Rafael – Pepe – Albiol – Filipe
------- Sandro – Gerrard

-------------- Dzeko

Subs. Cesar, Kelly, Pirlo, Ox, Grenier, Arnautovic, Eto’o

Groundhog day, lining up to play Everton for the second weekend in a row, the players ain’t happy about the loss last week and are more than prepared.
The club have launched an investigation into the scandalous league management which saw us turn up at the wrong stadium last week which we believe was perpetrated by our Liverpool rivals. The players are focused on the game and even more fired up to go on a run of form! Attacking 4-2-3-1.

Form has been shocking recently. Changes have been made to the side. Things have to improve.
Must win game.

As usual we want to play with lots of width, stretch the game and get our full backs supporting our wingers.

We are looking to build on a strong defence, this is why we’ve opted for Gerrard ahead of Pirlo for this match, as we want to give our front four as much freedom as we can and really take the game to Everton.

In defence we will look to keep things simple, staying composed and passing our way out without anything fancy. Rigid in our positions. One full back forward at a time, the other reserved but ready to join attack if play switches to his side. Sandro very defensive, Gerrard has license to go forward.

When defending we will look to puss high pressure on Everton as soon as they enter our half. At least four of our midfielder 5 will get back, Dzeko staying up with one midfielder given freedom at a time when we don’t have possession.

We want to play quite a high line, not quite at the half way line but almost. We have the pace in defence to deal with their attackers. Push Everton back, and make it difficult for them to get out. And keep Drogba as far away from our goal as possible if he plays. We have a settled back four now.

In attack we will be far more fluid in our positioning. The front three have freedom to switch with each other, find space and drag their players out of position.

Aim to get the ball out wide, so that we can get crosses in for Dzeko and Hamsik who will look to be close on Dzeko’s heels offering constant support.

Player roles.

Buffon – Experience and quality in goals as always, organising the defence we are confident our backline will be well directed and organised. He will give confidence to the backline.

Filipe and Rafael – Have the ability to get up and down the park all day long. When one is bombing forward the other will stay back and reserved. Plenty of pace to deal with their wingers.
Pepe and Evans. Evans will be strong in the air and look to be the one to challenge first off. Pepe has the pace to cover and catch any of their players. Get the ball down and build from the back when we can, but if not play it long, not a game to take chances. Pepe gets forward for set pieces.
Sandro: Be the bully in the middle of the park. Has the power to run the midfield with Gerrard. Will also be a handful at set pieces.
Gerrard: Captain at cm. Playing from a deeper position that he’s done well in, will have plenty of movement in front of him so he will thrive.
Shaqiri – Show us your skills.
Hamsik – Allo allo.
Reus – Give him the ball.
Dzeko – Get in the box. Head it. Score!
Front four have freedom when we are in possession, find space, get the ball and let them play their natural game
Subs. If winning after 70 mins bring on Ox for Shaqiri.
If drawing or winning after 75 mins bring on Pirlo for Gerrard. More creativity for when the game opens up.
If losing after 65 mins bring on Eto’o for Shaqiri. Playing rw in attacking 4-3-3.
If losing after 75 mins bring on Pirlo for Sandro. Gerrard play dm. Very attacking team.
If winning after 80 mins bring on Eto’o for Dzeko. Pace and someone to run with the ball to wind clock down, and more likely break through their defence and score!!
If a red card, sub if need be to play a 4-4-1.

---------------------------Cech
Johnson---Hummels-----Agger---Schmelzer
------------------------Denisov
-------------Modric----------Dembele
Robben--------------------------------------Ribery
---------------------Aubameyang
Subs
Begovic, Juanfran, De Vrij, Denisov, Payet, Lennon, Osvaldo

Tactics
An attack-minded 4-3-3 formation with emphasis on keeping possession and playing with width to stretch the opposition.

Keeper
When distributing the ball, he should look to keep it simple and play the percentage pass. At crosses and set pieces, should look to punch rather than attempt any catches with an element of risk.

Full Backs
When going forward, the wingers will be playing a mostly wide game so should look to play behind the wingers, giving them an option to play it safely back if there is no forward option, and they should also look to provide width if the wingers cut inside. When defending, they should look to just track the wingers and aim to keep them on their wrong foot and block any crosses.

Centre Backs
Hummels will compete for the aerial balls, and Agger will look to collect the 2nd ball, when the ball is on the floor, the onus is more on blocks than tackles. When on the ball, if the opposition are giving them space to come out with the ball, then they can take it forward, if not, just look to play it simple to a man in space and keep possession.

Defensive Midfielder
Inler will look to just sit in front of the back 4, looking to cover the full backs when they go forward. and when we are defending, he will track the opposition AM, only leaving him if another Midfielder is making inroads into the final third with the ball.

Centre Mids
Both are comfortable on the ball, and both have engines to last the full 90 with a high energy game, when they are on the ball both midfielders are suited to looking for a pass, but can take the ball forward if the space is there, if either man is running with the ball, they are comfortable with shooting from outside the box, so should look to test the keeper quite often. When defending, they will look to use their workrate to press the opposition midfielders when they are on the ball.

Wingers
They should look to stay as wide as possible when they receive the ball to try and stretch the defensive line and create space for midfield runners and/or Auby. When on the ball, both wingers have the ability to stay wide and put a cross in, or cut inside to try and make space for a shot, so should look to pick out which is the best option at the time, if they do cut inside, the full backs should have moved forward to occupy the touchline and provide an out ball if there is no other option. If they have taken the opposition full back out of the game, they shouldnt be afraid to go into the box, as defenders will be extra cautious to not give away a penalty, and this provides the option of just drilling a cross to Auby or a simple drag back to the CM's, who should be taking positions on the edge of the box. When the opposite winger has the ball, the winger without the ball should look to find space between the CB and full back to add an extra body for any crosses or capitalise on any defensive errors.

Striker
When defending, he should look to keep tabs on the defensive midfielder to stop any easy balls being played back to him, when attacking, he should look to hang onto the the shoulder of the last defender, looking to break any offside traps and get into 1 on 1's with the keeper, when setting up counter attacks, he should be drifting over to the left slightly.

Set Pieces
Corners - Robben takes corners, the 2 CB's go into the box, Denisov and Schmelzer stay back to prevent counters, the CB's, Auby and Dembele attack the ball, Johnson, Modric and the Wingers take positions just outside the box to pick up any weak defensive headers or knockdowns.

Free Kicks - For direct FK's Modric and Ribery will shoot depending on which foot it favours. For Indirect FKs, follow the same directives for Corners

Penalties - Robben is the designated taker.

Subs

If Winning
68 mins - Denisov for Modric - Denisov goes to DM, Dembele in front of the 2, we shore the game up defensively, with Dembele looking to hustle the opposition midfielders.

76 mins - Payet and Juanfran for Ribery and Robben - shore up the game defensively and keep Auby up with his pace as a threat for a counter attack.

If Losing

71 mins - Payet and Osvaldo for Robben and Modric - Payet RW, Ossy up front, all out attack now, pile bodies forward and get the ball forward, the full backs are pushed forward and Cech acts as a sweeper-keeper.

Pompey vs Wigan 4-2-3-1:

------------------------Zieler
---Carvajal--Papadopoulos--Bonucci--Criscito
----------Nemanja Matic ------Marco Verratti
----Jesus Navas------Toni Kroos------Draxler
----------------------Lewandowski

Subs: Nastasic, James, Danilo, Felipe Anderson, Moutinho, Icardi, Rode

Formation: 4-2-3-1 (Changing into a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1)
Freekicks: Toni Kroos
Penalties: Lewandowski
Corners: Toni Kroos (Bonucci comes up)
Captain: Zieler

Game Plan: We are hosting a Wigan side who have been lingering near the bottom of the table, and we will aim to keep them there today. Hull have no one to make them tick in midfield so we must take advantage of this, and press them high up the pitch, forcing them into making mistakes. Their biggest weak point comes at CB in the form of Cirigliano, who is a great young DM, but will really struggle against Kroos, and this is a real let down in their defence. We will look at Kroos to take advantage of this, as Kroos is powerful, and is excellent at confusing oppositin, and with the added bonus the Cirigliano loves to foul players, we will look to win frekicks in this area, where we have several good set piece takers. Another point where Hull look weak is in GK, where Stek has been poor this season, so we will look to test him with some real cracking shots, and we have some of the best shooters in the league, with Kroos very capable of a net buster, Matic who offers a great drive too, Navas and Draxler who are brilliant finishers, and Lewandowski who can shoot from anywhere. We will give this Keeper a game he will want to forget, and look to get many shots as possible on target. Furthermore, Wigan lack a decent AM where we think (and hope ) who can be easily handled by Nemanja Matic/Verratti, whose an excellent defensive mid even if Matic i's better at attacking. Their striker, Damiao has had a season to forget, and has had a very poor goal return, so we will hope you will not be fooled to believing he can Score against two top defenders in Bonucci and Papadopoulos. We will look to target Their DM, Cirigliano, although he is a good DM, he cracks under physical pressure, and Matic will be giving a lot of that. Matc must team up with Kroos to pressurise Cirigliano in midfield, and this will be key in deciding the midfield battle. Matic must also help out the debutant Verratti who is very capable in defensive midfield, but tackling isn't his strongest point, so we will look at Matic to guide and cover for him through today. However, we cannot put in any silly challenges that will result in bookings or even freekicks.

Defence: We will start off in a 4-2-3-1 formation, relying on Carvajal and Criscito to do what they do best, and really attack the flanks, with Navas and Draxler playing as wingers, instructed to drift inside, allowing space for the FB's. Carvajal especially, must look to get those fantastic crosses into the penalty are, where Lewandowski can launch himself at the ball, or where Draxler will be lurking. On the other side, Criscito is as attack-minded, but is a terrific dribbler, so he must look to take on his man, and venture into the Wigan half as much as possible, and look to play short 1-2's with the likes of Matic and Kroos. Both of these Fullbacks must come back at all times, to prevent Wigan from hurting us on the counter. Alongside them, Papadopoulos and Bonucci are a strong a pairing as any. They are a real force to be reckoned with, and whilst Papa isn't fastest, he is extremely good in the air, and a brilliant leader at the back, and he must position himself well at every set piece, marking the attacker that likes to make difficult runs to the back post. Bonucci on the other hand, will tackle the tall men, or those good in the air, as Bonucci leave's no victims in that territory. He must also use his long legs as an asset to take the ball away from the toes of attackers, but must stay clean. Both of our CB's are strictly told to keep their hands out of their way, and to control their tackles, and not go lunging in on forwards giving away cheap freekicks. Bonucci is also a great passer of the ball, so must not be afraid to step into midfield, and caress the ball all he likes, as long as risky passes/back passes are prevented. Neither of our defenders must be afraid to clear the ball long when in danger, but generally, we will look to pass the ball out of defence.

