too much for Opposition's CB's, and will make deadly angled runs to get into a scoring position.

In defence Jaou Moutinho will sit deeper along with Javi Martinez, and will be expected to be his energetic self and press the opposition midfield and knock them out of their rhythm. With fast and fluid attacking play Mauro Icardi and Mario Gotze will always have support in this area and our wide men will always have a target to get the ball in to. With the trickery of Mario Gotze, Mario Gotze and James then the opposition can always expect the unexpected.

Subs:

60mins: Draxler > James, Offers real drive, and someone who can drift inside and really connect with the AM and winger

60mins: Fellaini > Moutinho, Offers much better energy and physical ability, Fellaini must look to pass the ball around, and him and Martinez in midfield is a midfield that would be very hard to get the ball off

75mins: Danilo > Carvajal, offers better attacking play from RB, and Danilo has a great cross on him, must link up well with Gotze, and aim for Icardi and the likes from his inswingers

SEMI FINAL TACTICS SECOND LEG VS HULL CITY
========================================

---------------------Szczesny

----------------Mikel-----De Jong
Walcott-------------Oscar------------Hazard-
-----------------------Higuain

Subs:
Ali Szczesny
Glen Johnson
Juan Jesus
James Milner
Mathieu Valbuena
Andre Pierre Gignac
Fernando LLorente

Captain: Pablo Zabaleta
Free Kicks: Eden Hazard
Penalties: Eden Hazard
Corners: Hazard (from left, inswing) Walcott (From right, outswing)

Game Plan: A big opportunity for us to get through to a huge cup final and we have the advantage since we are at home and have two away goals to defend. I want my team to attack effieciently. We set up to be broken down in CM with De Jong and Mikel in there. Through the centre, Oscar will his his drive, stamina, dribbling abilities to put momentum into our attack. He will also pass the ball intelligently, using their both long range passing and short passing. Look for the threat of Walcott on the RW, especially if Hull play a high line.

Godin and Boateng, A good mix of power, pace, aerial ability and composure on the ball, allows us to be commanding at the back and limit the amount of opportunities for the opposition. Godin will control the back four and make sure everybody is doing their job correctly by using his excellent leadership skills. Godin and Boatengwill stay close to each other not allowing HULL to open up space. Boatenglooks to defend the first ball coming towards our defence, using his Hull of the game to get there before the striker and clear, he'll use his great tackling to shut him down around the area and then look to get the ball back. Godin stays in position when Boatengdoes this covering the remaining space, he will be able to clear the second ball if it gets beyond Boateng.

Mikel sits in front of the defence and try and break down attacks and start new ones for us. He will be strong in their tackles and always play it simple when on the ball. De Jong will be his partner who will play close to him when defending.

If winning –Milner on for Theo Walcott 70’75’80’ – Milner goes RW.
80’ Juan for Oscar and Llorente for Higuain 80’. Juan plays as a 5th defender but infront of the defence.

If drawing – Change in system –
If conceded more than 2 goals - Mikel off for Llorente 75’/80’/85’ – Two up top, Walcott and Hazard wingers, Oscar and De Jong CM

If losing 65/70/75/80/85 mins – Mikel off for Llorente – 4-4-2
80mins – Boateng off for Di Natale – 3-4-3
80mins: De Jong off for Milner

If Keeper gets sent off then AM comes off for keeper on bench
In this case: De Jong > Al Habsi 4-2-2-2

If Defender gets sent off then AM comes off for Defender on bench
In this case: De Jong > Jian. 4-2-2-2

If RB gets sent off, the Johnson goes RB, Johnson LB

If DM gets sent off (Mikel/De Jong) then AM for DM on bench
In this case: 2 remaining CM’s go more defensive

If st gets sent off, the AM for St on bench
In this case: De Jong > Llorente

------------ Buffon
Rafael – Pepe – Evans – Filipe
------- Sandro – Gerrard
Lucas.M ---- Ox --------- Reus
------------- Tevez

Subs. Cesar, Abate, Albiol, Lucas, Verratti, Coutinho, Eto’o

BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON SO FAR.

Must win game. We are looking for some Stevie G inspired bounceback ability after narrowly losing to Arsenal.