Moving on from defence, we will be playing a lovely mix of midfielders in our central 3. On his first start, Marco Verratti will be the most defensive of the lot, pulling all the strings from defensive midfield. His excellent vision, and eye of the needle passes will help unlock Hull's defence, as we look to play in Navas and Draxler, whilst Nacas and Draxler must drop back to receive short passes, before passing it on again. As he is a natural DM, Marco Verratti must be wary of stepping forward without protection, as we can get out done on the counter, but he will be looking to always get the ball rolling, and sometimes clip those 40 yard passes over the top for Lewandowski, who is an expert in controlling, and holding the ball. Alongside him is our box-to-box midfield enforcer Nemanja Matic, who will start deep, but later go on to form an attacking triangle with Kroos when we are chasing a goal, in a 4-1-2-3

-----------Marco Verratti
----Toni Kroos---------Matc

If we are lacking creativity in AM. However, Matic must not neglect defensive duties, and his immense power and presence must combine with his pressing ability to always win the ball back when we lose it. Matic offers great drive from midfield, and his powerful shots are an added bonus to us. His passing is always accurate, and he must look to supply Navas and Draxler with sly passes and through balls, to try and find a way in behind Wigans defence. Ahead of him, Toni Kroos will be playing AM, but must also help out defensively, and when we are under pressure, we must revert to a 4-5-1

-------Nemanja Matic--Toni Kroos--Veratti
Jesus Navas-----------------------------Draer

As this will bring more stability to the midfield, and can contain Wigan's attacks down the centre of the pitch. However, Kroos' role is crucial to our team. He is the one that brings all the flair to the table and with superb passing skills and quick thinking ability, his main aim will be to slip in one of our forwards. If there comes a time when the ball breaks to him, he must use his silky feet to slip away from defenders and find space, and he must not forget that he will almost always have support in Matic. All midfielders should be able to cover our Fullback's runs, so if Crisicoto is caught out, we must rely on Maric to move into his position, and cover for him, and same with Verratti on the other side. This will ensure that we will always have our full backs cover

Up ahead, Navas and Draxler start as wingers, with strict instructions to revert to a 4-3-3 when we need more bodies attacking centrally. In this formation change, we will be relying more on Carvajal and Crisicito to cover the entire flank, as with Navas and Draxler playing inside forward roles, we don't want to lack width:

-------Matic--------Berratti
------------Toni Kroos
----Navas--------------Draxler

This will make us more threatening in the central areas, and give’s us natural width, if we need it via the full backs. It will also conjure up more space for the FB to thrive off, where they have more time to spot runs and passes, with our midfielders looking to cover them if they run out of position. However, if we need to attack Wiganl out wide, our 2 inside men will look to revert back to the starting wing roles in the 4-2-3-1 and must look to go back outside with Kroos stepping a notch, allowing our two wingers to confuse opposition defenders and create up a great understanding with the 3 CM’s. Navas has brilliant dribbling skills, and very quick feet, and he must look to turn away from oppressors when he has the chance, before using his brilliant vision to find a Portsmouth shirt. His brilliant versatility means we cover almost every position in the left-central area of the pitch, as Navas likes to come inside, but doesn’t mind going by the touchline and drifting inside like most inside forwards. He must also look to get some brilliant crosses onto the heads of Lewandowski, or the feet of Drax, but also should look to set up Kroos/Matic, who will no doubt be lurking just outside the box, for a volley or long shot. On the other side, Draxler is a brilliant finisher, and he loves to take on his man, whilst he’s always reliable when it comes to making runs off the last man. His rapid pace must see him chase the ball every time it breaks loose, whilst his lethal runs will always be a danger to Eigan. He is also a genius at winning penalties, and must look to trick his way into the box using a wide range of skills to frighten the defence. His brilliant link up play with Lewandowski will see the 2 combining well, as Draxler is fantastic at finding his man, whilst Lewandowski's passing is extremely good for a striker. If any chance falls toDraxler, he must take it, as his finishing is a brilliant asset, and he must always be a mirror to Navas, when it comes to formation, as soon as we revert to a 4-3-3, he and Navas must turn central, in the roles of an inside forward, cutting/drifting in only when our two fullbacks are ready to run into space. Likewise, when we implement a 4-2-3-1, they will both automatically hug the touchline, cutting in only when they have support.

NOTE: Deaxle and Navas will start off as wingers, but as soon as we do a formation switch, they will act as inside forwards, before reverting as we do

Up front, Lewandowski is the dream striker to play alongside in a 4-2-3-1 as not only does he drop back, but he attacks every ball in the box and is great at holding it up. Our 3 forwards must look to combine at every opportunity. Lewandowski must also look to to finish off every chance that falls his way, and he is brilliant in the air, so must outmuscle the defenders, when it comes to taking crosses of Carvajal and Navas. He will rely on his quick thinking, positioning, Technical ability and Finishing Prowess and look to crumble the Wiganl defence, with his brilliant knack of finding the back of the net

Subs:

On winning on 60mins: James > Draxler, offers more energy and buzz, and can cause real problems for Wigan as he is 2 footed and fits into all 3 systems

If drawing/winning at 60: Danilo > Carvaj, more attacking RB, really compliments Navas well on the other side, a great crosser too when he does get forward, and fantastic passer, so must look to whip those balls in for Lewandowski and Maric/Kroos

If losing/Drawing On 60mims: Moutinho > Matic, Moutinho is more deeper, and less defensive minded, so will offer more stability, as well as great vision and technique. However, he will play very deep, alongside the DM, and he must halt AM's in their tracks

If Losing/Drawing at 60: Fellaini > Verrtti, we move to a 4-1-4-1 attacking formation in an attempt to grab a goal:

----------------Moutinho
--Navas--Kroos-----Fellaini--Draxler

However, Moutinho must stay very deep indeed and act as an Alonso, as he can defend too

If losing/Drawing On 75mins: Mauro Icardi > Kroos, 4-1-3-2

----------------------Moutinho
---Jesus Navas-----Toni Kroos-------Draxler
--------------Lewandowski--Icardi

This has the perfect balance in attacking Midfield, and two strikers who complement each other brilliantly. Icardi is very good at flicking balls on with his head, and his finishing is extremely good, so must look to attack each ball that comes in the box and link up well with Lewandowski

---------------Courtois
Kalas--Schär---------Dante--Van Aanholt
---------------Marrone
-------Ramires------De Bruyne
Lamela-------Cavani---------Villa

Subs: Alves, Piszczek, Cahill, Asamoah, Mata, Piazon, Hernandez

Captain: Dante
Free Kicks: De Bruyne
Penalties: Cavani
Corners: De Bruyne

Game Plan: We start in a 4-3-3, looking to keep the ball moving at pace in midfield and use the width we have in the side to really get at the oppositions weak areas which we believe is FB. We get plenty of service into Cavani with runners off him to find spaces with quick passing football. Defensively we defend as a unit, getting men back behind the ball and making it difficult for the opposition to get in behind us, force them to play the game in front of us.

Tactics:
Courtois commands his area, coming and collecting all the crosses and relieving pressure on our defence. When he gets the ball he should look to distribute it quickly if there's a chance of a counter.

We want to double up against the opposition FBs so ours have a license to get forward as the attack builds down their flank. Kalas looks to give support to Lamela, he's good a good cross on him, he'll look to stay down the line and give that option to pass behind the FB for a cross. PVA has a lot more to his game going forward, he can make runs either side of Villa, looking to get down the line to put a cross in or inside where he can link play, we expect a lot of intricate link up play down our left with two talented footballers. PVA can also make runs into the box, getting in to a position for a shot or a pull back or at least dragging players out of position. Defensively Kalas is superb, he has bags of pace and will watch the opposition winger closely, forcing him right out to the flank where he can stop him getting decent crosses in and put tackles in, he can also read the play and get to the ball before it reaches the winger. He's got an excellent knack of getting across and covering for the CBs and we will look to him to provide that if Reading get away from our CBs, e should come across and tidy up. PVA uses his pace and strong tackling to get very tight to the winger and put a quick tackle in, forcing him back and keeping him away from the striker.

Dante will man mark the main striker, using his strength, pace and reading of the game to keep him very quiet. We want him constantly on the striker, giving him no time or space to link up or get on goal, put a lot of tackles in and dominate aerially, forcing him back into midfield to try and get involved in the game. Schär comes in to the team, he will look to deal with any spare men around our box, not giving them time or space to make things happen, getting tight to them and getting the danger clear. He will also use his extra pace to mop up if anything beats Dante, covering behind his team mate and being their to clear the second ball. Both are excellent on the ball, Dante can make things happen with his passing from deep out to the wingers or over the top, whilst Schär is brilliant at bringing the ball out of defence and into midfield where he can pick his pass at the right time, whilst he's also got a brilliant shot on him. We want to play a passing game and keep the ball at all times, we can go back to these CBs and trust them to keep the ball going.

Marrone starts as the DM, excellent on the ball with a great passing range he provides that option from deep to keep the ball moving whilst he's able to bring it forward and move into more attacking positions, as our midfield is versatile we will look for them to be swapping roles and moving around to cause Readings more rigid set up problems. When defending he remains the deepest of our midfielders, picking up the AM and not allowing him any space between the lines to operate. He also drops back into CB when Schär brings the ball forward. Ramires is the engine room of the midfield, using his power and pace to really press Reading whenever they have the ball, looking to win it back and then drive us forward, either playing a ball into the wide areas or using his pace and skill to run through the midfield, taking players out of the game and giving us more options to cut them open. He can also make his runs in behind the defence, looking to support the striker, playing one twos and finishing any chance that comes his way in typical clinical fashion. As said previously this midfield is versatile so Ramires can drop back and get on the ball to drive us forward, we also play neat passing triangles in the midfield to keep things moving at a high speed. De Bruyne is the playmaker of the three, he moves around to get on the ball in space, always looking to bring the ball forward and use his intelligent passing to cut Reading open. He can drop deeper to get things moving or he can even find spaces outwide to put a cross in. He should look to get close to the striker in support of him and link up.

We see the FBs as Readings weakness so Lamela and Villa will really look to attack them, doubling up with our Fbs and leaving them for dead. Lamela uses his excellent dribbling and pace to get at the LB time and time again, working the space and creating room for a pass or a cross. Stick to that wide position when not on the ball, ready to run at the Lb or cut inside getting into room through the middle to make things happen. Villa has more of a license to drift infield when not on the ball as PvA can cause the RB problems on his own, allowing Villa to get into pockets of space around the box and link things up to get himself and others on goal. He will start from a wide position at times too, getting the ball and using his strong running to beat his man, more often than not driving inside for a shot or a clever pass. Cavani is the focal point of the attack, he occupies the two CBs with his strength, movement and speed. Always looking to get into some space to receive the ball, holding the defenders off and linking up then making his run goalwards, his movement is excellent he can drift off to the flanks or deeper before starting his runs into the box where he finds space to finish chances. He can turn and run at the defence, driving through them and in on goal as well as making runs in behind to give players an option to open the defence up for.

Subs:

If Winning: Asamoah for Villa 70', more defensive option but with plenty of energy to attack, we'll move into a 4-2-3-1. Piazon and Hernandez for De Bruyne and Cavani 75', good game time to show what they can do and attack a tiring defence.

If Drawing: Mata for De Bruyne 70', Ramires drops slightly deeper to give Mata the room. Hernandez for Villa 75', continues a very similar role, using his movement to get into the box. Piazon for Van Aanholt 80', have one last push for a winner in a 3-2-3-2:

Courtois
Kalas Dante Schär
Marrone Ramires
Lamela Mata Piazon
Cavani Hernandez

If Losing: Hernandez and Mata for Marrone and PVA, 65' 3-2-3-2. Asamoah for De Bruyne 75' provide extra pace and drive in midfield:

Courtois
Kalas Dante Schär
Ramires Asamoah
Lamela Mata Villa
Cavani Hernandez

Reds:

Keeper/RB/CB:/LB Marrone comes off, Alves/Piszczek/Cahill/Asamoah come on. Ramires and De Bruyne CM in a 4-4-1, as they are excellent at pressing quickly and we maintain our attacking element out wide. Use normal changes in subs for the other two.

Marrone: change to a 4-4-1, in second half around 70/75', Asamoah replaces De Bruyne and Mata Villa as fresh legs.

Ramires/De Bruyne: Asamoah for Marrone.

Lamela/Villa: Mata comes on for Marrone

Cavani: Mata for Marrone, Villa through the middle. Hernandez for Villa 70' for fresh legs up top.

------------------Gustavo----Witsel-----------------
Menez-----------------Holtby-------------Lavezzi
------------------------Huntelaar--------------------

Subs; Amos, Caulker, Pjanic, Destro, Defour, Cisse

Game plan:
we need to win this to keep up with our European challenge. my team will be organised and will pressure them all over the pitch causing them to make a mistake, then we can hit them on the break with the pace in our team. The balance of the team looks good with the midfield 3, all of my team will be putting a shift in and give 100%. The team will look to play simple passes and will always start from the back, if the midfield run out of options they shouldn’t be afraid to start again from the back. The team will look to keep the ball on the floor as much as possible as we are not the tallest team and this may give the other team the advantage. We will look to play wider with the wide players keeping the options open for the team. When my team are crossing the ball drilled crosses will be preferred.
We will not be scared to soak up abit of pressure and then launch counter attacks at pace.
When it comes to the opposition we will look to close them down quickly and give them no time on the ball, always trying to make them rush their passes and cause mistakes. We will look to disrupt the tempo of the game and ideally we will want dictate the tempo ourselves. We will show their wide players onto their weaker foot and into the corner.

Lloris:
Lloris is a very good keeper and he will look to demand his area, he will collect/punch crosses and he will collect loose balls that come into the box. He will use a big voice if he wants the ball left by the defenders.

Debuchy and Ekotto:
(Attacking) – They will look to receive the ball from the keeper and start attacks from the back but I don’t want them to hoof the ball they will look to pass the ball out. When the team are attacking I would like both players to push up and provide an option for the wide men. I would also like them to overlap to also help the wide men and put in a decent crosses. Both players however will need to make sure if they commit to an attack that they can get back if the opposition launch a counter attack if they are not confident then I don’t want them to push up as much.
(Defending) When these players are defending I will ask them to talk to the wide men infront of them if they need cover or help. I will ask for these players to stick tight to the opposition wide men and to show them onto their weaker foot to weaken the cross and guide them into the corner and try to concede a throw in rather than a throw in. If a CB commits to an attack I would like these players to cover and holes in the defense that need to be covered.

Kaboul and Rami:
(Attacking) – Both of the defenders will look to collect the ball from the goalkeeper and they will look to start attacks by passing the ball into the midfield however if there is no opening in midfield they should look for the long ball (preferably out wide) or they should not be shy to keep it in the defense and encourage players to make openings for them. For corners both players should go up and one or both of the full backs will cover.
(Defending) – Kaboul will mark the main striker he will stick close to him and will use his power to beat the player in the air, he will show him onto his weaker foot and look to dispossess him without giving away any silly fouls.
Rami will take the second striker or he will provide cover for Kaboul and will clean up loose balls. If he is marking another striker I would also like him to make the player play on his weaker foot and show him away from goal.
Gustavo and Witsel
(Attacking) – Both of these players will be playing the deeper role in the team and they will both look to spread the play over the pitch when they are position however they will look to play it simply and not over complicate their passes and wont play still passes that will cost us possession.
Witsel will be the player to push up if we are struggling to create many chance where as Gustavo will not and will Stay back, Witsel will be used as the box to box midfielder and will need to work hard.
(Defending) – Both players will need to close the opposition down quickly and give them no space looking to dispossess them and start quick attacks when they do they will need to rush Arsenal this is important that they do this!! They will look to track the runs of the oppositions and Gustavo must make sure they are picking up the most creative Arsenal player in the midfield.

Holtby
Holtby will be be given the free role in the team he will look to create attacks, join attacks, get into the box when he can, collect the ball and always look to make something happen. The free role will enable him to move anywhere on the pitch to collect the ball and make things happen this will make him harder to mark aswell.
When we are defending he needs to close the opposition down as he is not afraid of putting in a tackle and is more than capable of dispossessing the oppsotion and breaking at pace so he will close the opposition down and when we win the ball back look to get into good positions to receive the ball so he can start attacks.

Menez and Lavezzi:
(Attacking) – Menez and Lavezzi will look to stick to the wings when not in possession they will look to receive the ball all the time and these two will need to put a shift in. They will look to take on their defenders and get to the byline and put crosses in for the strikers, as said above drilled crosses will be better for our players to try and get onto the end of. If they are feeling more confident both players can cut inside and take on the defenders and lay the ball off or have a shot, they will be asked to mix it up and not make their play to predictable. They will use the full backs to create space in behind the defenders for them to run into. If our team win possession they need to look to run into space to create a counter attack
(Defending) – Both players will need to put a shift in defensively also they will look to track back the runs of the Arsenal full backs. They will look to help out our full backs by doubling up on the winger if the opposition full backs don’t commit to the attack. If our full backs commit too far forward they will also look to cover the full back positions if needed.

Huntelaar:
(Attacking) - Huntelaar is a clinical finisher and will not be afraid to run at defenders and unleash a shot or two. He will be in the box when the crosses come into the box to try and get a tap in.
Marchisio will be having the free role so will be able to join Huntelaar and Huntelaar can use Marchisio to make space to create chances.

Subs:
If winning 80th min
Caulker for Holtby – 5 at the back and hang on for the win.
If Losing 75th min
Cisse for Holtby – 4-4-2 two up top.
D.Costa for Menez – Pace on the wings.

We are facing a strong side today, and therefore have decided to play counter-attacking football. We have a strong enough defence, in conjunction with a hard working midfield to limit the space in which they can play through constant pressure and will look to break at speed with direct, quick passing in order to catch them out with too many players having pushed forwards. Content not to have the ball, we will stifle their play and absorb any pressure they create before breaking forwards at speed with direct, quick and fluid play. It is important to note that we are not being defensive in our style against Hull, but rather maximising our chances of victory with a style of play that suits our game and means we are both a) More likely to score and b) Less likely to concede

Marchetti is a keeper whose experience gives him an edge and he knows that in this league debut he has a point to prove. He will be looking to exert confidence through claiming any balls into the box, and with his shot stopping ability will repel any efforts they have on goal. In order to launch us on the counter, he will distribute it quickly with good throws and kicking to players who are in space.

This a pacey yet strong defence that has both experience and game awareness in abundance. With our counter-attacking style, they will have a realtively deep line to hold, as we snuffle out there creative impoetous with the pressure of our three man midfield, with the back 4 mopping up any balls that are attempted by them. Benatia will have the role of marshalling the defence, and marking their main striker whilst Jesus will track any extra runners into the box. Enrique and Vrsaljko are going to stick to their respective sides; trying to take the wingers out of the game by limiting the space that they have to play in through sticking to them. They must remember that their primary role is to defend, and in doing so they will show their man to the crowded center of the pitch and thus out of any danger. However, when counter-attacking, due their pace and attacking intent will mean they can join our counter's at speed (only one of them, so as not to leave us exposed) and get on the overlap in order to create space for others/get the ball into the box. Vrsaljko, in particular, has extra license to get beyond Adrian who is playing as an inside forward. As a general rule of thumb, the defensive line will be quite deep - around the edge of the box - to allow little space for the opposition to attack into.

We are effectively playing a three man midfield. Comfortable at AM, CM and DM, we have listed Fernandinho at AM as when we break forwards on the counter he should be the most advanced of this trio. He will be looking to get in and around the box, providing another option and being the main link up with Remy and thus key to bringing other players into the move. However, when we are defending he is to drop to the center of the park, and help pressurize and cut out the creative impoteous of their creative players alongside Nainnggolan and Carrick. It will mean that their creative players in behind the striker have no room to find 'pockets' of space and will provide the basis of our midfield, meaning that we can break forward in numbers. Nainnggolan will be the box-to-box midfielder breaking from deep on the counter, and putting in a shift all over the pitch; whilst Carrick will be a 'quarterback' as our deep lying play maker, connecting the defensive and attacking phases together with his pinpoint passing which will create chances for us through finding players who are in space due to their likely attacking nature. of passing is very good, and he can draw players into him before picking out the man in space. This ability to draw players in and pass quickly and precisely is key to the 'transistion' phase of us counter attacking. This trio in midfield is perfectly suited to a direct, counter-attacking style of football and with substitutes coming on after a period of time they will not get excessively tired.

The key for both Ayew and Adrian today is to provide options when we counter with runs into space that can be picked out by our direct and fast passing. When on the ball, having found space, Ayew will look to the byline and get the ball into the box, towards Remy or the onrushing Fernandinho. However, Adrian will be playing as an inside forward and with Vrsaljko on the overlap will have more license to cut inside and target the space left between their sluggish LB/CB.They should both look to link up with the Frenchman when he is holding the ball up; providing options and movement to create space for both themselves and others.

Remy is the target man, and the focus point of our counter attacks. Ideally; we will be looking to get the ball to him in the box. He should occasionally look to bring others into the move, and link up with the trio behind him however his primary role as the focal point of our attack is to do what he does best - stick the ball in the back of the net. He should look to be utilising his pace to get behind the defence and beat their high line. His movement/pace will create chances for himself and others. Even in defence, he should look to push up the pitch, his presence being a nusiance for them as this will create the space for us to counter attack into.