We are full of confidence, aside from our ability and tactics we have all the right ingredients to get the win: greater experience, greater leadership, more British grit and more Buffon. The key points to our game today will be out wide. We want to stretch the game, playing with plenty of width, getting the ball wide to our attacking fbs and wingers. Positionally: Rigid in defence. Fluid in attack.

Tevez, Reus and Gerrard will be the key men we want to have big performances today, they are the guys capable of changing this game for us going forward. In defence all players need to be on their game to keep a clean sheet.

Buffon will be our leader from the back. Ensuring the back 4 are where they should be. We want one of our full backs to be bombing forward at a time. The other stays back, but alert and ready to join the attack if possible. Always having at least one more defender than they have attacker plus Sandro not far in front of the defence.

Sandro has a very defensive role in midfield, he will be our tower of power and strength breaking up their play and keeping things simple in possession. Sandro needs to ensure there is no space for a player to get in between the midfield and defence when Pompey are in possession. Gerrard at cm, is playing a deeper role today and we will be more defensive than usual. Will be our link between defence and attack. He brings composure and leadership to the middle of the park, and it’s important he keeps the young attacking trio right. Plenty of long balls to get the more attacking players running and in behind the Pompey defence.

Lucas and Reus start from wide positions when we play out from the defence, but with freedom to come inside when the attack is building. Ox will be in an attacking midfield role, simply find space and get on the ball. His pace, energy and movement in the middle of the park will be a real advantage in this game on and off the ball, not giving their deep midfielders time on the ball. The attacking midfield trio have freedom to switch positions with each other, mix things up as long as they take care of their defensive responsibilities.

Tevez will play his own game up top. Naturally likes to come deep and get involved in the play, and with the pace of our attacking trio this will work well in bringing their defenders out of position or if not allowing us to run at them.

When defending we will look to get 10 players behind the ball, and break quickly. Tevez always staying up top when we are defending unless one of our other attacking players aren’t able to get back.
We have the right mix of pace and strength in the side, and with the technical ability of the attacking players we are confident of getting the 3 points.

Free kicks: Gerrard(deep), Tevez(around the box)
Pens: Gerrard
Captain: Gerrard
Corners: Gerrard. And try this at least once:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37GV1xT1maI

Buffon – Experience and quality in goals as always, organising the defence we are confident our backline will be well directed and organised. He will give confidence to the backline.

Filipe and Rafael – Have the ability to get up and down the park all day long. When one is bombing forward the other will stay back and reserved. Plenty of pace to deal with their wingers.
Pepe and Evans. Evans will be strong in the air and look to be the one to challenge first off. Pepe has the pace to cover and catch any of their players. Get the ball down and build from the back when we can, but if not play it long, not a game to take chances. Pepe gets forward for set pieces.

Sandro: Be the bully in the middle of the park. Has the power to run the midfield with Gerrard. Will also be a handful at set pieces.
Gerrard: Captain at cm. Playing from a deeper position that he’s done well in, will have plenty of movement in front of him so he will thrive.

Lucas.M – Him and Rafael down the right should tear their lb a new one.
Ox – Pace, energy and movement will be a real asset for us in this game. Get on the ball and show what he can do!
Reus – Just give him the ball.

Tevez – Just give him the ball.

Subs. If winning after 75 mins bring on Verratti for Ox. More composure and creativity for when space opens up.
If drawing or winning after 75 mins bring on Abate for Lucas.M. Fresh legs and great pace for when the game opens up.
If losing after 65 mins bring on Eto’o for Lucas.M. Ox plays rm, Eto’o plays up top with Tevez in a 4-4-2.
If losing after 75 mins bring on Coutinho for Ox. More attacking again.
If winning after 85 mins bring on Eto’o for Tevez. Pace and someone to run with the ball to wind clock down, and more likely break through their defence and score!!
If a red card, sub if need be to play a 4-4-1.

---------------------------Cech
Johnson---Hummels---Agger---Clichy

Set Pieces
Corners - Modric and Schweiny take in swinging corners, the 2 CB's go into the box, Clichy and Inler stay back to prevent counters, the CB's and Gomez attack the ball, Johnson looks to disrupt the keeper, the non taking CM and the Wingers take positions just outside the box to pick up any weak defensive headers or knockdowns.

Free Kicks - For direct FK's Schweiny and Modric will shoot depending on which foot it favours. For Indirect FKs, follow the same directives for Corners

Penalties - Schweiny is the designated taker.