Subs:

After 70 mins: Nordtveit > Nainnggolan, fresh legs in midfield.
After 75 mins if drawing/losing: Ilicic > Fernandinho; trequarista. Get forwards more and attack. Fresh legs.

Captain: Benatia
Set Pieces: Ayew
Penalties: Remy

If we recieve a red card, same style and replace Fernandinho with a like for like replacement for the man sent off.

----------------Mignolet
Anyukov---Wollscheid--Ogbonna--Antonini
---------Lucho------Arteta
Hulk-----------Kaka---------Gabby
----------------Torres

Subs – Malafeev, botia, Alex, Henriksen (For Arteta 80), Allen, Gabby Pienaar Rondon

Mignolet should stop the ball going in the net. That is his job. Commanding the defence also.

Anyukov should play as a wing back. This means when we have the ball he should play as a supporting role to our wingers and midfielders. He must go up to add to the pressure against their defence. He should stay out wide to create a crossing option and he will try and drill the ball into the centre. I want him to bring the other defenders towards him in order to open up space for Hulk to take advantage of. While defending Anyukov should try and push the player back. This means it gives our players the chance to get into their positions and also limiting any attacking options for them. If he can’t do that he should push him out wide to a position where he has to kick the ball off. This is because running into the box would be dangerous for us to handle so this will be prevented. Antonini should act as a full back and not go up as much as Anyukov will. This is because we want to create some stability at the back. They will be dangerous on the counter so if we look to keep some players back we can prevent goals from occurring. However I would like him to go up every now and then if my attackers do need the help. He should also look to keep the attackers back or push them out wide. When we have a free kick or corner our full backs should stay back in case of a counter attack.

Wollscheid should use his height and strength to keep the striker(s) out of the game. I want him to keep with that attacker at all times not allowing him to break up space. If he tries to move Wollscheid away and allow space to occur then he should temporarily leave him and try and trap him offside. Because Anyukov will be attacking he should act as help temporarily to prevent players cutting into the box. He should try and header every ball out of the box or kick it away. When he does kick it away he should kick it towards the wings so that we can create a counter attack. He should stay back when we’re attacking unless we have a corner or free kick. Ogbonna should use his experience and strength to keep potential runners into the box out. We do not want any space opened up. He should look to keep command of the defensive line making sure it’s not too high but not too deep. For Wollscheid I would like him to be up in the opposition’s box for corners and free kicks. Ogbonna should stay just outside the box before the free kick/corner is taken and then run in round the back when it is.

Lucho will act as a wall in front of the defence. He should look to disrupt their attacking play and be in the oppositions face, and watch the advances of their playmaker who will break from midfield and make runs into the box. Lucho has the power to cope with the strength of their playmaker and also the pace to follow the runs made by him. He will break late and Lucho should watch the runs into the box and look to cope with the balls put into the box which are heading for this player. He should not break forward but hold his position and not get caught up field. I want him to control the style of the game we play. While acting as cover for our defence he should also separate the midfield from the defence by keeping hold of the ball and form attacks.

Arteta will be our box-box midfielder. This means he will be linking our defence with our attack. He should take hold of the ball and then make runs forward and then supplying it to any of the front 4 ahead. When we’re attacking I want him to move up and stay in space. This will mean he will be an option for the others to pass to. He should also look to open up space for the other attacking players. When off the ball he should be a ball winning player by standing in front of their players and also covering up any spaces. Kaka should use his pace and strength to make runs into the box and opening up space for Robinho. It should do the same for the wingers as well. He will look to supply the ball to the wingers as well. He must make runs all around the front of the defence going right, left and centre. This will create himself as an added option for his wingers and also open up space for the other central players to run into. This will also cause his defensive midfielder to move out of position and allow our wingers to use that space by running into the centre or the other 2 central midfielders to run into.

I want Gabby to use his skill to keep the ball and then try and make runs into the box. This will cause the defender to follow him and opening up space for the full back to run into. He must use his pace to outrun the full back but also his quality control of the ball to dribble round him. He will use the full back when the space has opened up. He should work with Antonini to create space in the opposition’s box. Use Antonini out wide to bring their full back to him so Gabby can run into the box with less challenge. If that doesn’t work then he should bring the full back to him and then use Antonini. When we’re off the ball I want him to make runs back to help protect the defence by helping Antonini cover their full back. They should both pressurise him to make a mistake or remove the ball from that area. Gabby should also be cautious of the other midfielders. When defending a corner he should stay just outside the box so that he can start a counter attack when or if we win the ball back. I would like Hulk to do the same as Gabby in this case.

I would like Gabby and Hulk to intersect and change positions every now and then to cause their defenders to move out of position and open up space. This will also force them to constantly adapt to changing their defensive style.

Torres must use his pace and skill to open up spaces for the wingers and central players to run into. He should make runs to the wing forcing the centre backs out wide. Therefore players like Arteta, Kaka and the wingers can cut into the centre and take chances by themselves. He should look to overpower their defenders with his pace and strength and height. He should constantly look to move into space to create himself as an option for the defence. He should also try and assist others in attacks. When we’re defending he should mark the player at the edge of the box. When we win the ball back he can run up to keep himself an option on the counter.

V.Rhijn----O.Romeu----Dragovic----Conteh
---------------Jones--------Baker--------------
Weimann---------Fede Vico--------Ocampos
----------------------Morata--------------------

Beeney, Christensen, Aina, Loftus-Cheek, Neilton, Pozo, Kiwomya

set up the same way as the senior team to allow players to show they are capable of filling in at a higher level in there positions

A strong defence led by Captain for the day Dragovic sees two fairly attacking fullbacks who like to get down and support the wingers, go on the outside creating an overlap which should take there fb away freeing up space for the wingers, then they will either be played in or just act as a decoy. I f they recieve the ball then whip it in for the strikers, defend strongly and keep the wingers to the outside and away from danger. The two CBs are big, powerful boys. Romeu will use his tactical brain from playing DM to mark the CF into oblivion. Always remain focussed on the players and do not allow him time or space with the ball, Dragovic will sit spare, his involvement with the 1st team although not started yet has seen him train with Kopmpany, Subotic etc so knows his job exactly, sitting spare he will watch there movement and be onto anyone lurking about quickly or if Romeu loses his man he is there to support him, both CBs up for corners, Baker will sit back. Romeu will take the ball out from defence and make marauding runs up field.

Jones is the Dm he doesnt venture too far and sits quietly doing his job, which is to take the AM out of the picture, watch him like a hawk, always a step ahead of him to intercept there attacks. If Romeu makes his run upfield then Jones will sit back at CB so if Romeu loses or passes forward he can sit at DM. Baker will pass it about, he is looking to break into 1st team squad so will look to impress, pass and move, following the ball getting into positions of danger and always makes himself available for a return, one twos which will see him break forward and into the box.
Fede Vico is in a free role, a talented player who will along with Baker look to pass the ball about out to the wingers and really look to feed Morata in on goal, he and Baker will support Morata as much as possible with neat touches and quick passing to his feet or indeed over the top for him to chase. Both Vico and Baker must get back and support the defence and when doing so will sit either side of Jones.
Weimann and ocampos have freedom to attack and show off there pace and skills, love taking players n so will drive at FBs taking them on, if Rhijn or Conteh are suipporting either feed them down the line or cut in as there will be plenty space inside, use Morata, Vico, baker to pass and move into the box and bang one in the top corner. Track fullbacks when they attack and stop them becoming a concern
Morata is really the one looking to put pressure on the 1st teamers, his goal scoring record is second to none at U-21 level, pace, skill and a great eye for goal, just needs the merest of sniffs and its in the back of the net. Two good feet and great in the air, will get plenty of chances with those behind him, so take them, always moving and looking to get into space, a real handful for defenders.

qpr v NORWICH

--------------------M.Vorm-----------------------
Essien----Otamendi----Van Buyten----Sandro
-------------Flamini-------Banega---------------
-------------------Montolivio---------------------
Lacazette-----------------------------Rodriguez
--------------------Berbatov----------------------

Ortola, Douglas, Mallo, Osman, Berrada, Anibeche, Toivonen

Lets be truthful here, this is a must win game against QPR, we must give 100%, every single one of us, no doubting QPR are a decent side but we can match them and out do them with quick passing and moving..

We have brought in a few players with experience rather than youth for this game with players like Van Buyten and Berbatov coming in to hopefully lead this great club closer to safety..

Vorm in goal has proved over time what a fantastic shot stopper he is, he closes down strikers early to reduce their angles and will intimidate them into shooting off target. Off his line quickly to gather the ball and when highballs come in punch what he doesnt catch. Move the ball out early for quick counter attacks.

Back 4 is solid, now we all know Van Buytencant do 100m in 10 seconds, but what he brings is vital. Experience and a presence in the defence. At 6'6 he will win everything that comes his way, will attack high balls and get the ball away, and clear any danger away from goal. Can pass a bit as well so will look not only to clear but to get it up to the wingers or to the CMs. He sits spare helping Otamendi so if Ota loses his man VB is there to intercept anything that is becoming dangerous. Otamendi man marks, simple. Watches the CF even when we attack. has an awareness to keep track of his movement and be ready to close him down as soon as it looks as if he is going to get the ball. Again attack high balls and clear but really focus on the CF. Essien has become a very good RB, playing DM throughout his career his marking has become top drawer, will watch the winger and keep him out iof the game, keep him to the outside and stay tall only going to ground if he is 100% sure he will win the ball. When he has the ball pass up to Lacazette, will support at times and allow Lacazettte to get into space as Essien tries to find him. Sandro on the other side is more attack minded, will bomb up and down the line supporting Jese as the two youngsters really have a go at there right hand side, will sprint pass Jese either to drag the RB away freeing up room or look for the return ball in behind the defender to sprint onto and cross in. Defend his heart out and give the RW no time whatsoever and keep him away from goal on the outside.

Flamini is the DM, his job is quite simple. Stop there AM dictating play, wether its Kaka or Robinho he has played with them both and knows there game play, both good players but gone a bit stale recently so if Flamini hounds whoever plays they will lose the ball and we attack. Force them into mistakes they will soon get fed up. Once won simple passes to those around him. Banega sits alongside spraying the ball about, his vision is good so will look to find those in space, Berbatov isall about his movement so Banega will look to get him into the space created. Will help break up play by sitting alongside Flamini when they attack. Montolivio is the captain, we have plenty leaders on the park but he is the man in the middle and will direct everything. Can move and support Berbatov as much as possible, lookinjg to pick up from behind and move it out wide or up to the CF, always following his pass making himself available for a return ball, will at times move beyond Berbatov as the two look to punish the QPR defence. Again he will drop to the right of Flamini when they attack and defend his lines.

Jese and Lacazette have freedom to attack, two quick skillfull wingers who love taking there man on, Jese and Sandro inm particular will really drive at the RB and the two will enjoy there day, inter twining and moving around inside and out, quick one twos to get in beyond the defender to cross in for Monty and Berbatov. Lacazette on the other side likes to cut in off his right and drive into the box so look for the 3 cms to pass to and he can move itno spaces as they look to play him in. Berbatov is always in the right place at the right time so get the crosses in for him to have a go at. Both wingers will have to track the qpr fullabcks and stop them becoming a threat when they attack.

Berbatov leads the line in place of the injured Negredo, his movement and sheer intelligence of the game allows him to get into areas some other strikers wouldnt particulary move into, this allows him more time to gather hioself and get a shot away, looks to place theball at times rather than blast it and prone to the odd spectacular effort. Will have plenty support and crosses coming in so he needs top open up the defence with his movement and get on the end of things. If he cant then look to set up the likes of Jese, Monty and Lacazette or move players away to free up space for them to move onto.

Neuer, is a top keeper very confident and will dominate the area and come out for all high balls clearing what he cant punch. Look to close down strikers by quickly coming off his line to shut down there shooting angles.

A back four with Lahm and Baines at fullback, both solid players who defend their lines very well, keep the wingers quiet, keep them to the outside and away from our danger area. Attack when you can one at a time, support the wingers by going on the outside and look for a pass so you can get beyond the fullback and cross in, Or if in possession look to pick out Moura and El Shaawary and ping the ball down the line for them to latch onto.
First and foremost, Howedes has the responsibility to mark striker out of the game. This he does exceptionally well, using foresight and intelligence to keep him quiet. He rarely has to make a rash tackle, so watch the lads movwement and be ready to move in. When the ball comes towards a striker and Howedes is in the area to defend, Kompany moves into position to back up his teammate and fill in any gap that is left. If an opposing attacker makes a run in the centre, reacting to a ball played towards the striker Howedes is covering, Kompany shifts to defend against a potential pass.
If the striker gets away from Howedes it's the responsibility of Kompany to shift and defend directly. Both comfortable with ball at feet so move the ball out when in no danger, otherwise clear it with no messing about. Both attack high balls to clear.

Khedira the DM today. He watches the AM, watch his movement and be there quick to stop him setting up attacks, break the play up between him and the striker to nulify there attacking threat. Always on his toes as the AM will be good so we cant afford to let him dictate play. Vidal alongside, and will look to stamp his authority on this game early, Has great vision so will want to get his passing range in early to set the likes of Lucas, Mkhit, Aguero and El Shaawary up for many chances, and get them free into space, he will always follow his pass and make himself available for a return ball. Can shoot from range so have a go. When they have sit alongside Khedira and help him break up their attacks. His workrate is tremendous and will never give up a lost cause.

Mkhitaryan is in the free role, his attacking prowess is fantastic, will make late runs into the box and has tremendous vision. His inventiveness with his little flicks & dribbling skills are super too, but the best part is he knows where the net is. So will look to support Aguero as much as possible, sometimes making runs beyond him to get in on goal. Also use Lucas and El Shaawary for one twos to break the line of defence. El Shaawary is on the left, will look to drive at the fb, causing him all sorts of problems, cut in off his left and shoot with his right, or lay off to Mkhitaryan or Aguero to dart into the box for the return. Otherwise look to take on the fullback get to the bye line and cross into the box.Has a great understanding with Baines so will be looking for him on the outside. Moura will use his pace to get him passed his marker, knock it forward and use the forward momentum to get by the player and cross in, will do this all day long so Aguero will thrive on the support he will get from the two wingers. At times El Shaawary and Moura will be supported by our fullbacks so use them, either play it wide for them or allow them to take the markers away to free up space to drive into. I want all 3 attacking mids to track back and stopp there fullbacks and DMS getting forward and becoming a nuisance.

Aguero will get plenty of service from those around him so use his speed and prowess to get in and onto the crosses coming in or balls through the middle. With a low centre of gravity he is difficult to shrug off so his marker wont like going up against him, will look to get into dangerous positions to go for goal. If he cant and is well marked at times, then look to knock down or lay off to those coming in supporting.

Game Plan: We have rested our players sufficiently prior to this game with the likes of Higuain, Milner, Zabaleta, Ivanovic and Walcott not playing for weeks. A difficult game where we will be looking to defend and then get them on the counter. We will play solid banks of 4 in front of Arsenal, with players not moving out to chase the ball but instead making sure they don't leave spaces, again making Arsenal play in front of us. We also have Mikel to play between these two lines of 4, stopping any players getting space between them. We use the pace of the two wide men to counter, especially Walcott and Kolarov is no slouch either! We also use quick feet in the middle of the park with Milner and Moutinho in keeping the ball. We use the experience of Ivanovic and Zabaleta at the back to keep the back tight and concentrating at all times.

Tactics:
Al Habsi will use his height to collect crosses, allowing our defence to keep in shape, if we have a chance to counter from there Al Habsi uses his quick distribution to the wingers.

The back 4 keeps in line with no players moving out to close things down until the attack is around the edge of our area. They will defend deep to limit space behind us to stop Arsenal looking for their clever passes through the defence. They'll throw themselves at the ball if needed in order to stop Arsenal. FBs watch for the wingers, standing off them and allowing them to attempt to run on the outside, this will only take them too deep to cause any trouble we can get the ball out for a goal kick from here. In the tackle both will be strong, stopping the wingers coming inside and winning the ball back. Stop crosses coming in too. Neither will look to attack during this game unless we are behind at a late stage. Boateng and Godin will stay close to each other not allowing Arsenal to open up space. Boateng looks to defend the first ball coming towards our defence, using his excellent reading of the game to get there before the striker and clear, he'll use his great tackling to shut him down around the area and then look to get the ball back. He will be full of confidence as he is in magnificent form. Godin stays in position when Boateng does this covering the remaining space, he will be able to clear the second ball if it gets beyond Boateng. Don't move out to stop midfielders this is our midfielders job.

Mikel’s job today is to sit in between defence and midfield, almost as a spare player to both. He watches for players looking to get between the lines and then marks them out of the game, looking to get to passes before them and rush them into mistakes not giving them any room or time on the ball. He's also very good on the ball under pressure which gives both defence and midfield a pass to relieve pressure.

The second bank of 4 will look to allow Arsenal to bring the ball out from their half and then start to press in midfield. They won't move out of position though they'll look to use zonal marking, anyone who gets on the ball near them is closed down quickly to rush Arsenal. The midfield also have to be aware of runs from midfield, which is mainly likely to come from Silva/Cazorla, the midfielder near him must follow the run all the way and stop him causing trouble. Walcott and Kolarov will have a role to stop the FBs causing us trouble. Force them to go back or infield, blocking their forward runs. Milner and Moutinho work hard in midfield to slow Arsenal right down and not allow them to create chances to play in behind us. Milner with his energy will be able to work hard to close players down quickly and effectively whilst Moutinho will get to the player closest to him. In the counter both can play a big part, both should look to go forward and use their passing to launch the counter, getting the wingers into space to run at Arsenal. Both are able to show driving bursts from midfield with or without the ball and make runs into the area when we counter. Walcott and Kolarov look to take advantage of space FBs will leave when they attack and use our pace to get into them, take the ball right up to the area and then pick out a cross or use one twos to get in themselves. We will always have an outlet from midfield with Milner Moutinho Walcott Kolarov, all who have excellent pace, close control and dribbling.

Higuain will be play a key role today. Look to move it on quickly out wide and then spin and make your run in behind try and force mistakes or win free kicks. He is also very quick and will look to get a run on the defenders as he can get behind Arsenal this way. Look to get space in the box on counters and take any chances that come his way.

Subs:

If winning/drawing 65’ – Higuain comes off for Gignac. Same system, better for our hold up play
If winning/drawing 75’ – Higuain comes off for Gignac. Same system, better for our hold up play. Valbuena on for Walcott, provides us better option of keeping the ball and better better defensively also.

Game plan:
we need to win this to keep up with our European challenge. my team will be organised and will pressure them all over the pitch causing them to make a mistake, then we can hit them on the break with the pace in our team.

Friedel:
Friedel is a very good keeper and he will look to demand his area, he will collect/punch crosses and he will collect loose balls that come into the box.

Gustavo and Strootman
(Attacking) – Both of these players will be playing the deeper role in the team and they will both look to spread the play over the pitch when they are position however they will look to play it simply and not over complicate their passes and wont play still passes that will cost us possession.
Strootman will be the player to push up if we are struggling to create many chance where as Gustavo will not and will Stay back, Strootman will be used as the box to box midfielder and will need to work hard.

Marchisio
Marchisio will be be given the free role in the team he will look to create attacks, join attacks, get into the box when he can, collect the ball and always look to make something happen.

Cisse:
(Attacking) - Cisse is a clinical finisher and will not be afraid to run at defenders and unleash a shot or two. He will be in the box when the crosses come into the box to try and get a tap in.
Marchisio will be having the free role so will be able to join Cisse and Cisse can use Marchisio to make space to create chances.

Subs
Begovic, Clichy, Diakite, Denisov, Barry, Lennon, Auby

Tactics
An attack-minded 4-2-3-1 formation with emphasis on keeping possession and playing with width to stretch the opposition.

Defensive Midfielders
Inler will look to just sit in front of the back 4, looking to cover the full backs when they go forward. and when we are defending, he will track the opposition AM, only leaving him if another Midfielder is making inroads into the final third with the ball. Modders will keep the side ticking over, playing deep to get the ball from the defence, and looking to supply the front 4 with ammunition, when defending, he will hover around the centre of the pitch, harassing the centre mids when they have the ball.

AM
Payet will be playing a central role today, not a position he has played recently, but a role that he is versed in, in the role he will be looking to pick up the ball in a bit of space, and use his quick turn of pace and trickiness to get himself half a yard and test the keeper with a long shot, or look to dummy the shot and try and test a cb's resolve and on occasion that should give Gomez a bit of space to work with.

Wingers
They should look to stay as wide as possible when they receive the ball to try and stretch the defensive line and create space for midfield runners and/or Gomez. When on the ball, both wingers have the ability to stay wide and put a cross in, or cut inside to try and make space for a shot, so should look to pick out which is the best option at the time, if they do cut inside, the full backs should have moved forward to occupy the touchline and provide an out ball if there is no other option. If they have taken the opposition full back out of the game, they shouldnt be afraid to go into the box, as defenders will be extra cautious to not give away a penalty, and this provides the option of just drilling a cross to Gomez or a simple drag back to Payet, who should be taking a position on the edge of the box. When the opposite winger has the ball, the winger without the ball should look to find space between the CB and full back to add an extra body for any crosses or capitalise on any defensive errors.

Striker
When defending, he should look to keep tabs on the defensive midfielder to stop any easy balls being played back to him, when attacking, he should look do what he does best and thats pounce in the penalty box, so in build up play he should just keep it simple, not trying too extravagant and lose possession, and make his way into his second home.

Set Pieces
Corners - Robben and Ribery take inswinging corners, the 2 CB's go into the box, the FB's and Inler stay back to prevent counters, the CB's, and Gomez attack the ball, Modders, Payet and the non taking winger take positions just outside the box to pick up any weak defensive headers or knockdowns.

Free Kicks - For direct FK's Modric and Ribery will shoot depending on which foot it favours. For Indirect FKs, follow the same directives for Corners

Penalties - Robben is the designated taker.

Subs

If Winning
68 mins - Barry for Robben - Barry slots alongside Inler, with Modders just infront, Payet LW, we shore the game up defensively, with Barry looking to hustle the opposition midfielders.

76 mins - Lennon and Auby for Ribery and Gomez - The wingers tuck back, but with the knowledge to get out quickly for the front 3 to try and counter as Pompey over-commit for a route back into the game.

If Losing

71 mins - Auby for Payet - Auby slots alongside Gomez to add a bit of pace to the strikeforce and give the CBs a different king of problem.

77 Mins - Barry and Lennon for Robben and Inler - Lennon adds a bit more pace to go against a tiring FB, and Barry adds an extra passing element to launch it forward to the front 2 if needs be.

-------------- Buffon
Rafael – Albiol – Pepe – Filipe
--------- Sandro – Pirlo
Reus ------- Hamsik---- A.Young
--------------- Dzeko
Subs. Cesar, Abate, Kelly, Lucas.L, Ox, Shaqiri, Eto’o

We would enjoy nothing more than beating our big rivals from last season. At home and having only won one in our last 4/5 games, we need to take the result from the last game and build on it. We have a lot of pace going forward and a lot of strength in the air.

Our gameplan against Hull is simple, play very wide, get the ball down the wings and get crosses in for Dzeko, with Hamsik following in, the Eastern European partnership is sure to conquer, the stuff Stalin's dreams were made of.

We want to play direct, get the most out of having Pirlo behind pacey attacking mids with a target man up top. Balls over the top for our trio, or up to Dzeko to knock on for our trio.

Loyal’s spurs players will struggle without Bale! On the other hand our play will be just like Willy Wonka’s daughter, delicious!

Defensively, we will look for Pepe to mark their cf. Albiol will be the spare cb, and look to read the play and cover. No offside trap, don’t want to be caught giving Lavezzi a run on you. Otherwise we have more than enough pace at the back. One full back stays back at a time, the other flies forward to join the attack. We don’t want to play deep, push the defence up slight ahead of where they normally would be, but not too high(playing roughly 10 yards behind half way line). When defending we will get 9/10 men behind the ball(4-4-1-1) Hamsik on their deep midfielder, moving from right to left as the ball does. Two walls of defence with Hamsik in front, make it so there is no room for them to find a pass or space. High pressure as soon as Hull come into our half.

We will play direct and quickly but no aimless long passes, anyone that does that will have Pepe to deal with. Play down the wings or through Pirlo. Going forward when possible. If not, turn back and look for Sandro and Pirlo who will be supporting the attack from deep (one will be deeper than the other) and start again.

Going forward we always want to have two players wide when attacking. Be it a full back and a winger, that’s fine, the other winger can come inside then. Otherwise our players have attacking freedom and can be fluid going forward.

The men
Buffon – Bossing the back four. Comanding the box, coming to gather crosses as he can do, when possible. Just play his natural game.
Back four – One full back forward at a time. Be quick to join the attack. Other full back stay reserved but ready to break forward. Must be wary of Lavezzi. Pepe should be able to bully their cf, and we have Albiol looking to cover.

Sandro and Pirlo. Our deep midfield 2. Sandro the bully, break up their play, going in strong but fair. Sandro to keep things simple in possession. Pirlo, look to play his natural game, getting on the ball. Sandro playing deep in front of the defence when in possession. Pirlo a little more advanced, but always looking to come deep and take the ball from defence when starting the attack. Pirlo creating and pinging balls about from deep will leave them chasing shadows.

Attacking trio – Movement will be key. Fluid in our attacking play, but keeping one winger wide.
Dzeko – Standard target man role, take the ball down and hold it up or flick it in behind for one of our trio. And get in the blooody box.

Free Kicks & Corners: Pirlo
Penalties: Pirlo
Captain: Buffon

Pirlo's set piece delivery's and our strenght in the air will be a sure strength, with Pepe, Sandro, Dzeko, Evans and Hamsik all getting involved at times we'll be near impossible to deal with. At the other end these guys will all look to be back. Leaving Reus and Young out the box, one on edge of box and one 10 yards behind the half way line. Break quickly!

Pick n Mix.
If losing/drawing after 65 mins bring on Shaqiri for Reus, Reus go left, Shaqiri right.

If losing/drawing after 75 mins bring on Ox for Pirlo. Playing attacking 4-3-3, Ox and Hamsik in midfield trio. More energy as the game opens up.
If losing after 80 mins bring on Eto’o for Hamsik. 4-2-4.

If winning after 70 mins bring on Shaqiri for A.Young. Reus goes left, Shaqiri right.
If winning after 75 mins bring on Lucas.L for Pirlo and Eto’o for Hamsik. Fresh impetus in the middle. Playing 4-4-2. Sandro more attacking than Lucas.L. More power going forward. More width, as game opens up less need for Pirlo and Eto'o gives us the player to take advantage of that space.

Foster is a vocal keeper and will command his back line.
Jagielka will mark Utds main striker while Tomkins will sweep away any loose balls in the box.
Iraola and Monreal have the licence to go forward and support the attack when necessary
M’Vila will break up play .he is the enforcer in midfield, Cabeye will act as the play maker with good distribution of the ball making the team tick. The French duo will work great together.
Ben Arfa and Lamah will as always attack the full backs with great pace and dribbling, whipping balls into the box or cutting inside and taking a shot so they don’t become predictable. The two can also act as inside forwards if necessary
Michu is lethal in the air and had good control of the ball. He will play behind Ba, playing him through or taking a shot from his knockdowns
Ba will use his strength and pace to bully the Wolves defence. He will hold the ball up if he has little support to bring other into play. Goalscorer.

Portsmouth vs Birmingham

----------------------------Timo Horn--------
---Daniel Carvajal-David Luiz--Bonucci---Criscito
--------------Javi Martinez--Marouane Fellaini--
-----Griezmann---------Toni Kroos--------Draxler
----------------------------Lewandowski

Subs: Koval, Danilo, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Nastasic, Verratti, Icardi

Game Plan: We will look to attack our opponents using a slick, pass and move game. We believe we have the abilities in defence to pass the ball out and start counter attacks, as Luiz is dynamic and will carry the ball forward, and alongisde him, Bonucci is an excellent passer of the ball, and mustn't be afraid of stepping into midfield at times to use his fantastic ball playing skills. Our two CB's must look to play the ball out if defence, as they both suit each other very well. Daniel Carvajal and Criscito can also pick out a pass down the wings, and they should look to make supporting runs on the outside of our wingers. In midfield, Javi Martinez will defend our backline, and he is one of those DM's that will never give up, and always hassle and harry the opposition. He is also a very good passer, and he will look to spread play out to the wings, and break up play, before keeping the ball alongside Fellaini. Fellaini is best known for his brilliant box to box skills, great physical presence, and fantastic drive, so he will play in the b2b role, before turning into a kind of AM when needed. Toni Kroos will control the game from AM, and will be in support of Robert Lewandowski at all times. He will look to pick the ball up from midway, and direct those power shots into the corners. He will also look to use his top vision to find ways to release Griezmann and Julian Draxler. Griezmann's job will be to run at the LB, take him on, and whip in low balls for Lewandowski and Draxler, who are both guaranteed to finish them off. His pace is his best asset, and is clearly faser tgan Schmelzer so will look to take bim on and beat him evry time he ges the ball. Julian Draxler will be on the other end, and use his dazzling dribbling ability, and superb acceleration to turn away from fullbacks, and clip in high balls for Lewandowski to throw himself at. Lewandowski will be the one who will finish off every move, and he is top scorer in the Bundesliga for a reason. His fantastic positioning and his marauding runs in the box will confuse opposition, and Lewandowski will then attempt to finish off every ball which comes into the box. Lewandowski will be winning everything in the air, and finishing with an aplomb. He his two-footed, and is a wonderful finisher, so will look to attack every ball, and link up well with Griezmann and Draxler. Both CBs come up for corners to put pressure on ther CBs

Target areas:-

RB: we will look to take advantage of Birmingham's Juanfran, who is an extremely attacking RB, and tends to leave back plenty of gaps when he goes forward. Draxler works this out brilliantly, and will flourish in the freedom. It w ill be a real dream chance for Draxler to shine, with him looking to bathe in the space given to him, he will cause problems down the left, which shows we will have the advantage down both flanks

DM: Although Inler is still decent, we will look to over power him and make sure Kroos gets the better of him where the game will be won

RCB: Hummels has been dreadful this season, and his proneness to make a mistake will be crucial, with our forwards pressurising him on the ball. Furthermore, he is left footed, and Birmingham will be playing two left footed CB's, which will make it easier for us to wrong foot their defence, and Lewandowski will cripple him everytime they come close. On top of this, Agger has been very poor from set pieces this season for Liverpool, so when it comes to corners, we will look to target him specifically and make runs in behind him, whilst the 2 big men from the back will come forward ready to get their heads on anything

RB: Juanfrab is very attacking, and this.

RW: Robben is extremely inconsistent, but on his day is a wonder, however, we have seen that whenever he tries to come inside, he nearly always tries to go for ambitious shots, so we will specify Carvajal to mark him down the wings and prevent any crosses, but when he comes inside, Carvajal must keep his ground, not allowing Robben to pass him.

AM: Payet is easily their worst player on the pitch, and Javi Martinez should really get the better of him today. We must mark him tight, as Birmingham look rather dead in central/attacking midfield, as Modric is much less effective at CM

Freekicks - Kroos
Penalties - Kroos
Corners - Toni Kroos
Captain - Bonucci

Defence: We will start off in a 4-2-3-1 formation, relying on Carvajal and Criscito to do what they do best, and really attack the flanks, with Griezmann and Draxler playing as wingers, instructed to drift inside, allowing space for the FB's. Carvajal especially, must look to get those fantastic crosses into the penalty are, where Lewandowski can launch himself at the ball, or where Draxler will be lurking. On the other side, Criscito is defensive-minded, but is a terrific dribbler, so he must look to take on his man, and venture into the Brimingham half as much as possible, and look to play short 1-2's with the likes of Fellaini and Kroos. Both of these Fullbacks must come back at all times, to prevent Wigan from hurting us on the counter. Alongside them, David Luiz and Bonucci are a strong a pairing as any. They are a real force to be reckoned with, and not only is Luiz one of the fastest CBs around, he is extremely good in the air, and a brilliant leader at the back, and he must position himself well at every set piece, marking the attacker that likes to make difficult runs to the back post. It’s a very powerful and pacy defence and all four players are very, very talented with the ball at their feet and remained composed and know exactly what to do when in possession. When we are under little pressure, Bonucci will step up into a Sweeper role, where he can utilise his excellent passing skills, linking up well with Martinez in midfield. Bonucci and Luiz will not be beaten by crosses, high or low, as Luiz attacks the first ball, and failing that, Bonucci will clean up. We will be playing a moderate line where Birmingham will struggle to break down, as it limits their pacy wingers (Robben and Ribery) to run in behind the defence. Javi Martinez will be expected to drop back a notch, ala De Rossi, when they attack, where he can keep his eyes on Payer and Modric and will act as a sweeper, with Criscito and Carvajal pushing up further:

---------Bonucci----Luiz
-Carvajal----Martinez---Criscito

Moving on from defence, we will be playing a lovely mix of midfielders in our central 3. On his return Javi Martinez will be the most defensive of the lot, pulling all the strings from defensive midfield. His excellent vision, and eye of the needle passes will help unlock Birmighams defence, as we look to play in Griezmann and Draxler, whilst Griezmann and Draxler must drop back to receive short passes, before passing it on again. As he is a natural DM, Javi Martinez must be wary of stepping forward without protection, as we can get out done on the counter, but he will be looking to always get the ball rolling, and sometimes clip those 40 yard passes over the top for Lewandowski, who is an expert in controlling, and holding the ball. Alongside him is our box-to-box midfield enforcer Maroune Fellaini, who will start deep, but later go on to form an attacking triangle with Kroos when we are chasing a goal, in a 4-1-2-3

-----------Javi Martinez
----Toni Kroos---------Fellaini

If we are lacking creativity in AM. However, Fellers must not neglect defensive duties, and his immense power and presence must combine with his pressing ability to always win the ball back when we lose it. Fellaini offers great drive from midfield, and his powerful shots are an added bonus to us. His passing is always accurate, and he must look to supply Greizmann and Draxler with sly passes and through balls, to try and find a way in behind Brums defence. Ahead of him, Toni Kroos will be playing AM, but must also help out defensively, and when we are under pressure, we must revert to a 4-5-1

-----------Fellaini--Toni Kroos--Martinez
Griezmann--------------------------------Draxler

As this will bring more stability to the midfield, and can contain Brums attacks down the centre of the pitch. However, Kroos' role is crucial to our team. He is the one that brings all the flair to the table and with superb passing skills and quick thinking ability, his main aim will be to slip in one of our forwards. If there comes a time when the ball breaks to him, he must use his silky feet to slip away from defenders and find space, and he must not forget that he will almost always have support in Fellaini. All midfielders should be able to cover our Fullback's runs, so if Crisicoto is caught out, we must rely on Fellaibi to move into his position, and cover for him, and same with Marty on the other side. This will ensure that we will always have our full backs cover

Up ahead, Griezmann and Draxler start as wingers, with strict instructions to revert to a 4-3-3 when we need more bodies attacking centrally. In this formation change, we will be relying more on Carvajal and Crisicito to cover the entire flank, as with Griezmann and Draxler playing inside forward roles, we don't want to lack width:

-------Martinez-----Fellaini
------------Toni Kroos
-Griezmann-----------Draxler

This will make us more threatening in the central areas, and give’s us natural width, if we need it via the full backs. It will also conjure up more space for the FB to thrive off, where they have more time to spot runs and passes, with our midfielders looking to cover them if they run out of position. However, if we need to attack Birmingham out wide, our 2 inside men will look to revert back to the starting wing roles in the 4-2-3-1 and must look to go back outside with Kroos stepping a notch, allowing our two wingers to confuse opposition defenders and create up a great understanding with the 3 CM’s. Greuzmann has brilliant dribbling skills, and very quick feet, and he must look to turn away from oppressors when he has the chance, before using his brilliant vision to find a Portsmouth shirt. His brilliant versatility means we cover almost every position in the left-central area of the pitch, as Greizmann likes to come inside, but doesn’t mind going by the touchline and drifting inside like most inside forwards. He must also look to get some brilliant crosses onto the heads of Lewandowski, or the feet of Drax, but also should look to set up Kroos/fellaini, who will no doubt be lurking just outside the box, for a volley or long shot. On the other side, Draxler is a brilliant finisher, and he loves to take on his man, whilst he’s always reliable when it comes to making runs off the last man. His rapid pace must see him chase the ball every time it breaks loose, whilst his lethal runs will always be a danger to Birmingham. If any chance falls toDraxler, he must take it, as his finishing is a brilliant asset, and he must always be a mirror to Greizamnn, when it comes to formation, as soon as we revert to a 4-3-3, he and Griezmann must turn central, in the roles of an inside forward, cutting/drifting in only when our two fullbacks are ready to run into space. Likewise, when we implement a 4-2-3-1, they will both automatically hug the touchline, cutting in only when they have support.

NOTE: Draxler and Griezmann will start off as wingers, but as soon as we do a formation switch, they will act as inside forwards, before reverting as we do

Up front, Lewandowski is the dream striker to play alongside in a 4-2-3-1 as not only does he drop back, but he attacks every ball in the box and is great at holding it up. Our 3 forwards must look to combine at every opportunity. Lewandowski must also look to to finish off every chance that falls his way, and he is brilliant in the air, so must outmuscle the defenders, when it comes to taking crosses of Carvajal and Griezmann. He will rely on his quick thinking, positioning, Technical ability and Finishing Prowess and look to crumble the Birmingham defence, with his brilliant knack of finding the back of the net

Summary

We will concentrate on doing what we do best and playing to our strengths – keeping hold of the ball and working it simply around the park. Nothing flash or risky – just possession football. Patience could be the key and if we keep it tight we have the personnel to get us a goal. We also pose a very dangerous threat on the counter. We have pace to move the ball forward very quickly and enough pace to regain our shape if the opposition turn it around and try and counter us. In defence Fellaini will sit deeper, with Javi Martinez dropping back into the sweeper role, and will be expected to be his energetic self and press the opposition midfield/forwards and knock them out of their rhythm. Our wingers and full backs will sit a bit deeper to stay alert and ready to use their speed at any chance of a counter, although our two FB will be stepping up a notch to allow Martinez to develop into his more defensive self. With the ability of our team to change formation depending on the circumstances we have enough in midfield and out wide to starve them from the ball and with this will open up acres of space and with neat simple passing and bags of pace, this will be a very productive area for us. We will be looking to get bodies in the box. With fast and fluid attacking play Lewabdowski and Kroos will always have support in this area and our wide men will always have a target to get the ball in to. With the trickery of Kroos, Griezmann and Draxler then the opposition can always expect the unexpected.

Subs:

If winning on 60: Matic > Fellaini, more defensive CM

Whetever score on 60: Shaw > Criscito, if winning he goes LB in formation below, if not winning he offers much more attacking wise than Criscito

If drawing/winning on 60: Veratti > Griezmann:

-------------Bonucci----------Luiz
----Carvajal------Javi Martinez-----Luke Shaw
------------Verratti--------------Matic
-----------------------Kroos
---------------------------------Draxler
-------------------Lewandowski

Very defensive midfield pack it up with Shaw and Carvajal providing great width when we need it. Really nulify Birmingham. Front 3 providing excellent options, the type of formation Lewandowski and Draxler will thrive off

If drawing/losing on 60: Shaw > Criscito, More attacking LB o fit in our for ation

If drawing/losing on 60: Danilo > Carvajal, offers brilliant attacking style from RB

If drawing/losing on 75: Icardi > Kroos: Two up front, offers great danger up front

Game Plan:
We're in top form and looking to continue that today. We bring back key players like Cahill and Mata fully fresh for the remainder of the season. Our aim is to keep hold of the ball in the middle and use the width we have to go at the opposition, doubling up against the FBs and opening the game up, getting plenty of crosses into the box. We have excellent passers as well as the pace and power to drive us forward and will look to play at a high tempo and get the chances. Defensively we play a very high tempo pressing game, hunting down the opposition in numbers and disrupting their rhythm, looking to win the ball back as soon as we lose it. The back four are very solid and they keep the Southampton attack infront of us, forcing them to play into our defence's hands where they're less of a threat, with our midfield really hounding them.

Tactics:
Diego Alves will look to command the penalty area, coming out to collect crosses and then throwing it out quickly to get us moving forward. He's got excellent reflexes and is quick off his line, if the offside trap is beaten he's out at the feet of the striker before they have time to think.

Kalas is excellent defensively, we want him to stay tight to the winger and force him right down the line, make it difficult for him to pick his targets when crossing and make sure he can't cut inside. Face up to the winger and use his pace to not allow him to get a run in behind. He's also excellent at coming across and using his pace and reading of the game to cover the CBs, if needed, he must do this. Offensively when the attack is down his side he will get forward in support of Lamela and look to use his good crossing ability. Marcelo on the other side has the bigger license to go forward, using Asamoah as his decoy we want him to provide much of the attacking threat down the left with his excellent dribbling and link up play he can open things up and get plenty of crosses in or get into the box where he can go for goal or pull it back for a tap in. He's also very good at making runs infield and can do this to change things up and create more spaces, either for Asamoah, or take players away from Cavani and Mata. Defensively he must use his pace against the winger to stop him getting a run in behind, force him backwards or into tight spaces to get the tackle in, never let him cut infield.

Dante and Cahill are both strong, commanding CBs. When one deals with the first ball the other waits for any loose balls and deals with the danger, whilst also watching for the movement of opposition players and now allowing them any space around our box. One must get tight to the CF when he's in a threatening position, anywhere close to our penalty area or in free space between the defence and midfield, don't allow him goal side and keep him pushed back, be strong in the tackle and dominant in the air, both read the game very well so whilst one is marking the striker the other is in position to mop up if the striker does get away. Both are also very good with last ditch challenges, we need them to be fully committed and deal with everything. Clear every ball into the box, we should be very comfortable in the air. We want to keep the ball so if there's no danger they can pass it out from the back, looking for long diagonals out to the wings to start things off and stretch the opposition out.

Marrone and Ramires provide the base to our midfield, between them they have a bit of everything. Marrone will play as the deepest of the two, looking to keep a close eye on the AM and stick in him whenever Southampton are on the ball, not allowing him into the game, staying tight, being strong in the tackle to throw him off his game and stop him finding spaces or the time to use the ball. On the ball he's got great passing technique and should look to keep the ball moving from his deep role, keeping it simple unless one of the forwards has made a well timed run, in which case Marrone can pick him out. Ramires is the engine room, off the ball he is hounding the opposition midfield like there's no tomorrow, always working hard to close down the man in possession and make it difficult for him to pick a forward pass, looking to win the ball back quickly. He should use his driving runs to get us on the front foot, using his elusive dribbling and brilliant pace to take the opposition midfield out of the game and go for the heart of their defence, either playing the ball into the central players, outwide to open the game up or linking with a one two and getting in behind away from the defence, or even just going straight for goal himself, the CBs can't touch him when he's in full flight, in one on ones he's always clinical and we expect him to be today.

Mata in the AM role will be looking to get on the ball and take a command on this game. He goes where he likes, dropping deep to get us moving forward, drifting out towards the wings to create space for the wingers to make an inside run, as well as linking up outwide with the wingers to open things up for a cross, either from himself or the winger/FB. He will always be on the move, making it impossible for the opposition to find him and once he gets that pocket of space and a moment on the ball he can pick the killer ball, either behind the FBs for our wide men or over the top/through the defence for the Cf. He'll link with the deeper two in midfield to keep the ball rolling, particularly looking for Ramires' forward bursts as well as getting close to Cavani to support him, linking up and getting him in on goal or making his elusive runs in behind the defence to get on the end of chances himself. He can use his good skill on the run to beat players and open things up. He's our orchestrator, we want him everywhere causing complete chaos to the Southampton back line.

We want to play with a lot of width so the wingers will be key today. Lamela looks to really get at the opposition FB using his dribbling and pace to get past him and open things up, from there he can start to attack the box, in full flight he is almost impossible to stop and will be able to create plenty of chances for himself and team mates when driving into the box from the angle. We also want him linking with Kalas and getting plenty of crosses in and at times he drifts infield where his dribbling can open things up and he can play the killer ball or go for goal. He should also use his movement to get into the box to finish chances, particularly attacking crosses at the back post where he's lethal. Asamoah has more of a decoy role today, we want him to start right out on the touchline, drawing the FB to him and allowing Marcelo the freedom to rampage forward, from here Asamoah can cover the FB position if needed, or make runs on the outside or inside to link with Marcelo and support him in opening the defence. He can make driving runs between FB and CB too as well as linking the play up infield. On the counter he an be key, keeping the width and providing the pure pace option outwide to provide a clinical counter. Crosses from the wide men will be directed to Cavani or a midfielder making a run in unmarked.

All 3 of previously mentioned players will get fully involved in the pressing game, hounding the opposition as soon as we lose the ball, hunting in pacts and giving Southampton no chance to build up an attack.

Cavani will be the focal point of the attacks, his strength and movement will be key to occupying the CBs and opening up space for the rest of the team, to attack the middle or use the flanks and get lots of crosses into him. We want Cavani physically dominating the CBs, holding them off and getting involved in the link up play to keep the ball moving very quickly to open the opposition up, with clever one touch passes out wide or into Mata or even flicks for a runner in behind him. Use his movement to run off the CBs and get on the end of a through ball. Attack all crosses.

Subs:

If Winning: Matuidi for Marrone 70', suits the pressing game perfectly. De Bruyne for Lamela 75', fresh legs and very good pressing the ball. Chalobah for Mata 85', form a very powerful midfield 3, make it impossible for Southampton to get anything in the final few minutes by imposing themselves on the game.

If Drawing: Matuidi for Cahill 70', Marrone goes to CB to help us start attacks from the back, Matuidi provides an extra drive in midfield. Villa for Asamoah 75', more direct and brilliant movement, really get involved in creating and taking chances. Hernandez for Cavani 80', fresh legs, he looks for the spaces in the box and poaches the goals.

If Losing: Villa for Kalas 65' 3-5-2, with Marrone back into defence and Asamoah alongside Ramires with Marcelo and Lamela the wingers. Hernandez and De Bruyne for Marcelo and Asamoah 75', De Bruyne gets the ball moving and pushes up towards Mata, Villa goes wide to support attacks and Hernandez alongside Cavani:

Alves
Cahill Marrone Dante
De Bruyne Ramires
Lamela Mata Villa
Hernandez Cavani

------------------------------Mirko Vucinic

Subs: Kirchoff, Borja Valero, Diego, Abdennour, Kovacic, Cerci, Jay Rodriguez

Freekicks: Hermann
Corners: Rakitic
Penalties: Gaitan
Captain: Stekelnberg

Defence: Licht and Adriano are very very good at attacking, so must look to go for Oppo's FB, and get down the flanks and offer support to Herrmann and GaitN. Thye must not neglect defensive duties, whilst Cirigliano and Rakitic must cover for their FB's, if they go too advanced. In the centre, Sakho and Astori are a very solid partnership, with one relying on speed and sharpness, the other relying on quick thinking and aerial ability. They must track the CF without giving away silly fouls, and must also look to clear the ball away, and both are very good with their feet, so must look to play the ball out of defence is possible, and knock it long if they are under too much pressure. No silly back passes or mistakes must be made, but Astori mustn't be afraid of stepping into midfield where he can utilise his brilliant passing ability.

In midfield, Cirigliano is the brilliant young DM that is a brilliant passer and one of the best tacklers around. He must look to always stop the AM in their tracks, as well as spraying the ball into the forward areas. He is like our Busquets, as his passing is almost like that of a deep lying playmaker, long or short, whilst he never neglects defensive duties, so must get stuck into the Norwich players. Alongside him, Rakitic is having a wonderful season, and he will be playing the dictator role. Hacing scored twice yesterday, Rakitic must pull of those stunning passes that see him cut open defences, and must supply the front 3 with deadly balls. His passing is that of a typical La Liga CM-with the ability to go long or short, he must control the tempo of our play. Ahead of these two CM's, we have Herrmann, Coutinho and Gaitan. We plan on giving Coutinho a free role in behind Vucinic, as whilst he rarely plays there, I believe he is good enough for that role, as he is very fast, and extremely good at taking on his man, using short bursts of pace to get around players, and his crossing is very good too, and must look to send in through balls for Vucinic to take into his stride. He must always give vucinic support so he isn't isolated. To his right, Herrmann is a very good RM,but he will be playing slightly more advanced, with the hope that Licht can cover ground to give him great support down the right flank. Herrmann is a great passer, with brilliant vision, so must look to pass the ball around, and offer quality crosses for the likes of Damiao. On the other side, Gaitan has. Two gifted feet and a great eye for a pass, and must take on his man and beat him every time, whilst also giving those dream passes, flicking them into Coutinho or Vucinics path. He must cut inside, giving plenty of space for Adriano to run wild in, whilst causing lots of problems for Opponents back line.

Up front, Guinic is the CF. He must control every ball, using his powerful physique to shield the ball from defenders and hold the ball up for the rest of our attackers. His movement is brilliant, so he must look to reach every ball, and attack every loose ball in and around the box. He is a real finisher too, so must combine his knack of scoring goals with his fantastic attitude to try and find some precious goals for Our team.

Sorry just noticed in my subs I've made a typo. Should obviously be Young coming off, otherwise Reus couldn't play on left

Pick n Mix.
If losing/drawing after 65 mins bring on Shaqiri for Young, Reus go left, Shaqiri right.

NORWICH v wolves

----------------------Vorm----------------------
---------------Buyten-----Mexes---------------
Lowton-------------Essien-------------Sandro
---------------Pjanic------Monty---------------
Lacazette---------------------------Rodriguez
--------------------Berbatov--------------------

Ortola, Otamendi, Anita, Osman, Sterling, Traore, Anibeche

Gone for a fairly attacking line up, to really have a go from the start, hit them quickly and hopefully surprise them, quick passing, run at your men really get into their faces and have a go, really nothing to lose..

Vorm in the sticks is a top shot stopper, quick off his line to shut down strikers and reduce their shooting angles, out for high balls and punch clear what he cant catch, look to release early and set up quick counters..

Van Buyten and Mexes two very experienced centre backs, must use this v the striker, Mexes will pick up the CF and watch his every move, be onto him quickly as they break to stop him getting momentum, nothing silly just keep him away from goal! Van Buyten at 6'6 attacks every high ball coming into the danger area, must not be beaten by a smaller striker, if its Drogba then hell hath no fury..He must go for these balls 100% and no backing out, he must clear the danger. Look to assist Mexes and be mindful of the CF getting away from him so VB can tuck in round and stop him. Both if in possession nice simple balls out to those ahead of them, Sandro and Lowton at Fullback are attack minded but please boys one at a time. Both young and energetic love to get down the flanks and support the wingers, go on the outisde as the wingers look to play them down the line so they can cut in, even if the ball doesnt come at least take the FBs away freeing up gaps in there defence. If they do get the ball then whip in early crosses for Berbanator to meet..Also if they wish deep crosses from half way line if there is gap opening up. Defend there hearts out, they have the pace to keep with wingers, so show them to the outside and keep crosses to a minimum.

Essien's job is simple, just sit in front of the two CBs to give them the protection they may need, he doesnt venture far, just plays the line across them picking up the AM and stopping him dictate play, will also if needed fuill in for Lowton or Sandro if they are up the field and they break quickly, allows Sandro/Lowton to fill in at CM/DM instead o9f sprinting all the way back. Once he has the ball simple passes to those around him.

Pjanic and Monty in the centre, now these two I am looking to run the game, Monty the playmaker and Pjanic the more forward thinking runner. Monty will pick it up andlook to play it down the line for the fullbacks and wingers to latch onto..Or play it forward asd Pjanic goes up and look to play into gaps he can make himself available to go into, Monty always follows his pass making himself available for a return, they must reach a quick understanding anddominate there defensive players. Like said Pjanic will drive forward more he will support Berbatov as much as he can, at times get beyond Berbatov and look to get into spaces that will see him get a shot away. Always moving and terrorising the defenders with his movement which will see alot of gaps opening up for others. Both must sit either side of Essien when they attack and help break up play.

Lacazette and jese on the wings, again two quick players who like to take there men on, we intend on hitting them quickly so with Sandro and Lowton supporting and Pjanic in the middle we have some very quick players to do this. drive at the Wolves fullbacks with the support and look to get to the bye line or send the fullback down the line and cut inside to make extra men ion the middle and support Berbatov. Early crosses or one twos with those in the middle to break there defence and in on goal. Defend the lines in a bank of 5 across the middle.

Berbatov, some say lazy, some say genius, I say just score the goals to win this game, fair enough he can be lazy but with the quck players round him all he has to do is get himself into positions and they will find him, he has a great footballing brain so knows where to be and when, doesnt often blast his shots away but positions them passed the keeper.and at times passes it into the back of the net with complete accuracy. Good in the air so leap early and try and beat the CB to the ball. If not going for goal look to set up those sprinting in to support.

If we do go into the lead near the end then fullbacks sit back a bit
